  • Be careful and do the math before you pull that trigger guys!!! How much is it really worth? Can you do at least 75% of the work yourself? How long will it all take? What is the real resale value? Think and crunch numbers before you make a bad expensive mistake.

Your 100% right on.... Unless you have money to burn a rusty shell is not worth the time...now a ultra rare car ok but then being ultra rare the parts are going to be expensive. But you should be able to get the money back when you sell it... Your better of buying a car already done...and if you do get an ultra rare car spending any where from 25k to 150k+++... Your going to want to insure it in case of a total loss that won't be cheap either.... The only way your going to get a car under 10k that you can drive and not be afraid to wreck it or lose it some other way is to do all the work your self and start with a run of the mill car... Like my 72 slant six dart I got for free I have less than 2k in that car and I have modifed it running a roller cam 318 spool mount k frame from a dart sport parts car I bought for $200.... Even my current tow vehicle my 87 ramcharger I got for $500 with no engine but being skilled I had an engine laying around to put in it. But times have changed it isn't so easy to find another roller cam 318 for $200 including transmission.... Sure you can go on believing uncle Caveman about building a car under 1k but who wants a car that constantly breaks down.... Not me my 76 charger I would drive anywhere same with my 74 charger and like I said my 87 Ramcharger is the rock 8 years my daily never broke down...knock on my wooden head lol my 84 ramcharger was 10 years previously never broke down.... But this is all due to having the skills to fix any system on any car or truck not something a novice just starting out will know how to do....and in the future your correct it is going to get very expensive to keep an old car around just ask the OBD1 guys they have many more miles of wire in their cars...just imagine the nightmare restoring a OBD2 car in the year 2150 with 30 or more computer modules onboard...yeah break out the $$$$$$... The key today is knowledge and skill and knowing when to walk away before you get in over your head... Man I'm just glad I'm a hoarder from way back! 😂😂😂
