thanks for this great interview. you are really doing great and I am already curious about the other fantastic people you have on your show. for my part: blaschke should /MUST win the Academy Award for Nosferatu. As Eggers should win for best directing. this film is something very special. it is a masterpiece. a work of art and poetry. it really transcends the genre and the medium. amazing what they did.

The bit about rating 500t at 250 is interesting. Nice show

Robert Eggers inspires the best from Jarin Blaschke's work. It's a beautiful relationship.

This has kinda bugged me since The Lighthouse came out but, Ilford makes an Ortho film that’s natively 80 iso. I wondered if they could’ve produced some large rolls for the movie and had full speed rather than shooting on 5222 and losing so much speed. I read that they were at ISO 25 or 12. When speaking on the importance of 1/3rd stops, 80 would’ve felt a lot faster.

My assumption would be that having Illford make those reels probably was cost prohibitive on their budget. Even Kodak needs a huge huge order to make it work (Euphoria, for example)

Good point. Don’t get into biography. Who cares. Just tell ne hiw you did it, cause I am a schmocky dop who wants know how the artistic greatness called Nosferatu was achieved.

Haha I mean I CARE but usually someone else covered it, plus it's often easily Googleable, making it kind of a dumb question 😂

Some of us actually do bc we wanna know how they got their break and find the inspiration and how we can find them relatable…which is why I love Team Deakins bc you get to learn who are down to earth…yeah perhaps for bunch of white people it seems like everyone had the same story and opportunity

@@FrameAndReferenceif you wanna make it interesting, you can pinpoint the interesting information and ask “I read this about you, so…” or “I saw this interview of you saying this…”

@@sahamation do be sure to check the back episodes as they come out on this channel (or just on whatever Podcast app you use, they're already out), I promise it's not just a buncha white men 😂

@@sahamation also that is often the jumping off point for my questions. I try to listen to or read as many interviews as possible before the conversation to do so
