Wow, I never expected anyone to react to this film. As a Salem Witchcraft Trials nerd, I'm super stoked for this.

DDL's final monologue about his name has been etched in my brain since my 10th grade English teacher brought the movie in for my class to watch after we went over the book. No one embues his lines with more pathos or screams them to the heavens better than him.

I heard Louis Gossett Jr. died today, and I had an idea for a movie that would be fun to see you react to that would honor his passing. It's the 1985 science fiction drama movie Enemy Mine, if that's OKay? It's about a human and an alien whose races are at war and crash land on a hostile planet. They then have to put aside their hatred and prejudice for each other in order to survive until they're rescued. It's a really touching story and a great science fiction movie.

Mary Estey was my 9th Great Grandmother, so her sister Rebecca Nurse was my 10th Great Aunt. I am also related to others from the Witch Trials. So i was always fascinated by this play.

I was introduced to this in high school drama (I played Rev Parris), which led to me watching this, such a shame it was a box office bomb and become so overlooked all these years because good god, the acting in this is elite, especially DDL, Ryder, Joan Allen and Paul Scofield, and the story is delivered brilliant, sadly really timeless too...

My left foot and in the name of the father are two of DDL’s greatest performances and there’s virtually no reactions out there for them, he was Oscar nominated for both of them, winning for my left foot. Would love to see you react to them

Daniel Day Lewis is one of/if not the greatest actors of all time. He’s also always been extremely picky about his work. The Last of the Mohicans, My Left Foot, Gangs of New York, There Will Be Blood, Lincoln, all excellent

Thanks to Emily, Matthew and Pippin! 𖤐 The tale is important and, in some ways, timeless. One can surmise it originated from a play because director Nicholas Hytner opted for lots of running around to give it a semblance of motion, which couldn't occur onstage. 🔸 Since Emily appreciated Joan Allen... She's great in everything. I first noticed her in the temporal-mechanics/comedy/drama/fantasy directed by the great Francis Ford Coppola, PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED (1986), which I highly recommend.

Great movie and reaction. Getting angry was the response Miller was going for. As a lifelong New Englander, I've known the Salem witch story my whole life, and this movie showed a sliver of what it must have been like.
My favorite character in the story, and the one I admire most from the real event is Giles Corey. His "More weight", gets me every time. I find his defiance of that kangaroo court inspiring and admirable.
Another DDL colonial piece you might check out is Last of the Mohicans. It's another story you might have read in school. Perhaps easier to appreciate when it's not a school assignment.
Another young Winona Ryder you might try if you haven't already is Heathers. All I will tell you about it is that it's dark. Don't want to spoil it for you if you do decide to take it on.
    Again, great job guys.

Daniel Day Lewis is not a three time Oscar winner for nothing. "There Will Be Blood", "Gangs of New York", "My left Foot" for starters. The first film I ever saw with him was "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" in 1988 and appreciate that film even more now.
