Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed this video. My apologies for the construction noise towards the end...they are “earthquake-proofing” my apartment right now 🙃 and due to COVID I cannot really record anywhere else...so hopefully it was not too distracting.
Happy to address any questions/feedback below!
    Cheers!
    Jake

Very nice video. Any reason why you not using Properties in your components?

Love your videos man, whats the best resources/courses to take to learn all theskills/tools that companies look for? Im getting better within Figma and have created a case study etc. but just looking to take the next step and love all your videos :)

jaymkultra thank you! Honestly it depends what exactly you’re applying for, but assuming it’s a role where you’re doing both UI and UX design, continue to build your visual design skillset. Look what top designers are doing, familiarize yourself with common UI patterns. Learn about design systems (tetrisly, brad frost, material design, apple’s human interface guidelines), maybe even try to create your own. On the UX side, focus on solving actual problems through digital design. If you want to look into courses or boot camps, I know General Assembly is a solid one. Definitely not necessary but you’ll gain a broad understand of what goes into designing digital products.
      Hope this helps!

@@JakePomperDesign thanks for the reply! I will have a look into those , sometimes feels like there is a wealth of information but trying to find what is actually useful is hard 😅 I was inspired to create a case study from your gig collage app that you did as my first attempt into ux/ui design. That case study was amazingly presented and would love to see a video on that in the future, keep up the good work 👏

That’s awesome! I’d love to share more of my client case studies but unfortunately most are protected under NDA. I’ll see what I can do though. I agree though, there is almost too much info out there and most of the tutorials you’ll see on RUclips are strictly visual design tutorials so it can be difficult to gain an understanding of UX

Can you share your figma file? It would be very helpfull if we could access it, see and play with your design system...
