You dont know how much i appreciate this video Jodi, as a fellow girly that has dealt with acne on and off it feels so comforting to know that its just something that many of us go through! And your makeup SLAYED. I hope you see this message and jnow that youre being such an incredible rolemodel to us girls and youre the most beautiful inside and out 🩷🩷🩷
Hey Jodi, I have felt more drawn to your content over the past year. I realized we had a lot of things in common. I also really enjoy your demeanor and humor. As someone who has struggled with acne my entire hormonal life? LOL Essentially, since I was 13. It has been very comforting to see some of the people I look up to and admire, work through similar situations. Thank you so much Jodi for sharing these bits of your life that are typically not mentioned. I wish you the best of luck with your skin. I'm sorry for how uncomfortable It must be. I understand how hard it is to move on with life when your face struggles. But I hope you know, you're not alone and this content likely resonates with many other girls.
Hey Jodi, I cried watching this. Just last night, I ranted to my bf how bad I feel and how ugly I see myself now because of my acne rash breakout due to hormonal imbalances, I've tried so many things to hopefully find a solution, but still at a lost. I've been told to accept it as it is, but because I am aware that my skin can be better, its so frustrating. I just hope it does not affect the way I love myself, because it does. It's so difficult when you see someone you ate when you look in the mirror. Thank you so much for sharing this, you slayed so hard btw.
you have no idea how much this means to me, i always look up to you and so many of the girls in OTV (+ friends) and knowing now that something i struggle with you struggle with too brings me so much relief. I know many people idolize big creators and it can be really unhealthy, but creators like you who show these imperfections help prevent that unhealthy idolization as well as helping better connect with your audience. we love you
love you jodi! my family has been really harsh about my acne lately which has made dealing with the process a lot worse and harder mentally. you being this open and relatable abt it is super refreshing so thank you!
I’ve also been dealing with seemingly untreatable acne for YEARS. I recently had an allergy bloodwork panel done bc I’m sick of it and I am starting to think it’s something systemic. I was positive for 3/5 of the antibodies for celiac. Never had stomach issues and still don’t. Stopped eating gluten and ngl my skin is NOTABLY clearer. And when I have something with gluten like cake or something, I break out within a few days and it continues for like a week before it calms down again and starts to heal. Obvs can’t diagnose anything but girly if you’re as desperate as I was, try that celiac & allergy panel.
I totally feel that. I found out dairy made mine worse but I basically had an allergy to plain milk...If I eat cheese I'm fine and icecream I can have a bit. 💁♀️ (I have adult acne, probably from an initial allergic reaction to a face mask/antibiotics.).
Thanks for this Jodi, i appreciate ya showing your bare face (your makeup skills are so good, ive never noticed acne!), I'm definitely taking notes on how to better mine
You might have fungal acne aka folliculitis 😢 that's what I have on a part of my cheek😞. Check for ingredients that cause that if that's the culprit. Also, food.... you might be allergic to certain kinds of food. Have a food diary, so you know exactly what you're eating to know what's triggering breakouts. I would also suggest using your red light every day or every other day to have consistent results. When I use mine everyday, I notice clearer skin more consistently. And most importantly... know that you're beautiful!❤✨
This! Although the thing is she already knows she’s allergic to a bunch of stuff and I imagine she’s been to professionals to help figure it out but just not found the right cause
I was coming to the comments to say that I have it as well! There is actually a website that will show you what will flare your skin up and which products cause your yeast to grow!
Offering my two cents, feel free to ignore. There is a condition that most doctors dont know or care about called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). I've been following you for a couple of years now and random rashes, random pain flares, menstrual issues and disturbances, are just some of the issues associated with it. It really affects everything. I'd feel bad if I didn't at least mention it once because it really isn't talked about leaving many to suffer unkowingly. I know it can be annoying for people to throw possible answers at you when you have tried everything already so dont worry this will be the only comment I'll ever make on it lol. Good luck Jodi!
my skin is just like yours and its really nice to see you share this because i think you’re beautiful so it makes me feel like i can see myself that way too
Jodie, I already am a big fan but this video has made me feel seen ❤ As a girly who’s struggled with acne, acne scarring and hyperpigmentation for so many years and still in my early 20s, it means so much to see someone I admire (and in the public eye) embracing their natural skin & being real with us xx You’re so beautiful with or without makeup ! & this LOOK is givingggg 💅 Thanks for giving me the confidence to embrace my own skin 🥹
Thanks for being open about your acne. I didn't have acne when I was a teen and end up with adult acne after I had a bad reaction to a face mask and an allergic reaction to antibiotics.
i feel you!! just when my skin condition was finally looking up and i was considering treating the scars i had, my skin started breaking out again the past few weeks
this video means so much to me. ive recently been having trouble just like this for the last 3 months and its so frustrating for me because, as you have said, rinse and repeat. im so glad im not alone, i appreciate you jodi!
Jodi! I experience it too. Sometimes if they can't find the cause, it's stress related. I currently have a breakout right now and my doctor has said it's been caused by stress. I hope everything gets better for you! ❤
I honestly never expected that you also struggle with acne. Thank you so much for sharing this, its comforting to know that such a beautiful woman could struggle with the same skin issues i struggle with ❤
This is so comforting because I feel the same way whenever I have breakouts and it completely messes with my productivity and going out activities, but after watching this video, I still think you’re soso pretty, so maybe it’s all just in my head.
I suffered from terrible acne more than half my life. Constant acne, not flare ups. So I feel your pain. For me it did not matter what cleaning agents I used. After talking with a specialist they confirmed that if the problem was actually with my glands (which they expected), I was never going to be able to stop that with skin products. In the end I was prescribed an isotretinoin treatment. That was a terrible time. Everything chapped, they had me do regular blood work to make sure my liver values stayed on track, and I was not able to finish the entire course. But I am glad the specialist put me through that. It has not cleared up completely, but my face has been basically acne free for years now. Not for everyone, but for anyone reading who also has a really bad time, please go and talk with your doctor and see if oral medication isn’t more suitable than topical (over the counter) ointments!
I have sensitive skin and used to break out and swell up a lot but I started using clindamycin and it works amazing!! It helps with acne and with reactions so it’s great! My skin is so clear now
I had cystic acne then post accutane i had the same acne as this. Rashy. I went to a new derm after a year and a half and started a retinoic acid cream of .05. Not to be confused with a retinol. My skin purged like crazy for a month straight but now i am relatively clear besides the odd pimple during my period. Anyway i know it’s annoying to receive unsolicited advice on ur acne so apologies. Love ur content! Xoxoxo
I’ve also been dealing with outbreaks too so this is really refreshing to see! Have you ever tried azelaic acid? Whenever i have rash like skin symptoms, azelaic acid clears it right up 😊
i love you for this🫶as someone who deals with really bad acne this made me feel better that i’m not the only one who’s going through a rough time🥹 ily jodiiii🩷
If the scars leave dark marks I recommend Kiehl’s dark spot corrector serum. It works well and for someone who gets break outs when trying something new it did not break me out. Although I know everyone’s skin is different, I still recommend giving it a try.
oh my i thought u had the most clear skin til i saw this. i feel ya tho , been breaking out more this past month and ihave no idea why. even a couple of zits makes me panic.
It is somehow so healing to see beautiful women have natural skin. It seems like with beauty standards now a days you are deemed as less if you have bad skin and it makes me so happy to know that Jody struggles with the same issues. I LOVE YOU AND I THINK YOURE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING W & W/OUT ! 🩷
salicylic acid isn’t best for day, because it will make your skin super sensitive to the sun even though you may have sunscreen on. i recommend using la rocket posay cleanser, you can use both night and morning.
if it's hormonal acne, just a tip from one girl to another with hormone issues. I take myo&d-cryo inositol, and it seriously seriously seriously helps me. I just mix it in my water and it doesn't taste like anything just a little sweet. IDK IF IT WILL HELP but I wish someone had told me about this supplement sooner. ALSO, IT'S SCIENCE BACKED!
I love Jodi and y’all in the comments it’s like DAAAMN PEOPLE NICE and it’s makes me feel at ease coz I had the same reaction to this video and people are like “You have NO IDEA how much this video means to me” and i’m like GIIIRRRRL SAAAAAME😭😭😭 I just wish everyone who sees it a good day,a nice meal and to have something to smile from🩵
This was me for a while but then I stopped having dairy and I realized I was actually using too much skin care for acne that it was drying out my face. I just have one bha serum and the rest is for moisturizing and just maintaining that skin barrier
I found a night exfoliating cream with 10% mandelic acid and it helped clear out my face. I don't have severe acne but, in my case, the salicylic acid cleanser doesn't help and this cream worked out perfectly in clearing out my skin.
STOP TOUCHING APLICATORS DORECTLY TO YOUR FACE!!! it makes it worse i swear. this happens to me all the time and it used to spread everywhere and now it stays in a quarter or toonie size. game changer.
Makeup in general. No one knows if these brands' chemicals are the culprits for not getting rid of the acne if all women do are constantly put the chemicals on 😢. It's not gonna get better if you keep putting shit on it
Hey Jodi, it’s something that I struggle with too. Not sure if you’ve already posted this, but what products are you using to clear up your skin as mine doesn’t really ever clear up Thanks!
It could be the weather or season changes too. You will find your cure. It'll end eventually as time goes. I've never seen old ppl with acne so yeah you wont have it all your life. This is a youth problem. It means youre still young.
omgggg mood TT_TT I developed a sensitivity to salicylic acid and I'm verryyy allergic to benzoyl peroxide (I get hives) and nothing makes you feel like you're 15 years old like adult acne in your 30s .-.
Hi Jodi! Im an esthetician from Washington. I heard you mention that you had been doing red light therapy but I was curious if you had heard of blue LED light therapy ?
Have you considered going gluten free? Older sister had a friend who had some crazy bad ecezema some years back. Cleared it up after just a month or two HEY, LISTEN, HEY!
@BRATcharliwx_cxhow about you share with the class then? Hmm? Because op has a great point. Makeup in general. No one knows if these brands' chemicals are the culprits for not getting rid of the acne if all women do are constantly put the chemicals on 😢. It's not gonna get better if you keep putting shit on it
I had been watching skincare content for a while, and them a short come in with a familiar voice. Couldn't recognise who it is. See the name of the channel. Hmm... the only name i know of is a streamer, but i don't believe i had seen her do skincare before...wait! It is her! Unfiltered Jodi at her struggles. It's amazing that i followed her yet couldn't recognize without her full beat face. May her woes with her skin cleared up sooner. 🥲

I’m so grateful for you making this video 😭😭 coz I’m literally crying for my hormone acne the other days

This is the type of attitude that is lacking in todays internet.
Wow! Thanks for the info! I never knew of that condition
my skin is just like yours and its really nice to see you share this because i think you’re beautiful so it makes me feel like i can see myself that way too

Sorry this is happening :( as a person who has a different severe skin issue on my face, I feel you. Thanks for sharing your experience
It's amazing that you are so comfortable sharing something so vulnerable. Very comendable. Also, makeup god???? I would have been none the wiser.

How do you clear the scars? I get pie marks afterward and I just cannot get rid of them ;-; Thanks for the acne-clearing tips btw

It kind of sounds like bacterial acne, but I could be wrong, I just say that because it sounds like my acne, I'm sorry you have to deal with this too.
Possibly you should visit a gastroenterologist, this can be connected with intestinal problems or intolerances to certain foods
you’re acne looks so pretty on you

A good dermatologist fixed things for me; no expensive skincare product makes any difference whatsoever-it’s all marketing
Hey Jodi, it’s something that I struggle with too. Not sure if you’ve already posted this, but what products are you using to clear up your skin as mine doesn’t really ever clear up Thanks!

I used accutane and never had that issue again

Off topic, this hair color is gorgeous on you!
Genuinely Jodi, you’re beautiful either way, just so you know.. 🫶🏽💕💕💕💕💕💕
It could be rosacea
rosacea does not look like this.
Still gorgeous
Eating blueberries is good for your skin and gut biome. I'm not saying that's any sort of cure, but just a fun fact.
Hi Jodi! Im an esthetician from Washington. I heard you mention that you had been doing red light therapy but I was curious if you had heard of blue LED light therapy ?
I’m 35 and my skin is very similar
idk sheeeeit but perhapz it could be related to birth control?
Have you considered going gluten free?
Older sister had a friend who had some crazy bad ecezema some years back. Cleared it up after just a month or two
HEY, LISTEN, HEY!
Do you eat enough fruits. They say you are what you eat
Ever think that the rash comes back again and again because you wear make up everyday? 🤔
@BRATcharliwx_cxhow about you share with the class then? Hmm? Because op has a great point. Makeup in general. have you checked with your gyno? i dealt with sudden acne too in my 20s and apparently it’s because of something called PCOS 🥲
