Good call on this young ladies part for knowing when to call it and not chancing further worsening of an injury. Great example for all current or future gymnasts! Wishing for a speedy recovery
Really wonderful gymnast and very smart of her to opt out for the moment. I really hope she’s okay. It’s so difficult when something like that happens because it only takes a split second or the slightest change in body position to have a really painful landing like that. I’m sure she’ll be back and hope she recovers quickly
Me too! You can see she is the pain in her face before she even finishes the landing. I wonder if it scared her thinking it was an ACL, MCL injury at first but when she realized she was able to still walk downplayed it a little. She made the right move stopping though because Marta Pihan did the same thing on her first pass, kept going, and eventually her ACL completely gave out on her dance.
Can ACL injuries come from hyperextending from the back or front? I thought it was from it twisting. If not, I’ll guess it’s just a sprain or a torn MCL or meniscus.
@@EmilyS1234 I might have worded it wrong but I’m not saying she did tear her ACL or MCL. I’m saying in the moment extreme hyper extension like that can shock an athlete. If they have shooting pain through the calf, usually a gymnast’s instinct is that they injured their ACL. I think when she was able to stand up after it she knew it wasn’t that and downplayed the injury at first. But yes extreme hyperextension like what you see in slow mo here can tear an ACL. However, I don’t think the injury is terribly serious and she just stopped out of precaution. Edit: I think a sprain is most likely! Hopefully she didn’t tear anything and has a short recovery time!
As someone who landed on one leg hyperextended and tore my PCL.... at least these gymnasts are very strong and she landed on two legs. That said I hope nothing is torn!
So painful! My daughter just had her 4th ACL surgery. A horse blew her knee out for her when she was 16. Even just walking has been incredibly painful and because she had no ACL, her knee would buckle forwards. Hurt just to watch her
Yeesh, she should count her blessings. I don’t want to bring up the double front landing, and mention the girl that had to experience that awful injury in competition (ifykyk), but that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw this.
Ouch. Looks like being rear ended by a mack truck. Hope she's okay and gets healthy soon. Great try. Bravo to the commentators for their positive comments and support of Caroline.
that's never good i've already landed a tucked double front on the mini trampolim this way with my knees locked and let me tell you it doesn't feels good, mine wasn't hyperextended as hers but still my knees were sore for the rest of the day just to show you how bad those can be, even a soft lock leged landing can already make u hurt
who are injured now? Heduit with this unfortunate landing, Melanie still limited to bars and beam, Charpy with tore ACL and meniscus, Devillard is out too (what is her injury?), is there anyone else?
I’m happy her coach didn’t tear into her. She looked comfortable telling him. Some coaches are so hard on their athletes
I am pleased how compassionate and complimentary the announcers were.
Heal fast, Carolann!

Merci pour les nouvelles, Mr Heduit.
Merci pour les nouvelles!
bon retablissement !!
Merci pour le nouvelles ! Mes meilleurs voeux de prompt rétablissement pour Carolann !
Prompt rétablissement à elle ! Bonne continuation !
A very wise decision for this girl. The commentators are really professionals, no side comments during the fall.
i prefer BBC commentators waaaaaaayyy more than the annoying American ones because of things like that

Moments like then remind us all how dangerous gymnastics can be.
Been there done that many times. Broke both ankles at one time
Lock knees, hyperextended. It's looks scary, I hope she is fine.
yess she is fine there is nothing serious
So happy it wasn't to serious😂😀😃😄😅
Ouch! Tough on the knees and also almost looks like whiplash from the shock of the landing on her neck. Hope she heals quickly!
Me too!
She said she was fine after, it was just the shock and pain after that bad landing
Robb Duarte oh good!!
she’s lucky that wasn’t worse. poor girl. that’ll be sore for a couple weeks :(
Compassionate announcer. Wishing a speedy healing for this young and beautiful gymnist.

Hope she's okay ❤️
weee I started screaming when I saw that landing, I hope her knees are okay
I'm surprised she didn't stop immediately ...

@@kristiankowalski2854 Thanks for the clarification!
Edit: the injury is not serious.
Good for her, smart athlete. Heal up and come back stronger!
Poor thing :( that looks painful and the thoughts going through your head when you know you’ve likely just ended your season. It’s just brutal
Very brave. And very wise to stop if you don't feel right.
She’s very talented! Heal soon!
Good for you dear one, they are not robots that need mechanical repair!
They’re only human, no-one is perfect!
Bless her heart. I hope she is okay.
Ooo,just watching that landing makes my knees hurt
poor girl, i know how bad that hurts but it could have been worse. just glad it wasnt too bad.
Why?Why? Did I watch, I usually make it a point to NEVER watch gymnastics injuries!!!
Brave lady... It was really a good decision to back off than worsening the injury.
Watching this in 2024, is that Kayla Namour's coach?
Very very hard to see... but, bon courage Carolann ! see you soon again
When they show it in slow motion, you can really see the way her knees were bent when she landed.
Cela me fait pleurer😢😢j'espère que ce n'est pas trop grave😶
Des résultats de l irm?
That landing will cause a mental block for a lifetime. Im glad she retired so young, she can find a life outside gymnastics
how is she now? Someone know something?
She’s okay.
@@EmilyS1234 Great!!! She had a dangerous landing, i'm got a scared
I haaaaate locked legs on landings!!!! They scare the heck out of me!
i’ve never flinched harder😭😭
Get well soon

The slow mo is scary ahh
Arme Mädchen. Tut mir so leid 😥
Best decision: do not continue the routine, to avoid injury
O baby girl❤️❤️
Ouch , that definitely hurt .

Ouch!
I don't see the need to upload this. I know you put the warning, but it's unnecessary. Wishing her the best.
Yikes that could have been so much more worse than it could have been
Wow that could have been bad. Glad it wasn't worse
French Artistic Gymnast, Carolann Heduit is going to be okay with ACL needs recovery from injury.
Poor girl
Poor thing!!

Poor kid
Poor thing
Again an another French girl injured omg...
France has had a stroke of bad luck. Something is wrong. France doesn’t usually get this type of luck, this is looking suspicious.

@@anikokoren3417 Besides the 'who is injured now', I totally agree.
@@anikokoren3417 yeah i'm pretty sure there is also aline friess who only came back recently from an injury
@ Carolann is actually fine, so she’s still on the road to Tokyo.
