Philippines is a beach paradise, If you want to live in a very simple way the country is my top choice.
Explanation for the three names:
Marimegmeg beach - the REAL local name for the beach
Las Cabanas beach - the name of a resort on the southern end of the beach.
Vanilla beach - the name of a resort in the middle of the beach.
You have to remember in the Philippines electricity is an option, in places like the US you can die from cold if your electricity fails. Here its merely an inconvenience, go to the beach, or a motorcycle ride, I've been here 15 years and you learn to plan for it and go with the flow. In big cities it is more necessary, as your options are fewer, and dependency is greater. Living in Manila is like living in New York, stay in the province areas, its where the real Philippines resides. Good luck to you two, hope to see you back here.

So true. If one has $, it makes it more affordable to live in the province.
Electricity and internet connection is not a problem here in Metro Manila.No power outage.Coz the infrastructures are in the cities here.But the bill is a problem.
It’s not as easy as you say.. what it you work online or if your work requires electricity (as most of the jobs)? What about the hospitals and school? They also need electricity, that’s why it’s considered to be a basic need (not because of AC and fan, the usage goes waaaay beyond that). And we have to remember that el Nido is a tourist destination.. electricity is a basic need for locals and for tourists and many people would avoid going there because of the power issues unfortunately. We love el Nido but we have to be honest with the issues that it is currently facing hoping that they will be fixed and paradise will be even better 🙂
@@carolinadanson then its sn easy decision for you, don't come here, its spoiled folk like you who demand all the same amenities as you have in your home country who have ruined so many great destinations. I have been teaching online here for 8 years, BTW. you pick your location to suit your needs, hospitals have generators as do all the malls and major hotels. Schools here are largly un sophistcated and dont rely on air con, or electronics. If you want to experience the best locations and best experiences in life sometimes you have to give something up.
@@DEeMONsworld Never thought I would hear someone think that its spoiled to expect electricity in the biggest tourist destination in a country. The electricity company in Palawan (Paleco) has literally been sued by the local governments for not providing what they are paid to provide and we havent met any locals who are happy with the service. I don't think having electricity ruins a destination as you mentioned, its one of the most basic services provided in pretty much all locations that we go.

yeah, i came to retire here in the Philippines. Surf, beach, sunsets, and relax. I like it so much i now vlog and try and help bring back local tourism to the surf and beach industry in La Union. So beautiful here. Any nice town on the beach is good. So many different types to choose from: Surfing, Diving, swimming or just stand up paddle boarding... so many great beach areas that are great to retire in. and affordable!
