Alexis was a beautiful and talented star in every sense, She left us too soon. I remember her from "Dallas" late in her career. Alexis was truly a gift to Hollywood from Canada as are so many actors and actresses that we assume were US born.
I have always been a big fan of Alexis Smith and think she is highly underrated. She was in many different genres of films and great in them all. This tribute was well worth the wait! Great Job BAZ!
I'm an old movie buff and like the genre of the 1940's. I found her screen persona and image captivating. Most of her pictures weren't that good. But she had this X quality unique among actresses of that era. . . .she was a statuesque beauty with an oddly remote quality that to me was very sexy. Her later middle-aged career in theatre and films showed what a terrific actress and performer she was.
Wow... I watched her today and I couldn't help falling in love with her. To my disappointment there wasn't that much abundance on the internet about her like I expected. There were some articles from 1993 from which I understood that she retired at some point like Audrey Hepburn and came back after years. Now my opinion is that she was a good actress, yet I was captivated more by her face, voice, strong body and mostly strong character. She, as a person, made me curious about her.
Their video is beautiful and I have included it in the "Album of the movie Stars, thank you to share it, it can look for it in Internet writing "Album de las Estrellas de Cine" or "Tribute Actress Famous" or "Banco de Cine" and look for in the alphabet of the ALBUM for the initial letter of the star of this videotape A AL nº 28 here their videotape are.
Up in it paginates it where their video is there is a connection to "Listado de Honor" make click and once inside of it pulses in the LISTING of HONOR of the center, the name of its CHANNEL is already logged, congratulation and thank you.
This is random but Alexis Smith was my grandmas cousin. They grew up together in Penticton. I heard stories about her when I was younger but I never really appreciated her career until recently (and even more so after watching this vid). Anyway, if I find anything significant lying around my parents house, I'll share it with you!
WB did not to right much with Ms. Smith ('Rhapsody in Blue' and that Cole Porter bio w. Cary Grant) but she partnered Erroll Flynn mighty fine in 'Gentleman Jim' and 'Montana.' It was gran to see her in Scorcese's 'The Age of Innocence.' Another set of excellent pics and, of course, 'Night and Day' is a fitting choice of a melody for this particular tribute.
Umm...My birth name and my current name is Alexis Smith and we both sing like that if i were to sing classics thats what i would sound like but less mature...

What film was she in at 2:01? She is wearing bangs.
I wonder if there is anything written about her life and personality?
