you dont have to max out any talent except for maybe lockpicking (and even then you can still go to the blacksmith and give your armor certain talents such as vigor, lockpicking and science. always have everything else on lvl 2 because once you get closer with your companions (and achieve the "friendly" status) they will all give +1 to a certain talent so whenever you need a 3 point talent to access a place or whatever you can just swap to that companion or use the gear that you crafted and you're good to go. just a small tip so new people dont their waste talent points

@@xninjagrrl deadly premonition falls into a similar category for videogames as the room does for movies. It certainly has it's 'so bad it's good' qualities but I love the game for its weird characters, unusual plot and quaint feel. That being said the gameplay was very janky, but two worlds seemed to have little to no redeeming qualities (though I haven't played it, just what I've heard). I'm happy it turned out fairly well. I think a lot of people miss the Bioware that came out with Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 1. That Bioware is long since gone though, and there's a bit of a vacuum for that type of game maker. I'd rather have jank than whatever it is that Anthem was.

This is the review I was waiting for. Game came out, this was the first review on my list. I love Technomancer for what it is, and shared a lot of the same views as you did on it. I don't mind a bit of jank as long as the game has a lot of heart and love behind it. With the progress Spiders is making with each of it's games, you can see the steady improvement they are making with each new titles that comes out. I really hope one day they finally have the budget to push the game they truly want to make.
Like a few people mentioned we need more games like this, more titles from smaller studios that are full of heart, more a long the lines of the titles that came out during the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox Era of gaming. Less about the AAA, and making live service style games.
Thanks as usual for the indepth and awesome review. Due to the fact we have similar tastes, this is a total buy for me.

I saw this game on the xbox gamestore. I thought it looked fun so i looked for a review of it. I expected to search it and find an IGN review or something along those lines. I didn't find any of them, however I found ACG. I had never watched a video from him before and saw the 22 minute time stamp and thought "Oh man, that's a long video" but after looking at the other videos available i chose to watch this one figuring if it wasn't much about the game I would just stop watching, however he never fell off onto a tangent about anything but the game. It is clear that these videos are well thought out and a lot of time and effort is put into the videos. Any game review i see in the future will be held to the standard of ACG and I wont be surprised when they don't hold up.

I've been playing it for about two hours now, still in the starting area, and I really enjoy what I've seen. I love the fact that you see, immediately, how useful and important your skill choices are. I chose Charisma at character creation and while that has left me feeling a bit blue-balled when it comes to all the locked chests lying around, I was able to talk my way past several situations which I might not have, otherwise. It sounds like this constant reflection on your skill choices continues into the game and that pleases me.
Sure, the title is still AA, which means the graphics and some mechanics feel like they belong in 2014, but if one goes in acknowledging that this is a small studio with a smaller budget than a triple-A title, it's entirely forgivable.

@Simp Knight I got stuck in the amount of quests in that game. I liked it for a month or 2 inspite the colourless world. The anime was dark and almost depressing, think the style should have been a lot more like the game. Also the pawn was not optimal used or explained, it was just there because it was in the game.

The comment about Two Worlds struck me so hard. I didn't have a pc for a long time. When I finally got one, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion was among the first games I played on it. I loved it so much that when I saw Two Worlds I naively thought "another game like that! Pc games are magic!" I instantly bought it and learned that they are magic, but not always the good kind.
