Who Were The 28 Wide Receivers Drafted Before Julian Edelman? Where Are They Now?

- Julian Edelman is a three-time Super Bowl champion and has even won a Super Bowl MVP. Edelman has been a reliable target for Tom Brady since entering the league and has made a name for himself. He has a wild journey to where he is now, playing quarterback in college and making a switch over to wide receiver in the pros. If that wasn’t enough to overcome, he wasn’t taken until the 232nd selection in the seventh round in the 2009 NFL Draft.

You should do all the qbs to be drafted before Julian Edelman
i feel like the video would be too long for because Edelman was the last "QB" taken and that puts 11 other quarterbacks ahead of him. The only notable QB's ahead of him are Stafford and Mark Sanchez with the others not doing much in their careers
@@samurraiwarrior11 they did 198 players drafted before Tom Brady
@@KoltonReitz yeah but why would they go out of their way to showcase a player they've done before
Sal Esquer why wouldn’t he it would be good, would u watch it cause I know the I wouldn’t be the only one to watch
Sal Esquer ttbttttttttttt ttttttttttt ttttttttttt ttttttttt
Dude this is just about the worst WR draft class I’ve ever seen💀💀💀
To be fair Knox was pretty damn good. But check out his injury it's really heartbreaking.
Knox was good till his horrible injury and it really hurt my bears fans hearts
Casual Nerd so u not finna mention Michael Crabtree 😂
Mike Wallace was decent
@@debro1202 Eh Crabtree was solid don't get me wrong but Knox was a far bigger steal than Edelman at the pace he was going. Already making a probowl and at his pace he was going to break 1000 yards. Which Crabtree has done only twice.
Edelman my favorite player left on the pats, power outage won’t stop me from watching this video
Could you guys do a “who were the 10 WRs taken before Chris Godwin”? Would love to see That.
Depressed NY Sports Fan you obviously don’t need it if you knew that there were 10😂
Ethan Runyon 😂😂
You just got your wish brodie
I was like Eldman 4’11 in freshmen year I was lightest and shortest player for my football and basketball team but unlike Eldman I didn’t get my 8 inches until after senior year
So your still short asf?
Same man lol
dam 5'7 oof
I was 5’7 at the end of eighth grade. Grew 8 inches that summer and was 6’3 when I started high school. Thank god lol
Is it me or does this guy sound like KTO
Sounds like a baby version of him😂
I was watching something else, but immediately left when I saw This!
I love how much effort you put in your videos!
thanks

Johnny Knox Is One Of The Saddest Stories In NFL History. It Hits My Heart Every Time
Frfr rip
The greatest catch in Super Bowl history.
I’m pretty sure he made the change to wr in the offseason before he got drafted to the pats.
Jesse Markham I think so to I’m pretty sure I’ve seen videos that said he used to have days where he would workout and run routes all day before he was drafted
I’m pretty sure officially he was drafted as a qb tho. Yes he did consider switching positions, that’s why he ran routes.
So happy to see this vid. Huge Edelman fan
take a shot every time he says a player is now in the CFL.
Buren ene. Bjes no hunny I’m nott drrunmk
I just think my liver failed. Oh no
I've been waiting for this for so long! Thanks🙏🏽
Amazing Video man. Keep up the good work
I’m a broncos fan, so I hate the Pats, but Edelman’s hella underrated
Ima pats fam but I can respect that
Is he underrated if literally everyone calls him underrated?
Uh that is incorrect
How tf is he underrated. Delusional Pats fans think and convince others he's a HOFer
I might be biased but in this draft I think Jeremy Maclin is the underrated one
I remember this draft like it was yesterday. A lot of these receivers actually flashed plenty of potential making pro bowls and such, but none of them could sustain the success for a long time
At first I thought Edelman was a less athletic version of Wes Welker. Like Welker looked faster, quicker, and maybe stronger.
BUT! Edelman is way more clutch and mentally and physically tough. He was catching passes I don’t think many other receivers could have caught in the biggest of games. Certainly not Welker he dropped them.
People Drafted before Chandler Jones! Love the Vids, you have gotten yourself a fan and subscriber.
Finally yall did my favorite player. Thanks
3:18 props to the guy who went flying in on the pileup
You guys should do these videos but for older players like for example the 15 players drafted before Jerry rice. As a Broncos fan I would love to see the 19 players taken before Steve Atwater because of the insane players in that draft, also love the work you guys do here!!!
rice wasnt even the first receiver taken either Al Toon and Eddie Brown were taken ahead of him
Edelman had a 4.46 40, and Welker's 40 was 4.65
Bruh he was playing at my school in the first clip
love your channel bro! also a jules fan
I don't really like Edelman, but you guys have such great vids I'll put up with it.
I love your videos
thanks
Cali in the building, Damn tht Class had so many Gems in IT.. Has to be the BEST WR Class I've seen so far💯💯💯 Drink Up🍻
Great videos, guys! Could you do "who was drafted before deandre hopkins?"
Do Jordy Nelson next please
Adalberto Prado Yes
Glad to see maclin get some respect
Rip Knox he was a beast
Do who were the corners drafted before tredavious white
This was the worst draft class of all time...wow
Not really most of these guys were pretty solid at first they just got old as hell and declined
Yeah Maclin was a dawg
Shady McCoy was a beast
Must not be familiar with the 2006 draft class. Jay Cutler was the best player in it lmao
@@Zalwalloo big oof moment
Most these receiver only had 1 good season and declined
Edelman is the most underrated wr in the league
Bruh i remeber before his SB mvp game me and a rams fan co worker argued how good he was
The Michael Crabtree clip cutting out lmaooo we see you guys
edelmen is my favorite player ever! #PATRIOTS FAN 4EVER
Brody Walker oh my
Do one about Larry Fitzgerald
Damnnn I forgot about maclin. Dude was a beast
Those defenders at 7:56 had a glitch in the Matrix.
I don’t know why but Edelman really reminds me of Marques Colston. Both 7th round, highly underrated guys that have played with some of the best QBs of all time.
there were a ton of jumps and cuts, i get you had to cut length but cutting things like wallace’s tenure with the dolphins and crabtree’s tenure with the raiders (where he was arguably at his best) are brutal
At least the 1st rounders weren’t just no names and all had at least 1 half decent season
Can u do marshon lattimore
You should do who was drafted before fletcher Cox
I remember when Kam popped him in the super bowl. That was a good memory for me he is a true short king tank
*Wide Receiver from the 2009 draft gets cut*
Toronto Argonauts: *YOU WANNA JOB*
Pretty much my agros signed too much receivers 😂😂
Hunter Carper Racing the Argos suck
Crabtree was amazing
Would love to see a video of QBs taking before Tom Brady.
Julian Edelman ranks second all-time in playoffs receptions behind some guy named Rice and is a Super Bowl MVP that made one of the best catches in Super Bowl history versus the Falcons and was entirely uncoverable during the Patriots-Rams Super Bowl. Also, multi-time 100 catch receiver. Respect.
Dude it’s easy to get receptions in the playoffs when your team is in the Super Bowl every year and you Tom Brady throwing to you and he is the only halfway decent receiver on the patriots other then when Gronk was on the team he is also super bowl mvp because he made one good catch that saved the game you know who else made a good catch once oh ya every wide receiver in the nfl and it’s easy to be a multi time 100 reception receiver when every other wide out on the team is ass
@@matthewstevens5450 So many errors. First, grammar and punctuation are never a bad thing. Second, Edelman had Tom Brady throwing to him...just like Rice had Montana throwing to him and the Marks brothers had Dan Marino. We don't deduct from a players greatness because they had other greatness around them. Lastly, Edelman made the "one good catch that saved the game" in a different Super Bowl (vs. Falcons) than the one in which he won Super Bowl MVP (vs. Rams). Oops. Guess you didn't know that.
semicharmedlife311 did you just compare Jerry rice to Julian Edelman
@@matthewstevens5450 No. You need to develop some reading comprehension, Matthew. I compared crediting or discrediting a WR based on who was throwing them the ball. Additionally, there IS a comparison for playoff receptions between the 2 players, coincidentally.
You're out of your league here, bro.
semicharmedlife311 maybe I do need to develop some reading comprehension because I swear that’s what you said 😂 but there is a comparison between there receptions but not the way they play the game what I’m trying to get across is that how many receiving yards you have in the playoffs doesn’t decide if u are good or not just because he catches a lot of balls doesn’t mean he is elite now does he have hands sure but he is not the receiver that he is made out to be if you take Julian Edelman put him with a average qb and put him on a team that is not lead by the best coach in nfl history he will not perform at the level of a number one receiver
you mean the Toronto Argonauts’ receiver core?
Anyone else peep aaron curry in the back right corner behind juaquin iglesias 🤣🤣 must have been rookie picture day
Damn my agros signed alot of underperforming receivers from the nfl
I SCREEEAAMMMED when he said Jeremy Maclin has 72 receptions for 470-something yards, looked it up and it was 40 receptions, just in case there was no correction.
Everyone was injured or a bust so all wide receiver in draft class got injuries that sad 😢
How do you go from 1st round pick to not being able to make the XFL
Ay j&d, are yall from MD.
Nope, VA.
@@JDProdNFL, I gotcha cause I'm from MD.
10:45 correction, he was somehow skipped on for a pro bowl that season 🤦♂️
Lol I like how no one ever mentions his ped use
Y’all should really start a podcast
🤔
Yes yes and yes
*WR from the 2009 draft class gets released* Toronto Argonauts: “Allow is to introduce ourselves”
Why the Glitch when explaining Crabtree's best play?
RUclips attempted to block this video due to copyright. The only way to keep it public was to trim the claimed clips. Our more recent vids don't have this issue.
@@JDProdNFL All good 👍 great stuff!
Can you please change the background music . It makes the videos feel repetitive
Yall shouldve done a qb/wrs taken before edelman
Who were the 0 players drafted before joe burrow?
Fix your editing but also stay on your grind good luck
There is a difference between better than expected and elite.
Levi Bundy yes Edelman was better then expected and not elite
Johnny Knox was a fucking STUD
12:02 still looking for his ankles 11 years later
Oof
should do one on every patriot player drafted in the 5th round or lower to win a superbowl
Yessa
Who were the 3 quarterbacks drafted before jp losman
Him and me share the same birthday.
I wonder what he would be if he was a QB for a team. Prolly someone who play well in a good system but on a bad team he would be considered bad.
Did you mean Helsinki not helinski?
So Edelman is basically Taysom Hill
Bro, Edelman is way better than Hill
Yes, but tiny
As a Pats fan, Edelman is my hero. Edelman has pushed himself. Unlike Brady and Gronk, Edelman is a Patriot for life✊
Jim Watson No. Edelman is a Patriot 4 Life. He has been and always will be. Not for some shitty contract the Bucs offer him. Not even if the entire Patriots roster got traded to the Bucs
Jim Watson Bro it’s such Fax TF you mean?? Edelman will never leave New England. If Edelman leaves its only to retire a New England Patriot
Jim Watson Lawyer was a great safety for us. The 3rd best we’ve ever had next to Devin Mcourty and Rodney Harrison. I mean he was really good. He was there when we won our first of 6 rings. But it was only the beginning for Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the New England freakin Patriots
Jim Watson Yeah that’s true maybe even kept him 2 years for the sake that he was there for longer then any patriots player. Gronkowski left, Brady left, couple people back in the day left or retired like Tedy Bruschi
Jim Watson Fax bro. Even in SB51 with that wild catch with Desmond Trufant, Keanu Neal and Deion Jones all up in his face he managed to catch that ball and that turned the SB around. Edelman puts so much Heart into football. From a 6th round QB pick from Kent State to 3x SB winner as a WR. And every time he steps on the field someone’s ankles will get broke by this “Small little White Guy”
I wonder how many really good and talented wide receivers being drafted by bad teams with bad quarterbacks end up wasting away the talent they had...Hmmm?
Edelman patriots QB1?
2:11 through 2:40 guess we know why he chose to wear number 11
Now it’s 2020 when I’m commenting but they should put him back at qb over cam Newton and cam Newton play Wr I think that would be right
I heard if you’re early they reply
true
Man the Argos lol
This was a rough draft for wide receivers. Yes I did that on purpose.
WHat a bad wr class
#HTTR
Hi
Majority of these dudes coulda had great careers but soo many injuries
Wait..... Edelman played for my local community college
You gotta explain the “performance enhancement drugs” were actually so he can heal and get back from the injury quicker and not so he can get buff or run quicker
Go Panthers!!!
Tru!!!!
He went to my sisters middle school lol
If you're talking about a specific play you should be showing the highlight, in lieu of random footage from their career.
Stud
Rip of one who died.
The NFL is racist because 4 white qbs were drafted ahead of Lamar Jackson, yet no one says its racist that 28 black wide receivers were taken ahead of Julian Edelman
Go roughriders baby
THis is what you get when you draft a sorry receiver like crabtree before edelman
Bro I rolled and smoked a whole blunt and typed this and ther are still naming people
