Man, those valkyries scale up really good. One valk? Meh... Two valks? Not bad... Four ? You better land your overlords, or something, 'cause up in the air is not safe anymore.
According Scan Valks are a Tier S unit, RT was "whaat??" when he heard that. Scan explained that they are also effective against Carriers because when they shoot at the interceptors they damage the carriers as well. Haven't seen that in a pro match so far though.
@FoumartGames Carriers are also a unit that is only really good when clumped in large numbers which valks are great against. Also, Valks have a base armor of 2 which is incredible against interceptors low damage, high number of hits.
@@FoumartGames valks are super hard to micro but when it’s done successfully they are beyond amazing, I bet devs couldn’t have envisioned that player one day are going to learn how to use them beyond what they were intended to do
Man I'm so happy for scan. In the span of just a year he's completely transformed his game and his confidence level is through the roof. He's masterd the bio muta defense. GG scan!

It's a bit shocking how they can completely decimate any zerg air units in a single volley when you have that many... mutas, guardians, scourge... All gone in seconds. Somehow even most of the marines made in this game made it home to celebrate lol.
Great game! Would it be possible for Scan to walk us through his thinking at key moments of the tournament? For example, I'd love to hear how he realized that there was a hidden third. Was it because of the missing hydra den?
Scan scanned the base and natural base and saw no hydralisk den. So it was obvious there is a 3rd base somewhere. Then he saw hydralisk comming from bottom. He did not know exactly where the base is (you see marines did not go there yet). And after valkyries saw 2 overlords then he knew where the 3rd base is.
Absolutely loved the tournament - so great to see Scan prevail! While I get combining videos for the Zed v Zeds, I would not have minded the full games here. The early part of the game could be an opportunity to go over something cool or cheeky from the previous game you maybe didn't get a chance to mention in the cast (much like you & tasteless do in live casts). Other ideas: - interview scan on his tournament experience - analysis of strategy trends as emerging from the tournament (or the scene in general) KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
"The best offense is a good defense" - Scan I love how he was always on top of his Missile Turrets and Marine upgrades throughout the series. I feel like I'm learning just by watching him play.

I love when you break down your games in tournaments and what you were thinking at what times like when you nuked that crazy zerg a year ago, can we get that with scan the insight of you guys is the best part
Loved the whole season cast, can't wait for what's next. Only minor gripe with this video, and i think its very specific to this being a grand final, the score going in, and you putting multiple games together...the title does kind of give away the result well before the final game completes.
Thanks so much for all your work on this tournament -- I particularly enjoyed having the entire tournament cast (even with the imbalance of T & Z this time) so we could follow the various players and their progressions. I'm also enjoying the grouping of multiple short games into a single video when necessary. I think 20-25 minutes is a nice sweet spot to shoot for, and it's fun not knowing if we'll get 2-3 shorter games or 1 longer macro game. It's always disappointing to log on for my daily broodwar fix and find only a 5 minute game -- to quote Teddy KGB: "I feel so unsatisfied."

Ive watched a lot of a Arty’s casts lately and this is the first one the algorithm shows me thats the FINAL. Even tho i already saw a spoiler im still stoked to see how it goes down Holy shit once the valks reached critical mass it was beautiful to see them goto TOWN on those mutas and guards
Artois, thought of a good idea. Could you cast some micro tournaments? It would be so awesome to see the pros show off their skills in UMS games. I think it would be a fun and refreshing format!

The didnt fix or change anything regarding the way Valkyries splash damage works, all the did was fix the sprite/bullet bug limit issue when more than a 5-6 Valks couldn't fire at the same time in bigger games and sometimes even less than that. That allowed Terrans to start experimenting with them more confidently as now you know that they will fire as intended and not backfire on you in a crucial moment due to some stupid limitation that was put in place, because of the hardware limitations back in '98 that never got addressed after that.
In the last KCM Light had a group of 8 or 10 roaming around the map killing overlord after overlord. When they hit a critical mass they are terrifying.

I think the real MVP of this match was Scan's incredible turreting. His defenses were on point the whole match and he chased mutas with marines inside his base really well, but the constant turret production meant that even when Zealot got critical mass and could 2 shot a turret, he'd still get softer and softer no matter the harass location. By the time Scan started making moveouts with bio or valks or whatever, he would chew through harassing mutas like literally no other terrans in this whole tournament.
Suggestion for videos with combined games: Pad the end of the video with some black screen, otherwise the length of the video kind of spoils the outcome.
Great tactic by Scan. He adapted to his opponent's style of muta harassment which seems overpowered at first and pwned the game in the end. I wonder what the best way to handle that type of attack is prior to Remastered, when valkyrie attack is limited due to its glitch. Would wraiths be a suitable replacement?
Man that hydra guardian rush failed twice against valkyrie/M&M in this finals series. All Zelot had to do was mix in 2-3 devourers and spread the guardians a bit more.
Feels like that Valk fix is finally starting to turn the tide against Muta play. Objectively speaking, it's harder to Micro Muta/Scourge to connect against Valks, than it is to Valk slide over a Marine clump with Turrets. If Terran can execute their strategy effectively, the Zerg stands little chance. I'm sure the Meta will shift, but it feels a little dire right now.
7 valkys +1 upgraded total of releasing about 336dmg before armor reduction which aproxx 226 dmg enough to shred air units. Zelot is good but he needs more expansions early.

He saw hydras coming up from the south
Scan walkthrough would be sick. The hidden base was super telling with hydras running back and forth.

I am so happy to see valk builds doing well. I hate mutas with a passion and they seem like such a better answer than just marines

if you can do more scan coaching or scan interacting with you fpvods that would be great. anything scan is good
