Once again I come back to this video. It's a late evening after not exactly a tough day but atleast in a tough time for me. I didn't intended to search for this, but it drags me here. It's not the first time I stranded here after a few videos on youtube. I've got a vague memory of finding your song for the first time. I still was in school and I was in an intense NOFX phase. I loved the band, but until I heard this version of Lory Meyers I couldn't quite grab why. It's the melancholy that's inside the melodies and lyrics of NOFX that are so often hidden behind their "happy" and ironic sound. In this version all the intensity and weight of the song comes through. Still it doesn't make it to obvious. It somehow fits the topic so much better than NOFX's version. When I heard this for the first time I was baffled. And I came back many times and got baffled again. It never stopped touching me. I remember that I atleast once cried, when I heard this. This version of this song helped me through a lot. It's just so beautiful. I can not describe how I feel when I hear this now. I just want to say thank you. Thank you Billy the kid.

(Critic first: if you screamed a few parts like in the original it would have been a flawless masterpiece). Now, this was my favourite in high school, i'm still convinced the lyrics and the whole tune make it an atypical and unique punk rock song, much beyond its genre in my opinion.
