The son shut down quickly. He is so stuck on being right that he can't hear. He pushed when his father was trying not to put his business out there as to why he made the decisions he made regarding him. The son wanted to be the victim and didn't want to hear anything from Karamo that contradicted that storyline.
That son is so extra. He doesn’t listen and he’s in victim hood. I can see how the dad is very calm and caring. The anger the kid feels from his past is all he wants to feel and he’s really self absorbed. “I can’t do it, stop the show” is crazy when you’re the reason it’s even happening. Get up and go to the back instead of making a spectacle.

I can tell the son is hurting because of his diagnosis whatever that is... i hope he can heal within and live his life more happy!!! He is resilient and will bounce back. Honestly I have empathy for both the father and the son… and to be honest i have more for the father since his parents/guardians TRULY failed him. 16 with two children and four eventually on the way! He certainly did do his best to step up and raise his children. They are safe and living. I also understood the son because there is obvious evidence that he raised himself for a while and was very physically distant and likely emotionally distant from his father during large periods of time. It’s devastating on both sides. The son do need to listen more though. I can see why the father don’t play with that sassiness.

Hopefully one day she as well as all who agree with her stance will learn how to parent mindfully, which such behavior will then be what the child models themselves after eventually. Active listening would help him tremendously in his relationships. You can't hear what people are saying if you talk over them.
In my opinion, the son's diagnosis is the true reason for the pent up anger. Yes the absent parenting is also a great contributing factor. But if his diagnosis is what i think it is, that's the reason for the all the additional pain.
I feel for him, no guidance growing up, then being gay, feeling othered by his dad and probably the rest of the family. Having to figure life on his own and then the health situation......But i also see that the dad is trying in his own way. I really hope the son gets therapy he needs and then him and his dad can rekindle couple years down the line.
Understanding any kind of pain, trauma, the son may have gone through growing up in the absence of his father, he (the son), is not understanding this man was 16 years old when he had him AND him being gone was as a result of working to help take care of him and his sibling at the time. Not to excuse any of Horace's wrongdoing, but you have to give him credit where credit is due. Ricardo, needs to learn how to listen and speak to those things versus to speaking to only be heard. That will get you nowhere fast even with a parent, especially as an adult. You have to give respect to get it. I love Karamo however he only gave him any type of "props" when he saw the breakdown in communication. However he did not hold Ricardo accountable for the things he said. It goes both ways.

I lost my dad on 2/3/24 and he left us set for life and he was paying for our insurance at a grown age( did know he even had us in insurance) My grandfather got us plots years ago so we set. The reason why he cant get life insurance really was irrelevant. All we needed to do is know he cant get it.
