Hey Matt. Any tips on how to keep the rifle from spinning around the barrel's axis during these? I can do SoL and Single tosses without it spinning, but when I toss doubles, it almost always (probably 80%) spins around the barrel axis. Not sure of the best way to correct that while still getting the height and spin needed for higher tosses. Thanks.

It’s likely one of three things (most of which get corrected before they begin by using this method):
      1) As you release, to gain the additional rotation, the driller is twisting outboard with the fingers causing the rotation. Checking into the fingers pulling directly back and not allowing them to roll off the rifle is usually the fix.
      2) As you release, the entire hand is being pulled outboard of the shoulder rather than lifting the rifle through the armpit. This usually happens when the outboard pull of the arm is compensating for the strength needed to get the rifle high enough in the air. You can use the the same tossing exercise in the video with a higher maximum height to practice the lifting motion. Usually, the other hand comes into play to help guide the rifle straight forward which is why a proper prep is so important. Pushing forward on the sling with the thumb can help stabilize the rifle.
      3) The wrist is breaking at the last moment before the release. It should lock into the forearm and not bend outward. This break on the wrist can introduce lateral motion on the rifle.
      Hope this helps!
