Am I correct in thinking that lyrically this song is rejecting God? Capstan seems to follow this theme in many of their songs... I love the sound and musicality of this group regardless.
I believe that Capstan follows the beliefs of many in this day and age- God, to an extent. The higher power that is to be praised is not the higher power depicted in the Bible. The higher power to be praised is one’s self.
They're right to abandon the christian or catholic god. A god that punishes for free will that "he" gave to us as a tool sounds more like the devil in disguise to me.

A capstan is part of a ships mechanics. Pelicans are sea birds. But I think the artwork is depicting them moving to Florida from the Mid West.
