I like the channel because the videos show artists' pictures I have never see before. But the videos lack in-depth analysis. The narratives in the videos seem abrupt, with no transition between two thoughts. Someone mentioned in the comments to the other videos that AI was used for narration.
He is a figurative painter and some artists in 1950-60 was influenced by abstract art. The history of art has to show progression to a new age, however his theories about seeing and painting through the ages in Western art showed the person that an image came about due to mechanical devices. Art is a subject open to interpretation and in this respect the artist is free to do anything. Photography is only an aid to help the artist produce images. Reality can be seen and interpreted and due to his influence the practising artist can continue with knowing this, however he himself says that he was lucky to have had a good life in painting and exhibiting, while others do not.
The last lines of the video say: "In 2023, Hockney is today the best-known living British artist. His verve and curiosity are undiminished. " Certainly not written in the past tense as you suggest.
@@arti-facts-4u Did we both watched the same video? The video starts with "Hockney 1937-2023" and the whole narration is in past tense about him. It makes no sense if he is still alive.
If you look again you will see it says "Hockney 1937-2023+ ". It may be a clumsy way of doing it, but I was indicating that he was still going when I made the video.
That’s hilarious 😂, I’ve seen Hockney. He’s a talented realist painter but in order to “Make it” you gotta dumb down your work to a 3rd grade elementary school level of “art”. I’ve got scribblings from a 7 yr old that are strongly similar. And we all know how the elite roll. Wannabe’s gotta be into what they’re into. Monkey C monkey du
You have art an you have insanity. Both 2 very different things which the world confuses almost all the time especially s3xu4l abuse of women like picasso, dali, max ernst etcetera.....
Thank You… ❤ this was ( is) FABULOUS !!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great doc! And fyi: before Basquiat, there was Hockney! Just look at Hockney’s early works! So similar.
Awesome ❤👏👏👏😘 thank you
80+ paintings in 3 days?! Absolute madlad
Well, no....Hockney limited each painting to three days, not collectively.
I never noticed art till i was 55 and saw splash
I have been creating ever since
Gave me a new lease on life
new favourite channel. Dont even mind the text to speech
Thank you. I'm glad you like it.
What ever program they used for the text to speech should be mandatory for any person using text to speech voice overs!
Love this. My only suggestion - have the author or producer read the text - it could use a little David Attenborough effect. But great content!
Glad you liked it.

i might be the only one of your viewers who likes the ai voice, i think it makes everything more neutral
I agree
Even a year after this video, Hockney is still alive as of Feb.12th 2024. Why using the past tense? And why making it seem he died in 2023???

They loved it for sure!
Hockney's work is lifeless and boring.
