I think humans don’t give enough credit to elephants. We see how smart every animal underwater is in response to humans such as dolphins and whales. With elephants the vibrational sonar they are able to use is that within the same range of the whale. A great feat of earths law of nature
Elephants are huge, so some consider them violence, frightening etc, but they look calm & friendly in this video. Actually, I don't have many chances to see elephants in Japan, but I love elephants!
They were rescued elephant .but if you see the wild one don't try to get near them. Not all elephant are kind especially wild male elephant that live alone I live in Thailand and right now I help some work with my professor to conserve elephant and reduce conflict between human and elephant (occured often in village live near the forest. So many died both people and elephant) But I agree with you when elephant move their big ear it was so cute ♥️ P.S.If you want to get close to elephant. I recommend you to visit Elephant nature park in Thailand. Here we rescued elephant(So they are calm&friendly and you can get close to them) .more than this you can have special time to be a volunteer caring them. Great view and food too!
How about that one elephant that made all the other huge elephants look small? Whew. Beast seemed like it could just walk on top of that van and ride it like a skateboard. So they can hear thunderstorms better, they have those long trunks, clearly making some low freq noises, can they communicate in a lower freq than we can hear too? Like land whales communicating across long distances? Lower freqs carry better.
A question I've wondered is, do the tusks play a role in picking up low-frequency soundwaves to help them hear? Would they conduct the vibrations to the skull and inner ear? I think of Edison who bit onto a piano to "hear" it play as his teeth allowed the soundwaves to get to his inner ear. I've wondered the same thing about Triceratops if they used the frill as a dish and horns to help them hear as well? Solid objects conduct sound better than soft tissue...might this be possible?
in minute 3:00 to about 3:04, it shows raindrop being recorded falling on a stick and everytime the water drops hit they create sound. but since its being recorded at a smaller level. the sound they create then becomes infrasound. how do they use to record this ?
Am I the only who's curious about what would happen if you play the Scientifically Accurate Low Frequency Vocalisation of a T Rex in front of them? I've seen people talking about playing that sound In front of their pets and their pets suddenly become squirrely and on edge. It proves that we mammals have an innate primal fear for Low Frequency sounds.
WEll jesus christ wouldnt you be on edge if random ass gnarly growling started being blasted at you? Something strikes me as said vocalization NOT being like "Hey whats up doods here to party AND DEFINITELY NOT EAT YOU!"
Page 229 Is William Herschel a physicist? He discovered IR in 1800 in the sun's spectrum. infrasound = Soundlike waves with frequencies below the audible limit of about 20 hertz.
Okay,, so they can hear the storm coming and turn, in a group, accordingly. Do they know anything about lightning and that they can be struck by it? Do /Have they ever been struck??
satellite imaging of weather systems changing over time, coupled with statistical models, is more accurate on a larger scale and further in advance. i mean the elephants can only detect the storms when the storms are already in earshot. even if they could invent like, really big umbrellas, that doesn't give them much time to prepare themselves for the storm.
weather scientists can predict storms before the animals can in most cases. It is just amazing to see how a natural being can predict the storms way way before our natural selves can
it seems the elephants are in a nice reserve. and like stated in the video they are rescues. The noises changed their behavior in a non-hazardous way, they knew the elephants weren't going to hurt them selves or be hurt by the noises. It is a very much harmless quick experiment on natural animal behaviors. Nothing wrong with this experiment from a moral perspective
why do you not reveal what sound in hz or whatever that these animals make with their body? this whats interesting. ., . ., tell the whole story or lose this audience person. i like meat on my chew bones.

That last frame of an elephant wading through the wetland is so beautiful.

The HM blue bottoms on the left 💩

The put the leg on the Japan pi I ran that yesterday 😭
Elephants are very dangerous creatures and you don't want to go near them in the wild
What an incredible being
I love elephants! I wished all the world would love and value them for their strength, intelligence and loving natures, not their tusks!
This should be longer than a few minutes for goodness sake
Elephants are incredible! No idea they could hear the storm sounds!

Amazing, incredible, you name it.
LOVE the Heffalumps!!
You don’t even know what you’re telling them with that. Don’t act surprised when they attack😆
Just like how there is light we cannot not see, there is also sound we humans cannot hear. The truth is out there...
I would like to think that undiscovered yet is a silent symphony among elephants , like listening to a conversation and hearing 1/2 the conversation.

Like dousing rods even??!! Thats intriguing AF
Highly Plausible
Very interesting that they can locate it! Also i need that sub at home for below 15hz!
I really like this video about Elephants, thank you!!
Guy operating the fan sounds like a simpsons character
I LOVE ELEPHANTS !!!!
Fantastic
Awesome....
So beautiful!
Left elephant leg vibrates at the bottom which is behind agent 47 😭
Awesome 😎 elephant 🐘 facts.
Really fantastic!
I can hear it running if you can’t get some hearing aids
Everything we observe but what we don't think is the force and the creator behind these creatures
I remember watching about this on the Wild Thornberries when Eliza ran into a rhino and used the same method to call Rebecca
Because elefants know the soung of the King Elefant..

Liked it good to know these things.

I wonder if their large, floppy ears are moved by the vibrations and that's what helps them hear the sounds.
The skin on their feet is stretched out to pick up tiny vibrations
Loxodonta africana - wonderful animal!
I think they thought the sound was a beginning of an earthquake
Finally it has been proven: elephants do not differentiate between a thunderstorm and a fan spinning in a van.
+Oussama Erraji Funny :D
Is crazy to think we’re so advanced but we haven’t even learn to understand the language of another species.
are we really that advanced? do people actually believe we are above others, especially animals?
Use a SVS PB 16 Ultra... Infrasound down to 13Hz

infrasound = Soundlike waves with frequencies below the audible limit of about 20 hertz.

how to find the full video
Est on sûr qu'ils n'entendent pas les vibrations du van ?
Okay,, so they can hear the storm coming and turn, in a group, accordingly.
Do they know anything about lightning and that they can be struck by it?
Do /Have they ever been struck??
elephants are cool
Even if we can't hear it, that does not meant it's not here.
How to get the sound pls any reference !!
They should know when thunder is coming because they can be easily struck by lightning with their size specially in the open field.
My hound dog does this he's got big Ole ears
SUB 20HZ can be heard with sufficient amplitude.
I can hear it lol get hearing aids if you can’t hear that
Infrasound is kinda like infrared.
God has revealed all these nature secrets to these animals so that they can save themselves without any human helps.
Humans may be more intelligent than any creatures in the world but we too have limitations.
🐘🌺
Sad story polar bears are going to go extinct ITS SOO SAD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Almighty God is THE Creator! So very awe-inspiring!!!
Don't fart near them 🕵️

It's a function of their huge ears.

If infrasound is so good at letting elephants know where a storm is coming from, then why don't weathermen use it to predict the weather?

Sasquatch has best infrasound or dogman. Lol
@@batesg7657 you've been watching too much Bob Gymlan
@@b.sharp. that's sorta where I came from haha
a reminder scientists, these are sentient beings, NOT test subjects.

Its fake
At first I thought the white guy was the reporter and interviewed the African guy.
