    Depends on the crime. Not only does dating/marrying someone with a record cause issues with owning firearms but it also has a financial impact on your life and family's life. No one wants to hire a felon. It's àlot to deal with.

    A criminal record is a no from me. A person can change, but their record could make it hard for them to have more job options. I don't have time for a man's past to interrupt my future.

    Thought provoking question Reggie. So many variables play into the answer. I know a lot of ladies without any record that I wouldn't date. I'm certain that there are a lot of good people with records though. When I was in a hiring position, I called up a guy that I worked with at another job (ex-con). The dude was solid, and I had no reservations about recommending him for the job. There sure as hell are some good folks that got into bad situations. Thanks for the video.

    I wouldn't mind dating someone with a criminal background, as a matter of fact, I did date someone with an aggravated assault record. At the end of the day, everyone deserves a second chance in life but it all depends on if that person has changed for the better or for the worse.

    dated a girl that had a criminal record, it was mainly finance related. she had a crap ton of student loans and had to file for bankruptcy in the past. I tried to see through all of this and almost got to the point of marrying her. Luckily I was moving due to my job, and during the points leading up to me leaving, she grew more distant. I eventually broke it off, probably the best decision I made looking back on it.

    I had an old girlfriend who did something minor in the overall worldview, she wrote a few bad checks, she misidentified herself to police and in a drunken rage when she got caught she kicked a cop, maybe two of them, in the cookies. She ended up with state jail and state felony prison time. She wasn’t going to show up at her sentencing and came to me. I had no clue about any of it and hadn’t seen her in a few years. Anyway, I talked her into showing up, and promised to help her. Still not knowing anything.
    After she was gone I helped her with a few bucks on her commissary account. She only had to do about 2 years, state jail time which every day of must be completed. So, after almost 1 1/2 years they sent her to the prison for a 5 year sentence, all running concurrently with the state jail time. She did a little over 6 months and made parole then was sent back to state jail to finish it all up. So, what’s my point?
    It didn’t take sending much money, maybe $20-$30 a month to buy snacks, tampons, etc., and I also sent her paper, envelopes, stamps, etc. in bulk from Office Depot. Anyway, none of this seemed like a burden. She was my friend. I also went to visit almost every weekend, no problem. She paroled to my house, I had to move out any guns, still no problem. During all this time she really sounded like she had it together. We were old friends.
    When I got clearance and signed some papers, she came home with me. That night, the very night she got out, she got drunk and stole my car! Then, she came home, went and grabbed a knife and was going to stab herself and tell the police I did it. I took the knife away from her. She had already called 911 and hung up before grabbing the knife. I wasn’t even close by and didn’t know. She was putting a story together to get me sent to jail so I’d know what it was like.
    When the police showed up and beat on the door I answered with guns pointed in my face. She had marks on her wrist where I held her back from stabbing herself. She immediately went into her act. The cops saw she was drunk, almost falling down, just out of prison and had stolen my car. What did the police do? Gave her my car and let her leave. At least they didn’t believe her BS story. Anyway, I had the name of her parole officer and a few days later I got my car back after he told her she’d go back to finish her 5 years.
    Long story short: STAY AWAY FROM WOMEN IN JAIL! They learn to lie, they get changed in there, and if ever, it takes a long time for the effects of jail to go away.

    • @richardgriffitts601
      @richardgriffitts601 4 года назад +1

    • @justplinkin4809
      @justplinkin4809 4 года назад +1

      Richard Griffitts yes to a certain extent, however, prison puts all kinds of people with all kinds of issues together and they learn behaviors beyond the normal. I guess it just makes them worse. It not only changes them but all involved. Going through searches down to your shorts for a visit, while the guy ahead of you who smells like weed, wearing a thick winter coat in the middle of Texas summer gets waived through kind of let’s you know something is up. Some of us used to say the only difference between many of these female guards and the female inmates were the uniforms.
      When you got to the floor of the visit, and the elevator opens, the stench almost knocks you down. The noise of someone screaming, the violent language in the distance, makes the stories told to you sound like nothing. The female inmates must do a ‘squat and spread’ search before and after their visit, yet somehow drugs, batteries, radios, and God only knows what gets inside. You know living through this must warp a person at least a bit. You know the guards help some while destroying others. It must be hell in there.

      @@theelephantintheroom6680 Everybody can make a mistake. Some insignificant lapse of reason. You can be caught smoking a joint by a cop the first time, or drive under the influence by a very small amount of alcohol in your bloodstream, but you will be just fined and warned. Most people who go to jail are those who committ "mistakes" several times, it becomes a pattern of not following the rules. And its no excuse wether its victimless or not. Even if someone goes to jail for victimless crimes it shows something about their inability to follow instructions, guidelines and laws that are in place, regardless if they are victimless or not. Im libertarian and consider half the laws on the books to be un-criminal. Some right off the batt, and some laws by their nature, but they are there, so I still comply. Thats dicipline, ability to adher to authority - and common sense. Most individuals harbor those traits. Laws they disagree with they argue against, petition for change and get involved in politics, or influence politicians on the bench. People on the other hand who for some reason cant or wont follow basic laws, are either reckless, stupid, rebellious, undiciplined, social ackward, illiterate, inconsiderate, mentally ill or sociopaths/borderline sociopaths. Just take your pick. Somewhere inside them there is a piece missing. Its human to err. But I have no interest in finding out whats wrong with those persones, because regardless of what it is, its a dealbreaker. Just stay out of their way.

      @kjemma thanks for the elaboration and I largely agree -- all laws and regulations are NOT necessarily "bad" even if we can't point to victims in a particular case-- and in those cases it is up to our court system to decide punishment warranted. If beer is legal and causes people to be more violent while damaging their bodies and man doesn't have the right to keep you from drinking then what is the difference with any other drug. how would that same person have he right to tell you it's illegal but the other isn't. The only crimes that exist are ones that create a victim and the only "laws" that are morally enforceable. I do believe that all cops steal how is it moral to take money from someone because you think it's wrong for a free man to drive five miles over the limit of speed. is her record from shooting someone when a drug deal went bad? or is it from her shooting someone trying to harm or snatch her kids/younger sibling? tax evasion? graffiti? throwing moltovs at cops in hong kong protests? shoplifting? in our present day & age, "felon" and "convict" don't mean what they might have meant even just ten years ago.
    some answers from her deserve a "l8rz!!", others deserve a "i would have done the exact same thing; you got SCREWED!"
    apart from the good person versus bad person thing, this also brings up the question of just how prone to drama are they? some people do illegal things their entire lives and never get caught. others just seem to fumble, have trouble with anything and everything. gotta cut bait on those with troublesome lives regardless of criminal record.
    how traumatised is she from her time in the joint? if she had been gang raped by half dozen prison guards or fellow inmates, the psych damage from that might be too much to live with in a wife/girlfriend, even if she was 100% innocent.
    what are their families like? especially her own Mom. if their family is awful, have they broken away from that? or are they just another problem child yelling back & forth at their problem family?

    Well, that’s a silly question, with no context. Was it shop lifting when they’re a kid? Or murder as a teen...as an adult? Are they an arsonist, rapist? Etc. or even vandalism as a teen? So many different things it could be, at different ages, not too mention different crimes, or what it would mean based on age. Technically, even if you’ve only had a parking ticket, you are in fact a criminal. You committed a crime. You need context man, and none of the dumb click bait shit. Or if you littered, you’re a criminal. So...everyone is literally a criminal, we have all committed a crime in one way or another, no matter how minor.

    Oh, by the way, I don’t have one, not even a parking ticket or littering. And no that doesn’t make me better, that just means I followed the rules, and any possible minor lapses were not caught. And I think if you are, it should be relatively soon, before it gets way too serious. For it to be off, would only be felony gun charges, murder, rape and shit with kids. The rest I could deal with, they’d be forgivable things, most likely mistakes in a bad time in life, for the other, to me minor shit, if they haven’t done other crimes since then, seems how I own guns, a fair amount of them.

      @@DEMCAD I've been more interested in relationships myself. Specifically in regards to the rise in this polyamory crap. A lot of men are being held hostage by women today as a result. Paying for her to have her cake and eat it too. If he complains she threatens false domestic violence, taking away 50% of his stuff and or the kids. I have met multiple guys in this situation. The recent guy I met is disabled and his wife just walks all over him. She brings guys over and he is powerless. Sad state of affairs.
