  • We are preparing big asymmetrical spinnaker and assembling all the necessary gear for top-down furling test on a typical 40 feet boat.
This video is primarily devoted to handling large A-type sails with a "soft", free flying luff. You will also learn how to fit an anti-torque stay to a continuous line furler and do a first launch of an asymmetrical spinnaker which is yet unrolled.
We are showing different A-sail varieties and explaining the modern cableless technology in sailmaking. Discussing the ultimate choice of a downwind sail for a cruising boat.
We will show all the components to build the furling system of your own. You can always find the best offers and all technical information on our website.

Hi, What would your recommend for the luff length of the asymatric spinnaker in relation to the length between the attachement points on the anti-torque cable? How many percentage % should the luff length of the sail be longer then the length between the attachement points on the cable, to have a asymatric sail for deep sailing that can still be furled up easily?

Hi, Do you sell a,Top Down furler for an asym Gennaker which is 140M2. We have a 14M Sailing Catamaran.

Hi, theoretically you would need a 4-4.5 t rated furler for a 45ft cat. But with a modest sized A-sail of 140 m2 you can surely use NS2.5 Top-Down model and save a lot of money. Should you choose to order a screecher (Code 0-1) later on, you will be using the same furling system for both sails. Please contact us nsfurlinggear@gmail.com

Do you always furl before gybing?

On a cruising boat without a long bowsprit - yes, that is the easiest technique: furl / unfurl on the opposite tack
