There is no "material" world. What we perceive as matter is immaterial potentiality (quantum mechanics supports this). God does create and sustain the external world, and we perceive it as He intends because we were created in the likeness of God, but there is still no "material" world. An external world, yes, comprised of living things (beings) and non-living matter (unformed potentiality).
