That's how I started my Fiverr engine. I asked my daughter to hire me for my first order and leave a 5 star review. Once you get that first order under your belt other buyers start to come around.
Thank you so much!! I'm a new VO talent and all of your videos are extremely useful!! I've learned a lot from you. Right now, I have a gig listed on Fiverr already waiting for my first order. I'll follow your tips for a jump start!
I'm so glad you made this video! I've thought about doing this for a while but have been reluctant to pull the trigger because I'm terrified of getting banned.
Thanks alot will use these tips I was discouraged first month not getting anything. Now I'm taking a voice class and planning on upping my fivver more attention to it and getting acquaintances to utilize the tips you ended with.
Can highly recommend any way to take one of Mallory's classes. The vast well of insight makes tackling Fiverr super accessible and exciting. Thanks Bill AND Mallory!
Thank you❤! I’m just starting out and you just validated some ideas I was floating like a deal sent out to people I know or local businesses:)). Also, unexpected that you make more on Fiverr than Voices etc!
Excellent tips! Very helpful! I will set up my fiverr account tomorrow and have used others for small jobs so will contact them. I appreciate that you don't dismiss fiverr just because there are many beginners there or folks who may just be dabbling in v.o. as a side hustle. Thank you!
The thing about the establishment's gripes is that they're almost always spot on. But, because they're already established, they would be the ones who benefit the least from whatever new things they're whining about. So most of them don't see the value of it. In the meantime, their complaints are the ones that are listened to the most, thus improving the subject of their ire. So, listen to their ways and means(they have been tried and tested, after all), but if the establishment is raising a ruckus about something, it can be worth trying. Pay attention to them and whatnot, because they do have the experience. But, if something is worth their attention, then it's either really good or really bad.
I also wanted to add that once again this proves to get anywhere in life it is always who you know not what you know. I am disabled been bedroom bound for 11 years and am starting from scratch. I don't have anyone to piggyback on. It is so hard to get seen unless you have contacts which is just unfair.
It's not really unfair. The people with contacts worked hard in most cases to creat those connections. That's a big part of getting any kind of traction...networking. It's tough for sure. And even tougher for some. But, being bedroom bound doesn't have to stop the process. You can make online connections through various interest groups and through social media. It's not a fast process but does work. I've found that one of the best ways to get going is to creat a RUclips channel. Pick a topic you enjoy or are passionate about and do talking head stuff (like Bill here). You can even turn the audio from the video into a podcast episode. I know your situation different than mine, but I have faith that you CAN do it!
@@Uncle_Jon Thank you for your faith in me. I do have a YT channel and I have narrated three small books so far. I was just saying that in life who you know always opens doors quicker and easier :0) x
Love this advice! Mofia style algorithm play. Thank you so much sir, this program and your service to us has been putting so much good love into our lives. Thank you.
Thank you Bill so much for everything you provided to us.💯🙏🏾 I have come to a place where I am in a pause because I am not familiar with editing software and audio software how can I get more into it. I would like to create quality products from my home studio
I am genuinely not a fiverr fan, simple because of the rates. Although you are welcome to have your own rates, the market will force you to lower your prices. Secondly usage rights are bundled under 1 ‘commercial usage package’ which most voiceover artists charge a mere $20 for. Fiverr is a great place to learn and grow. But if you want to get paid properly you have to either go to Fiverr Pro, or do bulk work for less pay…
How long should someone expect to wait before you start earning on Fiverr when there is so much competition on the platform. Are you saying you earn more from Fiverr than any other platform and if so how long did it take you to get to that point?
Good questions! I'm in the _very_ early stages of diving into the VO industry. I'm not on Fiverr yet. But like any business - patience, endurance, and of course, the skillset are going to answer your main concerns. From this video alone, I can tell you where you should probably be paying attention : '_...should someone expect to wait...'_. We cannot _wait_ to start earning. I have the same questions, so I understand. Good luck and keep at it. 👍
As long as your profile/Gig is well-presented, looks professional, and your rates are decent then you should start getting some orders or at least messages/interest in the first month. Have a look at other people's Gigs who are doing well and use them as a basis. I've been on Fiverr for 2 months now, and so far have earned about $250, so it's not a bad start and will hopefully grow as time as goes on. It takes a LONG time and a lot of work to start earning big Bucks,l on Fiverr by all accounts, so don't expect this to be your full time job in the near future
Gary, This will depend entirely on where you set your pricing on the platform. Set it high as a newbie and your responses may be low, set it too low and you can get lots who want it free. It really depends on what you are willing to do to move up in levels.
@@ThrivewithGary remember the work is "finished work" meaning edited and pristine for delivery. What's your time worth? How good (fast) are you working with your DAW? Use multiple gigs and test your pricing to see what gets hit on the most.
Hi Bill, thanks for the advice. I was wondering, when it comes to giving them a reimbursement, what's the best way to do it? As in, is there a built in Fiverr refund system or would you go about using something like PayPal? For example, I ask someone to hire me for a 5 dollar job, and then I reimburse them those 5 dollars. Thanks
I only created an account recently and received two obviously fake messages. Is this common? One was a telegram link and the other was offering me(a total beginner) 850 dollars at "a rented studio near my location". Obviously I declined both lol.
Why do you need your first few messages and / or jobs from people you know that are already ON Fiverr? Why can't you just have regular friends go to Fiverr and hire you (and you reimburse them) for the small gigs to get started?
@@VoiceCoach-BillDeWees Great Answer, Bill...thanks ! So, how do we find folks on Fiverr and ask them to actually hire us for these small jobs in order to jump start our businesses? Seems kind of awkward on the surface...Could you go a bit deeper into this part of the beginning Fivver process?

Hey Bill I have question video over wise can fiver eventually help you get to tv shows, animation and maybe video games as well?
Some ppl go on there to find actors for their games and animations.
keep seeing fiverr hate, where else can you start out as a rookie that's worth it

Use as many Gigs for each level allowed. Each Gig will then get multiple impressions. 😉
