    Thank you. I had the same issue. Ordered a 1200 ohm resistor. And now we are back in action.

    Hi Mike excellent video and I'm hoping it will be a life saver tomorrow, however when the door icon flashed was your door dead , could it only be opened manually or did it still work with the button or remote control ?

    Hi Mike, thanks for the video, I’ve got the same problem and have been searching for a solution. Do you have any photos of your repair where the wires were corroded? Any help will be greatly appreciated. John

      Sorry, i don't. I'd already completed it before thinking that making this video could help others.

      @@ogwamike no worries. I cut the rubber door seal quite low down on what looked like a horizontal seam and luckily this was where the wire had parted like yours due to corrosion. It was quite tricky to solder a very short piece of wire but eventually managed. Thanks to your video I knew what to look for and this resolved the problem. I did a few tests opening and closing the door as I found that the wire is quite sensitive to being in the right position in the rubber door seal to stop the automatically opening again as if something was detected. Once happy and door working correctly I super glued the opening I’d made in the door seal. Thanks again for your video 👍

    Did you manage to repair it or have you replaced it?

    • @ogwamike
      @ogwamike  2 года назад +4

      I repaired it. The wire had corroded where it attached to the graphite strip inside the rubber. I cut it open and managed to solder a new wire on to it. I then sealed it back up with superglue. It's still holding today, but the other side is now playing up! 😒

      @ogwamike  2 года назад

      I can't remember exactly what I used, but it totalled about 1227 ohm.

      No, sorry, I've been real lazy. Even though the switch light it illuminated, it seems to work OK most of the time, so haven't got around to looking at it.
