This is informative; thank you! I have been questioning whether to keeping learning Audacity or bite the bullet and put money down for Adobe Audition. Even though AA looks more complicated, the more I see you use it, the easier it looks over Audacity. It also offers more features as well.

Hey VOAngela, AWESOME information! At 3:05, did you create that Effects Rack preset? Can I book you for an Audition training session? I'm not a beginner, but you're doing a few things I'd like to pick your brain about.

Hi, Angela. I believe you have previously said to raise audio to -6db and in this video you mentioned that you raise audio to -3db (normalize to -3db). I’m a bit confused. I know that Anthony Pica says raise all to between -3db and -1db. Anything at -3db or above always seems to be too loud to me, but I believe clients want these levels. I’m a bit confused; commentary and HELP please. You have great videos, but more details please related to your actual editing process!

Anthony loves his recordings loud! ha ha! Usually, VO will be delivered anywhere between -12 and -6. More often than not I will normalize to -3 because I tend to have alot of modulation when I narrate. So normalizing to -3 for me, seems to be a sweet spot. :)

I live by this rule, -3db is the max you should send to a client. Whereas,-1db is the max you should use when uploading material to the internet for your own self-promotion (demos etc.). Also, voices.com recommends that your auditions be around -1db, in order to be heard and stand out. Keep in mind, not everyone is listening on top-quality pro speakers or headphones. Some clients are listening on their iPhone speaker. If you audition at -12 to -6, you will be passed over by the client for being too quiet. The -12 to -6 is merely a rule for *#recording**,* not what you actually deliver to the client.

How do I record my demos for audio books, so that I can post them on fiver? do I need to download adobe auditions? any other recommendations as far as audio apps go?

My earlier videos were sort of all over the place, admittedly. I have learned to take a subject and break it down for each newer video. Thanks for watching!

Hi Angela.. i really love your content and seriously this channel can really do much more better in just few days, But please target audience on topics which are really searching, for e.g. Tutorials for newbies like me who just want to take a start, tell them how to do voice over in a expressive way, how to deepen your voice, how to do training for reading scripts in flow.. take your audience step by step and you will see a significant difference... You are the sweetest voice-over trainer and you definitely deserve better !

@@VoiceOverAngela My pleasure ... Infact thank you for considering my comment.....I just shared my opinion because i felt this channel is under-rated. If I were at your place, at this stage, I would have focused on making shorter videos.. 5 min max, covering a single topic and present it in excellent way. Shorter videos increase the audience retention, and eventually result in more impression and views, which means more subscribers ! Once you get enough number of subscribers (like 10k) then you can go for detailed topics as you have made up the audience now, which will watch the video till end... I hope it makes sense.. All the best for your future, Stay blessed always
