This work is presented for the first time in 8K video.
In addition to our standard microphone array, the audio was recorded in parallel with an 8 channel, 2nd order ambisonics microphone from Core Audio. The video was filmed using Sony A1 cameras.
The concerto was published in Amsterdam in 1711 as part of L'Estro Armonico (literally, "furious harmony"). Michael Talbot described Opus 3 as "perhaps the most influential collection of instrumental music to appear during the whole of the eighteenth century," and although that honor is usually reserved for Corelli's Opus 6, Vivaldi's collection influenced generations of composers, including J.S. Bach.

One of Vivaldi's best known concertos, the work has been covered by many soloists and is very well known to students, as it appears in Suzuki Violin Book 4.
0:00 I. Allegro
2:43 II. Largo
4:54 III. Presto
P.S. If you are learning this piece it is good to practice it slow!

It must be such a powerful feeling to be able to play Vivaldi so masterfully. It amazes me that every single finger movement and placement, and pressure on the bow is neatly tucked away in the brain ready to come alive anytime.
Also, this is a fantastic example of perfect recording engineering techniques captured in what sounds like an acoustically perfect venue...for once, the microphones are not placed too close to the players, thus eliminating that awful "scratchy" sound found in so many recordings of stringed instruments...
This is one of the BEST RV 356 as Baroque Version I have ever seen. Thank you very much!
You are very welcome.
Sorry Sir, this one with a full fledged AUGUSTA is hands-down THE BEST since , and I consider it very difficult to surpass 😮😮😮
I can't stop listening to this performance! I love it! ❤
Augusta's tone and articulation are so smooth!
This piece was playing when my mother died, making the experience of her passing quite heavenly, really. I will always remember it.
This brings back memories, the first "real piece" I learned when I was younger and always have a soft spot for it. Beautifully performed as usual.
if you do say so yourself....
The music of the red priest, played by a beautiful redhead on a matching violin...and what a moving performance, especially the gorgeous slow movement!
I'm listening with headphones and I feel like I'm right there beside one of the instrumentalists!
Augusta's performance is stunning!
Agree!
Vivaldi could be one of the best Metal composer in modern times lol
Hell yeah
Perfect...Finally someone that doesn't CUT the first before last note with the last on every fast movement. So sick of that mannerism. EXCELLENT PLAYING!
For me this concerto is one of the most underrated music of all times. The interpretation is also amazing!
Quadraphonic sound system in my phone? Not yet. Highy skilled and capable sound staff at Voices of Music are making fast progress to making the virtual feat doable. Kudos to these folks.
Antonio Vivaldi was a Genius! 🎶🎼🎻
This is amazing music
I'm beginning to run out of superlatives when commenting on any performance by VOM - they are all clearly 'soloists' in their own right! However, whenever they perform with outstanding individual soloists - either instrumental, voice or choral - they always manage to raise their music-making to an even higher level! Thank you, Hanneke van Proosdij !
Please tell me of another concert so enjoyable , so optimistic , so energetic, so .. PERFECT ! And all this, thanks to VOICES OF MUSIC, to McKay Lodge ( excellent ) , and off course to Vivaldi who is the musical genius of joy and happiness 😮 🎉🎉🎉
i don’t care how much praise vivaldi receives, he is always underrated for me
This is the best recording of this concerto on RUclips. It shows every little part of the music; every staccato, dynamic, and bowing. All of this comes with the soloist's incredible style and emotion. I am a middle schooler playing the first movement of this for a solo completion. This helps so much! Let's hope I get the best rating! Thanks
I’m so glad this video helped with your preparation. Best of luck to you in the competition! Most important is to have fun and enjoy the music. You’ll rock it!
Augusta
Thank you soo much! I hope I will be as good as you someday. Thanks again for your reply!
I've never heard the first movement played with such verve. The whole concerto is beautfifully done.
Just discovered this group...they are beyond brilliant!!
I agree, they are just wonderful
Such a lovely performance, this piece proves a nice piece can be played by either a professional musician or a violin beginner
Well said!
It’s INterEstInG that how this piece is so underrated
Right?
Underrated? Violin beginners might disagree.
Feels and looks like Augusta is on the stage of a heavy metal concert in the first part. Amazing!
incredible performances and the recording is sublime!
THanks!
That trill at 1:43 is amazing!
... Not to mention the amazing diminutions in the 2nd movement ! Vivaldi would be happy to see them play I'm sure !
It's good to see Voices of Music performing so many of the Vivaldi concertos for string ensembles. The instrumentalists always impress, the performances always of high quality, the acoustics always perfect.
I played this concerto when I was about 13 years old, I think every single violin student has practiced Vivaldi A Minor, RV 356, OP 3,Nr. 6...this was the best version I can think of! Generally a little faster than I'm used to. Sounds beautiful!!!! My father is a pianist and always accompanied me when I practiced. High talent or not. With a father obsessed with classical music, practicing the violin becomes torture.
Gonna buy myself an electric violin tomorrow..so excited 😆
Wow! Best performance I've ever heard of this, and I've heard a lot of them. These days we have a lot of Baroque bands to choose from, but in my humble opinion, VoM speaks the Baroque language as good or better than any of them. If I lived in the bay area, I'd sell my body until I had enough money to buy season tickets. These folks are just top drawer. No question about it. I am just everlastingly glad that they share some of their work here on RUclips. I would not have an opportunity to listen to them were it not for this.
Oh my god, it is so beautiful. Thank you Voices of Music!
This violinist has to be the best violinist I have ever listened to, she is incredible. Love love this piece thank you guys so much for your music ❤️💙❤️
The fast playing makes this piece more exciting. I used to hear and play it at a slower tempo.
An absolutely fantastic performance so wonderful sound🍃thank you
You are very welcome.
Vivaldi and Voices of Music= GOAT
This concerto s solos is soo beautiful, principally the 1st allegro s solos, the largo remembers me a little of bach (some parts of the largo) the presto is brilliant for me, the solos... I love Vivaldi!
Also the opening ritornello has a similar profile to the Bach A Minor concerto....
The first movement of this was one of my first real recital pieces in my early teens. Of course, I never played it anywhere near as well as Mrs. McKay Lodge, but I recall really liking playing it, it was such a fun piece. Bravo!Side note (heh): Is that a wedding ring with a black gem? That's cool.
i played that too when i was 10 years old,i didint do the solo, but it was satisfying doing the song with others and the solist, such a good experience!
My favourite Vivaldi Concerto.
I like your fast pace.

Thanks, Giorgio, everyone who votes helps us :)
@@VoicesofMusic I voted for you 💕 I really love and appreciate how accessible you make great period performance videos. I’m always looking forward to your uploads. You guys also personally inspired me to learn the viola da gamba during the conclave teen beginners class, so thank you for that.
The vote is yes to such skill in music. The vote will always be yes.
How do we vote?

Thank you VoM for another top drawer performance! I have neither the funds nor the physical ability to come see you live, but these offerings make a strong next best thing, and when you release a new video, it makes my week, and sometimes even my month. When you're home bound due to disability and your biggest interest is music with an emphasis on historically informed performances, this comes as a huge treat!
I was working toward a BMus and studying historically informed performance with Nic McEgan in the year when I became paralyzed as the result of being hit by a drunk driver. For that reason, I watch these with a bit more knowledge than the casual viewer, and appreciate the vast number of hours it takes first to become that good, and second, to put together a concert. Practicing to become that good really requires full dedication to your instrument and the art.. That is probably in part what gives me my affinity for the work you're doing. It's the sheer quality of your work which gives me my love of it.
If I lived near where you perform, I'd have to resort to 24 hour a day panhandling so I could get tickets to all your performances. It would be that serious an addiction.
A terrific performance. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Music coming directly from Heaven. Congratulation✌✌✌✌✌✌

Impressive and beautiful
Remarkable! 👏👏👏
Excelent performance!
Obra tan maravillosa, de tantas armonías. Este video me acompaña en mi trabajo.
such a joy to listen to
great. I think the soloist has a very specific sound. I like her individuality.
this is such a beautiful music and interpretation that I am not able to grasp how this happened. I listened to this piece many many times over the years but never heard such a magical playing and orchestra (even with masks on lol). Especially the Largo part is my favorite. In my opinion this has such an encaptivating atmosphere that not any other famous composer has ever achieved.
Thanks, LC!
Amen.
Augusta: Bravo!!!💯💯💯
I truly appreciate your ardent work for the early music. Hopefully I would join your concerts when I visit the Bay Area to see my friend.
