    Any recommenations for the following: MA 1050, HA 1250 old, 85cm Carbon Mast. Short fuse. Longer fuse ordered. Does a MA 1350 make sense for freeride on a lake? Struggle a bit with the HA 1250 to get it started in lighter wind. Maybe i need more time with 85cm and CF600. (coming from AXIS bsc1060, short standard fuse, 75cm mast)

    Hei Tucker, every you said here is so true 😃😃😃 thanks for providing guidance!! So ... I am still with the original 1050HA + s270 setup. I am pretty happy and still impressed by the amazing glide. Also the turning ability. The 1050 has a great low end too but it's limited to 10kts for me.
    I want to get a better low end (8-10kts). Which route is best?
    -1450HA (2023)?
    -SF1080 or SF1230?
    For full context: I am 75kg, 80L board, biggest wing a Nova V3 6.0. I ride on mostly flat lakes, which gets bumps in hi winds.
    I am leaning towards the 1450HA since it works with S270 too and maybe I can use it with a future dw board?
    Keen to hear your thoughts! I want more of the same just with lower wind basically. 🙏 Thanks

      I'd say just jump into a DW style board. You may get a little more low end on a 1450HA but the DW board is necessary for those super light winds.

    Tucker great and informative review as usual. Have 2200R and 1350MA. In one of your replies I saw you recommend HA better than MA for light wind. Sometime with MA1350 and light wind I struggle to take off. You think HA1250 or 1150 easier for take off? Thanks a lot

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  Год назад

      That would depend on your conditions and ability but I do find the HA1050 much easier to start than the MA1050. I'd guess you'll do better on the HA1250 and the HA1150 might be similar to your MA1350. -Tucker

    Hello! thanks for the video. I have some questions:
    1- Now I have the MA1050, in your opinion, what do I gain and what do I lose if I buy the HA850, in comparison.
    2- Which one has more top speed and which one is able to go better with light wind.
    3- The s210 stabilizer is compatible with HA850. Or is it preferable to buy the s208.
    4-The s208 stabilizer is compatible with MA1050, or should I continue to use the s210 with it.
    Thanks!!

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  2 года назад +1

      1- The turns remain pretty similar but the HA850 is more capable at high speeds.
      2- The HA850 is notably faster and has better glide but requires more speed for lift.
      3- I prefer the 210 or 208 stab to maximize the top speed and glide on the HA850.
      4-Yes, you can also use the 208 on the MA1050 but you will lose some low speed lift.

    What foil setup would you recommend for a kite foiler looking to start winging? I'm 180lbs and have a north kite foil rig already with 1150 wing. I've heard bigger is better for a beginner, was thinking the MA1350 or maybe the 1850R. Thanks

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  Год назад +1

      1850R would be best for light wind learning. If you have decent wind and flat water you can learn on a MA1350 for sure, you'll just need a bit more wind. -Tucker

    I'v had both North foils and Sab foils and find the finish quality on the North a much higher quality, I'd put it on par with the brands over 2K, I really struggle to find any faults with the North foils and the range just keeps getting bigger and better. Its so easy to pack away and set up as well compared to the armstrong fuse and mast connection
    What sort of speeds have you managed to get on the 850HA?
    Thanks for the review

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  2 года назад +1

      Hey James, I'm not a speed freak and I don't GPS myself but the 850 is pretty stinking fast. As fast as I need to go anyway. It's less about the top speed for me and more about the glide and efficiency. The ability to ride a smaller foil in the swell for maximum control and glide. It's a very easy foil to ride fast and you are going faster than it feels like which is a nice feeling.

    Hi. Great positive review. There's no information on the HA850 on their website, what are it's specs? Also seems lately all the foil reviews lately are positive, you may need to start adding comparative descriptions to help identify what to choose next. Regards. PS: As an idea choose a point in time eg: each quarter or half year and do a video on all the foils you've tested during the last period and provide summary pros and cons against the various foils.

      These will be released soon. I do plan to do a "Tucker's Favorites" video soon. The truth is... most of our brands are making exceptional foils and it's only the small details that separate them. Very hard to choose these days but hard to make a bad choice too. Oftentimes comes down to mast choices, accessories, price, niche performance, and board compatibility. -Tucker

      Thanks for the additional information! 🤙🏽 It's great to have specific weight comparisons for the different parts of the North Sonar Foil System, as this can help riders make more informed decisions when choosing their gear. The weight savings of the carbon components over the aluminum ones are significant, and can make a big difference in the overall performance and handling of the foil. It's always a good idea to consider the weight, stiffness, and durability of the different components when choosing your foil gear, as these factors can greatly impact your riding experience. Thanks again for sharing this helpful information, and if you have any more questions or comments, feel free to ask. Good winds! -Aaron

      As a Sabfoil user the comment that caught my attention at 5:44 .."no whistle out of the box"... I am so done with Sabfoil right now... After being on North wings I am crossing over to their foils .. also the amount of info North puts out there on which wing for which use case is very useful. Sabfoil is so weak in this department. In a world where we cannot always test wings before buying it's so critical to have proper and complete product info and info on the entire range
