I would definitely say that this song is about friendship, not only because of the mention of friend in the chorus but also because the lyrics are tied in so heavily with their storyline that runs through their videos. That would be way too much to get into here because it is just as, if not more complex than the BTS universe but to make it short here, the main theme of TXTs storyline is friendship and also the loss of friends so the song leans into that. At least that's how I see it

I love that you included the behind the scenes! TXT are not just great performers/artsts,they have good characters too. I don't think they're just pretending to have fun lol, they're always playing around.
Okay so I’m a strong believer that all TXT songs can be interpreted any way u want and there is absolutely no wrong answer. but I also wanna share my interpretation real quick just cause lol. (Also this is not my original idea I got all these interpretations from various internet sources lol I’m not taking credit) so I see it as a song about a friendship falling apart. so I see it as one of the friends starts feeling isolated and lonely and instead of opening up to his other friends he starts to resent them and take his anger out on them. So no one inherently did anything wrong no one abandoned anyone or betrayed anyone it’s just someone in the friend group is suffering and won’t communicate their feelings thus causing the whole friendship to go up in flames (hehe get the pun). So I see the whole song and music video as pretty much a silent cry for help. also last thing my favorite little fact about this is in the choreo u can see when Soobin says “who’s the liar” two of the boys (Soobin and Taehyun) are crossing their fingers while the rest are holding out their pinkies like a pinkie promise. Meaning those two are the liars 🤯 great reaction tho! Keep doing what ur doing! 💜💜💜

Some behind the scenes stuff that might interest you--originally, Huening Kai was supposed to do the tomato-angel thing, but he was physically sick from the smell, so Beomgyu switched the scene with him despite fucking hating tomatoes even prior to filming. Also, with regard to this being a horror story, TXT themselves have said that some of the choreo in this song is meant to represent snapping their own necks or wiping away blood. Finally, during the "Who's a liar?" line, 2/5 members (Soobin and Taehyun) have their fingers crossed behind their backs while the other three don't. Showing that detail is one of the things the camera work on that MTV performance did really right
My personal interpretation of the song that probably involves a lot of projection is largely based on the fact that I believe all the TXT title tracks carry an emotional continuity. So coming off of "Run Away," where the main character was feeling isolated and lost and depressed but found a haven in their friendships and relationships, "CYSM" expresses the frustration of that person when growing up and discovering their own identity and how they relate to the world also means that they no longer see things the same way as their friends. It's sort of a situation where no one and everyone is to blame, but it reminds me of how many friend groups in middle and high school often don't survive the transitional periods (junior high to high, high to university, etc) as a result of growing apart. Sometimes, those growing pains feel like betrayal when someone you couldn't imagine your life without now feels miles and miles away, even in the same room. I see the lyric "can't you see me?" as a plea for that person to try and understand the main character, but with the ironic twist that they probably _also_ need to try harder to see and understand their friend.
Tbh if you want to see the choreography better, I highly recommend the dance practice for this song. It looks so cool.

Tbh I never got much romantic vibes from this song, but saw it as more about the the growing pains & broken/cooling friendships within their storyline. At leat if going by the concept trailer that came before this mv, it showed them physically growing apart.🤔 But ofc all songs are open to interpretation. If you want a really good feel for the choreography as a whole I recommend the CYSM Studio Choom(maybe in your in time, since Choom seem to get blocked).
Hmm as far as songs to recommend I'm not sure, they hop genres a lot haha. Puma was the b-side MV for this comeback. Blue Hour, their debut Crown and Magic are a very different vibe, it'd be fun to see you check those out, maybe Angel or Devil (Runaway's b-side MV), their Magic, Freeze & Temptation concept trailers too. I watched one of your TXT reactions few months ago and yesterday watched another one of your recent TXT reactions. I notice you now have a playlist of TXT reactions and I just got done watching them all. Subscribing to you now because it's really interesting to listen to your knowledge and perspective as a art director. And you have a really good grasp of the meaning of the music videos and the messages TXT wants to portray. Sometimes, other reactors may not always understand TXT MVs, but you hit the nail with your insight.

I've really just gotten into txt and can't wait to see where they go as they continue to evolve musically. They're brilliant performers - I just want to hear more music from their hearts. But I love how experimental they are. Genre? Never met her.
The happy-but-it's-not is totally one of their things - they juxtapose emotions a lot. That and always feeling like something just a tiny bit magical is happening... Their videos really lend weight and dimension to the song.

Amazing insight, Mike! Imo, Cant You See Me is about broken friendships but still wanting to be beside that person and make up with them. Lore wise, TXT started with a very youthful "sound"(as they are depicting stages of growing up)with still a dark undertone lyrics but in Cant you see me, they take it up a notch. You can say it's foreshadowing their darker eras. In Cant you see me, a certain friend betrayed them and they weren't sure who to trust either. Feeling sad and misunderstood by their friends but at the same time, wanting to cling to that friendship.
I really hope you watch their lore oriented MVs soon because I'd love to hear your thoughts about it. A little reminder thing though! I suggest listening to "Eternally" AUDIO/LYRICS first before the music video. I'd really love to hear your thoughts XD Emphasis on audio/lyrics first!
fun fact: beomgyu is really hates tomato, in one of the shoot hueningkai was supposed to laying on the bunch of tomatoes but he can't do it and then beomgyu offered to do it instead.. later, hueningkai said he was so grateful because of him
I watch every review of this song and remember every time that I don’t know what it’s about. I think there might be a thing about being in a friend group where individuals start to feel like they don’t fit, and get emo about who they can’t trust, whose a liar. Basically, I think they should investigate who throws the first tomato
I was looking through the Instagram of my friend from high school and there was a picture of him with TXT last July. I guess he met them backstage through his job or something. I’m only a little bit jealous.
