This is only my take on what I think is going on. Ed Sheeran asked Wiley to do a track with him when he was on the up. When Wiley asked for the return favour Ed Sheeran said he couldn’t, his company wouldn’t let him. So next thing he’s doing a track with the‘king of grime’. So. So the tracks are diss tracks. On a trip to London, Drake called Wiley goofy. Everyone was surprised when Wiley only responded with a few tweets and instas. On (2) Everyone was laughing at him doing old dad moves. Apparently, ( I haven’t watched enough Drake videos to tell but the one in The Game looked familiar) they’re all Drake moves. Oh how they laughed. That’s not a dig at you guys I think just about everyone did.If it’s true and it’s very Wiley, talk about revenge being a dish best served cold. Drake moves, that’s how Wiley moves... Side note: Durrty Goodz did a diss to Drake about this time, at the end he gives Wiley - it’s kind of a slap. I wonder if these two things are connected in lighting a fire for this new project. Now I know you know that Grime is 140 bpm, bars, lots of them and good ones. If they have a double or triple meaning even better. I think the best way to describe it being is like black ink. Where the octopus squirts ink one way and then darts the other way. I’ve chosen two examples from what a lot of people thought were the weaker bars at the end. It seemed to fall a bit flat with the Bob the builder end. He did bring the beat. Undeniable. Is he the best lyricist.? Does he have the best flow?(I personally do love his flow - but there’s better)the answer is no. But he doesn’t care, it’s the battle. He’s a big American sports and boxing fan. I think he sees it like that a boxing match. Sometimes you win sometimes not. It’s getting in the ring and doing it. Stormzy got bodied by both Cadell and Dot too on the same day this one dropped. Stormzy is a top 10 UK artist that crosses several genres. Wiley is a top 10 UK Grime MC. There is a huge difference. From a purely Grime perspective Stormzy got buried BUT he should never have been in the clash in the first place, as an artist, he is not Grime. Had Wiley sent for Avelino, Dave, Ghetts, Goodz, Wretch, Kano and so the list goes on, then it would be a different thing. Dot Rotten killed both Wiley and Stormzy in the same week as far as Grime goes but clearly Stormzy is running his own ship, in his own lane and he is winning in life, but not in Grime. We're heavily debating this one bro...we both are fans of Mac's music for sure.
