in what universe is a part time 4wd(mostly fwd) Mazda the best snow car? I'm a Jeep driver and if I wasnt I'd much rather be in a full time Audi Quattro or Subaru
@@brytonmunro5270 but I do. all the sensors in the world cant compensate for a transverse engine and tiny haldex. they do it to save money, why would you defend that. they even admit it by making the more expensive cx90 finally proper awd
I can remember only one time we have a big snow here in GA, the blizzard of 93. Don't remember how deep but it was deep. I was in Macon at the time and had to drive 100 miles home, I found concrete blocks and other stuff and put it at the tailgate of my 2WD S-10 and made it home without spinning out, weight save the day. I seen other trucks slipping and sliding and stuck. If I don't have to, I don't drive in snow because I'm afraid idiots will hit me. Oh, I now have a Mazda CX-5 AWD Carbon Edition I bought not long ago and I love it, except MPG. Quietest car I've ever drove.
my experience with my 2022 CX-5 Signature during first -30C day of ownership; check engine light on, parking brake light on, traction control light on, warning messages in dash: front radar sensor system malfunctioning, smart brake system malfunctioning, driver attention alert disabled. alert messages on Mazda app: parking brake malfunctioning, driver attention alert disabled, dynamic stability control malfunctioning, engine malfunctioning, front radar sensor malfunctioning, I active sense system malfunctioning, Mazda radar cruise control disabled, smart braking support (SBS) and forward obstruction warning (FOW) systems are disabled, traffic jam assist disabled, smart brake support (REAR) disabled. car stutters/misfires, not able to drive faster than 30km/ph. got my 1 year old car towed to dealership. other than that, great winter driver!
Hey man! Greetings from AZ 🌵✌🏽😅 was actually watching this to see how my new Mazda would perform on our Thanksgiving trip to Denver in a few weeks! Thanks for letting me get a glimpse 👏🏽 Lord knows it’s only seen sunny skies and a couple dust storms, but was curious on the snow handling 😄
Man that snow is nothing compared to what we get in South Dakota. Might be bad for where you live but we go through that from December through half of April
I was getting anxiety watching you drive on the highway!!!!! But great video , I bought a 2018 CX5 That I'll be driving 100 miles round trip in dead winter in Ohio looks like I'll be just fine and safe in my CX5
Owner manual said to do the front tires for AWD. We recently went to Mammoth and had chains.. did fairly well even with summer tires. (Curious how good this car is with winter tires and chains)
Hi I have a 2022 Mazda CX5 GT with winter tires on it. I got stuck in snow today and I noticed the front wheels were moving only. The rear wheels never worked, the front wheels were keep digging into the snow. Any idea why? Why my awd system didn’t work?
Thank you for the compliment ☺ the car is doing great if I didn't own the Mazda it would definitely be a Subaru there great all weather cars thanks for watching my channel and good luck with decision you can't go wrong with both makes!
I don't know where you get the idea you can't put chains of AWD, I do it all the time and did it millions times on my CX-5 in bad condition as well, and I even checked with the Mazda dealer when I did my routine service there and no one ever told me you can't do that.
As a New Englander I’m like what’s the big deal?!? This is like just another day in the winter, business as usual. Definitely don’t need chains for that shit lol.
This is not winter conditions. Trivial. Road was salted and sanded. Anything with decent tires including pickups with 2 wheeldrive are driving with no problem. And its flat. Phfftttpppp.
One of the best kept secrets in small SUVs is how good the Mazda cx 5 is in the snow.Nice useful review.
I wonder how big of a difference would it be with 2 wheel drive
You are an awesome drive, you remind me of how i taught my sisters and niece how to drive in weather better safe and aware than sorry
Thanks glad to hear Thanks for watching and supporting my channel 😀
MAZDA is the best car for the snow. I'm amazed! I feel safe driving it is the snow. I love it!

@@keponen331you don’t understand the complexity of Mazdas AWD system.

Subaru's are far superior.
@@familydad3241definitely, can't argue with that.

I have the 2018 CX-5 with summer tires & almost no grip in the front (will change soon) and its handling really good. Great review!

@Ruben Rodriguez on 2022 models there is no button to control the traction.
overall do you still recommend this for the snow????
Yes
learned a lot abt driving in the snow thank you !
Wish people would leave space when it snows
Like the music. Go Rush!
Did you have normal tyres on?
At 2:28 he says “I don’t have nothing on” which I take to mean he’s on stock tyres rather than he’s naked!
Great review! You're such a great husband.
Btw How's the car holding up now? I'm going between a subaru crosstrek and a Mazda Cx5.

What’s you’re mpg during this weather? We live in a similar climate zone, lol
I haven't really noticed a difference although it's not real cold here in Oregon

My dealer told me you can but did not recommend doing it because I was hard on the cv axles and transmission, just not worth the risk
