We've already offered £35m + sell on clause for Duran. It was rejected last week. The structure of the payments wasn't accepted by Villa. I think we're just about to walk away, as the Villa ask is now too steep.
West Ham fan here: art of the deal is also to know when to walk away. I think it’s time now for us to say thanks but no thanks and move on.
As a West Ham fan I believe the reason Orford was included is because pretty sure Emery made enquires about taking Orford last year for Villa, personally I wouldn't want him to leave, his one of those young players you watch and he strikes you as one of those that looks like his got all the tools to really make it, same sort of feeling we had with Rice, at the end of the day although we didn't manage to keep him we certainly made a pretty penny for him so would be pretty disappointed if Orford went this early.
@@steveanderson1089 absolutely. I’d be inclined to up the offer and keep Orford. That said, I’m not overly excited about Durans baggage. If villa want to see the back of him 🤷♂️
I have a horrible feeling that if we sell Jon Duran it will come back to bite us in the butt! I think he is going to be an absolute star but he really needs to grow up. Imagine us selling him to West Ham and him scoring 3 goals against us in our first match ! I’m having nightmares, I think given time Emery should be able to sort him out!

Love Duran but if Watkins was injured i don't think he could play 5 games with out getting suspended
I think we'll struggle to replace Duran with someone as good who'll be happy playing second fiddle to Watkins, so we should stick to our valuation and if other clubs don't meet it then hopefully he won't begrudge us and gives us another good season
I'm a west ham fan... from my side, and it's only an opinion and a maybe valid one. But you seem to want the player out, he seems to want out as well (seems to have an attitude / personality issue as a player) from everything I have heard.. but I will stick my neck out, and say you seemed to want Orford as a separate deal not long ago, which we rejected (again from my knowledge, I maybe wrong) So we have offered you the player we said no way too before, plus close to your asking price. For a player you want out, club want out, etc.. (I assume my club with pull out, walk away, of leave the deal hanging to see while they move onto others) seems like a weird situation that we are going to take a gamble, we will pay you fee close to what you wanted, and give you the player we said no way to before, and we are both taking a gamble hoping for the best against the rest of the league with the best intentions rather than having a player who will cause an issue if it doesn't go through. (On both sides to certain extent)

@@adammiller682 Yeah there's a lot of behind the scenes issues with him which filters out to some of the fan base, he's got potential for sure but he's been a pain in the backside and when you consider we brought him from the mls and just into the champions league and he's still being a bit of a tosser is a bit concerning, who knows if you do sign him he may settle down and just concentrate on playing because he would no doubt be your main striker and he's behind Watkins at Villa so he isn't gonna be that here anytime soon but I have a feeling if he starts to stick a few goals away he will then be fluttering his eyes at the sky 6 but at least you'd make a profit on him I guess, just seems a risk with him but sometimes with risk comes reward
Duran is a valuable player, it is ok to be ambitious at any age and I am aware that is normal for his culture to be out spoken. Aston Villa knew his profile as a player on and off the pitch. He needs to be more mindful and harmonious in the changing room though. I wish him the best regardless. Don’t forget “sticks and stones guys just sticks and stones” rise above it and enjoy the villa💚

He’s turned his back on villa, villa now find him toxic. Current offer isn’t bad and if they stick for 40mil, you might have an unhappy player for next season. Villa were in for Orford last season and he fits the English player quota. Whu / David Sullivan don’t pay asking price. Steiden will have a back up option. Take the deal while it’s on the table.
Sullivan is out the door mate. We got Julen Lopitegui in now. We just walked away from 2 deals for our first 2 choice right backs so went for the third choice. I believe you have rejected this latest offer as well. As a West Ham fan I really hope you keep him and we keep orford
@@nickdaybyday sadly whilst Lopi is doing the leg work with Tim, I think Sully is still doing a lot of the negotiating. And he should be nowhere near the deals. Appears we’ve lost out on MMazraoui now as well. Should’ve kept Ben Johnson and paid him the going rate.

West Ham fan here. I think people forget that clubs can't just spend unlimited amounts of money. I would say that's why West Ham are offering a lower fee plus Orford (a player Villa were after) because they don't want to or can't pay the full fee Villa want. Would be interesting if West Ham walk away. That would suit a lot of West Ham fans.
PSR/FFP is farcical, problem is it isn’t a mistake, it’s been implemented to serve a purpose!, you may dodge a bullet with this guy though, he thinks he’s bigger than the club… though his potential is undeniable!.
As a West Ham fan we would love to keep Orford. He's one of our top academy prospects and was comfortable against all the league 2 sides they faced and beat last season. We haven't offered Orford a new contract yet

Duran has the ability too be massive & a real top striker,i agree that we're holding out for the fee we believe represents his worth/potential & with the shortage of quality strikers around we absolutely should be getting a £40 million transfer fee for Duran. If any other clubs want too buy him then they'll have too pay the fee or we'll keep him & he'll have too get on with his job,grow up & be patient as well as be more realistic & understand right now he's not taking Ollie Watkins starting place,at 20 y/o he has Time on his side & should realize how fortunate he is working under Unai Emery & getting better quickly & has improved alot at Villa in his 18 months at the club..... up the mighty Villa!!! 😊

Don't know how you can get top 4 when you're basically starting the season -6 points. Arsenal will be laying down some serious suppressive fire-power on Mr Emery for what he did to us last season. You may as well play the kids for both games (pause).😊

If the bid has been rejected there will be a fair few Hammers fans relieved. Concerns over your blokes attitude and disrespect and many not wanting to lose Orford.
