I disagree. Jen was not prepared to compromise, and neither was Swapnil. At the end of the day the purpose of this task was to listen to the client. What killed this was the time constraint. I think with more consultation time, they may have got there.
Swapnil is the one who doesn’t listen & not willing to adjusting. He’s too focused on what he wants to make instead opening his mind & listen to the client, which is the essence of this challenge.
I think the significant point that makes this particular challenge unrealistic is that most clients will go to a designer specifically FOR their aesthetic. So there wouldn’t be such differing points on how the design would look.

Swapnil is the one who doesn’t listen & not willing to adjusting. He’s too focused on what he wants to make instead opening his mind & listen to the client, which is the essence of this challenge.
well.. a designer should be able to make a woman feel better about her self and self image. she was obviously not in the best emotional space, but if there was a design that made her feel pretty she would have not been "annoying". seriously that knot at the back of the cape.. awful work.
it feels like they did this to Swapnil intentionally. the crew client is obviously a Karen type complainful one. and why Tim needs to be raising voice? which is very unnecessary. i believe that Swapnil is very creative, more ideas. the only thing i noticed is he over design incorporating a lot in one design. i just dont like the attitude of the client and Tim who get mad for no reason.
But a cape? That was horrible. The sleeves, the material were so matronly. No way would a twenty something wear an outfit like this. In nearly all the outfits he created there was something old fashioned, ill fashioned or ridiculously unnecessary. He doesn't understand the modern young woman. A cape!🤦🏽🤷🏽
I totally hear what you're saying... however, I think Tim was trying to light a fire under his ass because for the last few weeks, Swapnil has been sinking and disappearing. It wasn't an effective tactic, but I think he was trying to help him stay in the competition and rise to his best. Unfortunately, it only made things worse. Definitely a mismatch with the client... but I think this only exaggerated how Swapnil had lost himself. He couldn't hear himself, or his client. he just got completely lost. I think he is insanely talented, but this reality show format wasn't the environment for him to fully shine.
Honestly? I wish Tim Gunn would intervene like that more. There is always one designer who is horrible to the normal woman, and often the show lets it slide.
Exactly. I was rooting for him but I lost interest later on because he was not showing progress and versatility. On the other hand, the ones that are left are not very exciting either.
@@user-ch2iy9sv9z I agree completely. But I must say the condition that he sent that poor girl down the runway in was heartbreaking. A bunch of jagged fabric tied into a big knot at her back and the sleeves were cut up the seam because they were too tight I felt absolutely horrible for her. And she was walking the Runway with her fellow employees, her bosses and not to mention family and friends that were watching at home.I can't think of anything more embarrassing. I think she would have been quite easy to design for. A very stylish pant and a long modern shirt maybe with a vest and I think she would have been very happy ☺
The judges were really slacking this season. We've seen them give actual helpful feedback to the designers in the future seasons. Stuff that helped them grow their own aesthetic in a more polished way by the end. But all they do here is shit on the designs and eliminate them. In the recent Siriano seasons they even tell them how to improve when they're eliminated. This season is just rude and pointless. There's a lot of talk about the designers being talentless this season, but it was also the judges' and mentor's responsibility to help them identify their strengths and weaknesses so they can refine their designs further. I feel like this is why a talented designer like Swapnil couldn't thrive here because he was getting no actual pointers! They just told him they didn't like it, but why? He thought he gave his 200% and they didn't like it, there should have been a discussion there. I can totally see why he lost his spark because he just kept doing the same things he liked and sometimes they liked it and sometimes they didn't. The only useful critique was from Nina when she said he was doing added drama for himself. Remember in the last challenge when he wanted to do a simple leopard print dress but Tim said he needed to do more? A lot of confusing guidance which ultimately lead to the most boring designs.
Tired of this season. We thought the season with the twins would be the worst, but this one is underwhelming and with Swapnil gone it’s not even interesting to watch anymore.
She was not a Karen. Jen simply did not get any elements that she discussed were important to her. Swapnil can certainly design, his downfall here is unfortunate as he could have won this competition. But he could not hear the client. In the real world clients will choose him because they like his style. So they are already on the same page.
Swapnil is the one who doesn’t listen & not willing to adjusting. He’s too focused on what he wants to make instead opening his mind & listen to the client, which is the essence of this challenge.
I couldn't agree more. Putting this kind of pressure on them just zaps away their creative juices. We saw all of these designers auditioning and they had beautiful clothes. Well not all of them. LOL that little Asian girl with the oversized clothes I kind of questioned them inviting her. Haha The clothes that Blake showed I thought were stunning. Yet the only challenge that he won was for that big balloony dress whatever that was supposed to be.
They seem freak control, lacking completely the spirit of adventure. Jen already started doubting Swapnil, she shouldn't have been there at all just judging without knowing.
Swapnil was one of the best if not the best this season, it's a shame he was treated so poorly. Also, I dont get why the judges feel the need to disrespect the designers during the critiques? They go too far.
I absolutely agree. This has been the worst season ever the treatment that these designers received is enough to destroy their career they're not critiquing their abusing. I'd be extremely disappointed if this is what they're viewing audience wanted to see, clearly not or they wouldn't have changed their format so much. The difference between this and the later seasons is night and day.
Swapnil was treated poorly because she was acting poorly. Apparently there's an interview that said she had a plan to half-ass it until the end of the show. People don't like that kind of behaviour, and will act accordingly. Coupled with how she ignored what her client wanted, it's not a surprise.
@valolafson6035 I mean even if the fact that she wanted to half ass it was true, she still did much better than many others who were giving it their all. She was assigned this client on purpose, knowing that their styles wouldn't match and they would clash. She could've won the whole thing tbh, the look she made at least looked decent and wearable, unlike some of the others.
The real world of design requires a marriage of designer, client and occasion. Usually, the client chooses a designer because they already like their ideas. This task proved difficult for Swapnil, partly because he did not actually listen to the client. Jen was not being a tough client she was being strong.
They clearly didn’t want Swapnnil to win. Despite being a top designer, he never won a single challenge, which raises concerns-especially considering his Indian ethnicity. Project Runway has a history of favoring certain narratives, like Ashley for plus-size fashion or Latin winners, but an Indian winner seems out of the question because to them being Indian is not Asean enough! In this episode, the client was unreasonable, refusing to engage with his ideas. Had she been more open, things might have turned out differently. Instead, the episode felt like a setup, a propaganda to eliminate Swapnil-and that’s exactly what happened. Since leaving Project Runway in 2014, Swapnnil-now known as Saisha Shinde-has achieved massive success. She has worked with top Indian and international stars, designed for Bollywood films, and her creations have been worn by celebrities worldwide. Most notably, she designed for Miss Universe 2021, who went on to win. Despite the show’s bias, she has proven herself as a highly sought-after designer, far beyond the limits of Project Runway. And she is more successful than the winners.TIM GUNN - right on your face
Marlene’s look was the only good one. Kelly did somewhat ok. All the rest was horrible. But also, this season the challenges are very stupid. These people would not go to these designers in real life. There is no way to make it work. Ah yeah, Candice turned her woman into to a working girl. :/
Also, poor Swapnil made 3 looks! Yes, time did get away from him, because he made 3 version of this and she didn’t like any of it and kept telling him to start again.
Kelly’s design was the only one that looked good here, the only wearable outfit. Everyone else’s was pretty bad. Especially Swapnils, and Ashley’s was bad taste, ugly print and made a larger model look even bigger on the hips. Which is sad because I love both of them. And now we won’t get to see Swapnil do the Avant Gard challenge! So disappointing. Part of being a fashion designer is listening to the client and designing for them, not using them to do your own thing regardless of what the client wants. None of them did that except Kelly.
omg, i do not like swapnil's client at all, she is such a karen, so rude, if she has had such a clear view of what she wanted she could have told him what exactly she wants other than playing victim and crying for what he made for her everytime.
It really felt like Tim just didnt like Swapnil from the onset.I mean the way he snapped at him in this episode, and was even rude when he sent him off to clean up his space
Sometimes, the way the judges in reality shows speak to the contestants makes me feel very icky. Like, sure, critique them, but you don't have to be cruel.
Swapnil’s client was so happy with all the bad comments during the critique, girl your self centered drama and complaints caused a succesfull designer to eliminated. And i am sorry Tim’s comments are out of taste
I don't think that Jen is a Karen and I really like swapnil but he was designing something far too sophisticated for her. She's is obviously a jean and denim shirt kind of gal. Pencil skirts are very tight and difficult to walk in. She would have been best in a pair of pants which he makes beautifully and a lovely long shirt. He was moving in the wrong direction and not listening to her with that said there was no excuse for Tim's abuse. If he expected me to wear that look I would had been firm explaining that he was moving in the wrong direction.
They treated Swapnil like this because he wasn’t American. No matter how good his is, he was set up to fail from the start and so he gave up. Glad Saisha is thriving in India with amazing opportunities and love from everyone 🫶
I don't understand especially with Ashley why when a client says I don't want my arms showing they refused to give them sleeves I mean I have a lot of tattoos and so there are times that I don't want my arms to show and I never have any trouble finding clothes with long sleeves. I'm beginning to wonder if they are difficult to make. Bismel made it even worse by giving her skin tight half sleeves they're not flattering on anyone. I felt bad for him but I felt even worse for her.
this is so far the weakest designer in each season I've seen. So far I haven't found design I have like or something unforgettable. The previous season from 20 down to 15 had so much better designs and better the highest from the safe ones in the other season. these designers are really not so trained too much
It’s a make over, why Swapnil’s model can’t try to have fun and see how wild and far a designer could go to make you different. Unless the designer is very rude and not a nice person, otherwise as a staff working on the show for long time, why would she kill someone’s dream like that, I mean she had no problem dissing Swapnil
@@valolafson6035 still, it’s better than Ashley’s even with the knots hiding in the back. I guess at this point they already picked Ashley as the winner and tried to protect her at all costs
This is a strange season! Episode 10 and you still have designer who are struggling with their sewing and show clothes on the runway without pressing them. 😢
Seems like a pre concocted plan to evict Swapnil...his client was truly a ckient from hell. Am glad Swapnil/ Saisha have proven their mettle in the fashion industry!
it was so painful to watch... i don't like challenges like this. you don't go to a designer to change his aesthetic. you choose a designer because of his aesthetic. they played swapnil dirty. he's talented and has his own strong point of view in his design. and when he's forced to comromise this what happens. ugh..
I disagree. I think the crew were clear about their likes and dislikes and the designers, in the main, ignored their clients’ aesthetic and dived into their own egos.
The 'clients', being employees of the show, were clearly 'playing the game'. If they weren't, then its worse, because it would mean that they're assholes in real life lol...
I feel bad for Swapnil. This crew/client is not someone who likes to look good. You cannot do anything for such people. The best you can do is make them wear a shirt and pants. Personally I would let her be. She is likes an old dog who is set with her tricks. Posen 😂😂😂😂. In a competition, you will get some one like these people. They are not worth wasting your talent otherwise.
@@valolafson6035 are you going to say that the customer is always right ? She didn't say what she wanted unlike the others. Communication from her part was just missing.
I 💯 would’ve quit if I had Jen. Swapnil (Saisha) got really screwed over from the start. This was beyond the most unfair elimination. I love Edmond (spoiler) … but I wish Swapnil (Saisha) got saved.
Any of the designers could’ve been eliminated in this episode. None of the outfits were memorable. Ashley’s choice of fabric makes me question her taste.
Wat Haidi was wearing was cute just put sleeves on it and that’s was she wanted the direction was clear. You should have channeled that guy guy who designed for classy grown ladies “matron”

We all can see they didn't wanted Swapnil to win the show. he was the one of the best in this season, they new his potential, still they made it sure hevwont win a single challenge so they have change to destroy him and eliminate him at any chance they get, and why?? Because he is not American. Biased biased biased this showvis biased thank god that tim shit is not working in this show anymore.

I cant wait for season 13, most of my fav people are from that season!
Amanda and Sean
@@MarioMVasilev Emily Payne is my fav of all time!
omg, i do not like swapnil's client at all, she is such a karen, so rude, if she has had such a clear view of what she wanted she could have told him what exactly she wants other than playing victim and crying for what he made for her everytime.
It really felt like Tim just didnt like Swapnil from the onset.I mean the way he snapped at him in this episode, and was even rude when he sent him off to clean up his space
Swapnil wasn't being very respectful of his client though.
Sometimes, the way the judges in reality shows speak to the contestants makes me feel very icky. Like, sure, critique them, but you don't have to be cruel.
Has anyone noticed Ashley just pick up the same color of the fabric as her hair?
Swapnil’s client was so happy with all the bad comments during the critique, girl your self centered drama and complaints caused a succesfull designer to eliminated. And i am sorry Tim’s comments are out of taste
Self-centred? She was the client. What she wants is what matters.
She's a successful designer now, but that outfit is terrible, and it's not the client's fault.
@@valolafson6035 well even if its like that, that doesnt change her amusement about somene's downfall. In the end she was so happy.
In this case, Swapnil designed was bad. Should listen to your client and what she wants, the client dislike from the beginning he scatched.
I just love Kelly! Period!
Swapnil having a sleep was so funny . She was a tough customer 👀. He is doing amazing designing clothes for Bollywood.
How was she tough? She told Swapnil what she liked and was comfortable with, and it was totally ignored.
Jen is a new Karen :( I feel so bad for Swapnil
💯agreed
There have been other non-American designers, and they've been fine. Swapnil was in the wrong on this one.
Self hate, to being pushed? ❤ growing pains hurt 😢
Damn Tim Gunn let his feelings out
No talented designers...
this is so far the weakest designer in each season I've seen. So far I haven't found design I have like or something unforgettable. The previous season from 20 down to 15 had so much better designs and better the highest from the safe ones in the other season. these designers are really not so trained too much
Honestly these one day challenges are ridiculous... They killed the designers ability to flourish and finish...also the crew... terrible
They had two days
The crew was fine. The challenge wasn't one day.
They are all awful, except Kelly's. Ashley's was horrible. I felt sorry for Swapnil - I'm glad he has gone on to be really successful.
Thanks❤
Awu Tim not even a hug for Swapnil💔💔💔
Laurence should have been on that season and bagged the win…
It’s a make over, why Swapnil’s model can’t try to have fun and see how wild and far a designer could go to make you different. Unless the designer is very rude and not a nice person, otherwise as a staff working on the show for long time, why would she kill someone’s dream like that, I mean she had no problem dissing Swapnil
Her designer wasn't that great. She's the client, her wants matter. That outfit was bad.
@ this look is bad. She said no to a better design
@@hklaurent If it's not a design she liked, as the client, it's not a better design.
@@valolafson6035 still, it’s better than Ashley’s even with the knots hiding in the back. I guess at this point they already picked Ashley as the winner and tried to protect her at all costs
@@hklaurent Huh? How is knots in the back better than no knots?
Tim gunn really got pissed off at swapnil ..
He was just horrible
Should have been pissed at that Karen instead.
@@aarushkumar7052 Jen wasn't a Karen at all.
This season is all about picking a WINNER from the TRASH.
This is a strange season! Episode 10 and you still have designer who are struggling with their sewing and show clothes on the runway without pressing them. 😢
Sorry but swapnil did not listen to anything his client wanted just went iff and dihis own thing again
The season from hell
The desighns were awful! All of them
Seems like a pre concocted plan to evict Swapnil...his client was truly a ckient from hell. Am glad Swapnil/ Saisha have proven their mettle in the fashion industry!
Does anyone know if in this episode, for the runway, the make up for the girls was by a make up artist ....and not themselves?
it was so painful to watch...
i don't like challenges like this. you don't go to a designer to change his aesthetic. you choose a designer because of his aesthetic.
they played swapnil dirty. he's talented and has his own strong point of view in his design. and when he's forced to comromise this what happens. ugh..
Compromise is how things work.
The staffs are rude
I disagree. I think the crew were clear about their likes and dislikes and the designers, in the main, ignored their clients’ aesthetic and dived into their own egos.
Thanks so much for posting the videos! Please try post hells kitchen too! X thanks
No one stands out from all the looks, all boring
Wow ashleel was clearly out , they targeted swapnil for sure Tim gun is do bisased ne did not save wow .
I think tim forgot to take his maintainance pills! 😜
You have to be kidding? She wants to look bad? Who wants to look bad? She didn't like the outfit, and it's for her.
@valolafson6035 she doesn't like/knows how to look good and is stubborn to see his point. What she wore weren't bad but she could have tried his ways.
@@genesiuskharnaior747 Why though? She's the client.
@@valolafson6035 are you going to say that the customer is always right ? She didn't say what she wanted unlike the others. Communication from her part was just missing.
Tim wasnt harsh on Swapnil, he just showed how racist he is.. discrimination is so obvious
Please elaborate.
Yes, it's possible that he's racist. But, the client didn't want it. What was the point of discussing, if the designer is going to ignore it?
I 💯 would’ve quit if I had Jen. Swapnil (Saisha) got really screwed over from the start. This was beyond the most unfair elimination. I love Edmond (spoiler) … but I wish Swapnil (Saisha) got saved.
Any of the designers could’ve been eliminated in this episode. None of the outfits were memorable. Ashley’s choice of fabric makes me question her taste.
Oh swapnil 😢,. We are going to miss you
Kelly should have won the season.
Wat Haidi was wearing was cute just put sleeves on it and that’s was she wanted the direction was clear. You should have channeled that guy guy who designed for classy grown ladies “matron”
I'd love to see swapnil on an allstars season or something.
He is an successful A-list designer now... if he come back he would come back as a judge not as a contestant..
@@moming8421 oh wow amazing
poor swapnil why so harsh on him
Not too harsh. That was a terrible outfit.
Wow that Client is terrible... how could you be so rude. She did not help to make clear what she wanted. Jennefer wanted to be upset.
She said she wanted sleeves. She didn't say they had to be ugly.
Swapnil is the one who doesn’t listen & not willing to adjusting. He’s too focused on what he wants to make instead opening his mind & listen to the client, which is the essence of this challenge. Don’t be biased people!
you look stupid copying your comment again and again
This season’s designs are very underwhelming and uninspired. Will still watch till the end, but sad to not actually be rooting for any of the designers at this point.
Felt bad for Swapnil. 😢
27:34 Zac is so cute
Merece ganhar 👌
🎉🎉🎉
Not a whole lot of talent. Or personality. Kelly from the deli is wonderfully sweet though.
Swapnils client is such a drama ! Wuttttt!??
Swapnils designs always stunning I don’t know what the judges seeing bcoz of that client drama Swapnils design was messed up
I hate this …….
All bull 💩
Swapnils and Ashley designs always my favorite ❤️ and also Edmund designs hit the runway stunning too ❤
This challenge is trash 🗑️
That was stunning? Yikes.
His designs were awfull and his ego to big
Only two looks are well for me
Gosh!… i hate that girl!!!!! and judges are annoying lol
I hate real client challenge
Olhem só o que ela se ri a que não gosta de nada 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
worst batch ever😂😂😂
the ddesigns are all so bad.
Swapnil half assed everything. They judges were fair in what they said.
Essa mulher não gosta de nada portanto atrás das câmaras é que deve estar e nothing more 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You go to a designer to make you something according to THEIR aesthetics, NOT YOURS. this challenge was Bull^&it. It's like going to Chanel and asking for Hip Hop clothing.....
🤢🤢 these outfits were atrocious
