I also like using a journaling board. I use a plastic mat behind the page I'm working on. Keeps it from seeping through onto the pages below. I get the plastic cutting mats from the dollar store and cut them to size with a craft knife. The plastic mat also gives you a solid surface for writing if your journal has a soft/floppy cover.
@@lyllydd Yes very true! :) I've actually used crayons on my Bible pages. My Bible has really thin smooth type paper. And the crayons don't actually cover the words and you can add color and it doesn't bleed through. Its really cool :) You just have to be light handed 😁
Thank you, Pam, another great video! You inspire me so much and give me confidence to think I just might be able to do this too. Love your humour too! You are a treasure. 🌹🇨🇦
I'm always amazed and gasping when you experiment on already put together journals but then you show us how to handle any oops to make them part of the artwork. Thanks, Pam!
Stencils + watercolor pencils + Ms. Pam = FUN!!! Thank you for making me smile inside today! I actually bought a few wc pencils recently, but haven't really gone on an adventure with them. Now I know where to go!
Your intentional and unintentional flowers turned out lovely. And your furry little pup is so adorable! Please give him some ear scritches for me. TFS. Happy International Women’s Day! ❤️💚💜
Good morning Pam. Hope your weekend was fantabulous. Love the watercolor flowers. Fun fun. Our snow is melting and grass is showing. Spring will be here before we know it. Yay. I am ready for green. Big hugs to Sunny Holly and friends. Have a great week. ❤️❤️
Your greatest gift to your viewers is the encouragement to create leaving perfection in the dust (In my opinion, of course). The second "covering" of the flowers did sing with visual flair even in a more "pastlely" mode. Using the tear with variable colors was a superb tip. Well done. I am delighted your viewership is rising.
Love, love, love your painting-drawing techniques!!!! I have NEVER seen a pencil sharpener like the one you showed on this video!!! I think that is something that will have to live at my house!!!!! We have an electric sharpener that EATS the pencils but hardly ever get that perfect sharpedness desired!!!!! I know you know what I mean!!!! Thank you for you dedication to people like me!!!!!!
You are such a wonderful inspiration to all of us... thank you!!! Your laugh is so infectious!!!’ Love the addition of the gold to the flowers...so very cooool!!!!!!
Hi Pam, I’m a big fan of your tutorials, artwork and your sunny personality! I just love the front page of your junk journal, featuring a leaf and what looks like a layered background! Do you have a tutorial on how you achieved this gorgeous front page leaf? If not, will you consider a clip of how you created the mixed media leaf? Thank you for all the inspiration! Keep smiling! 😊
I absolutely loved this video. It was so cool and you made me laugh out loud so many times. I really loved how your pages came together. They looked so pretty after you added your painted flowers. Keep up your awesome work.

Pam - I love your videos... you simply have me laughing often! It is so refreshing to have someone so down to earth and no offense, but as much of a dork as I am on this stuff! I cannot wait to try this approach - I have the pencils also and I love having a new use for them! Keep them coming. I am addicted!

great idea using the stencils. Brilliant. I will be trying this, but dont have a journal started, so will be doing it in my watercolor book. Nice to see "problem fixes".
I love how the gold on the flower just gave it that magic touch! And you're always willing to try something new or work with your mistakes. Very inspirational. Thanks Pam!!!
I love that third flower and what you did with the bleed through behind, love the softer look, you have encouraged me to jump in with reckless abandon and try this among other things.
Pam , you are a hoot. You've become my bestie in the internet world. Thanks to you I get nothing accomplished in the home but hey, my junk journals are looking good.
This is the BEST pencil sharpener ever! You had mentioned it before and I bought one. They have a new design and you don't have to pull out that front piece now. If you love using pencils this is a must have. Thanks Pam!
Thank you Pam for the reminder that it's OK to break rules. I grabbed some stencils, my journal and my "case" of Tombow dual brush markers and bang! Personal touch, Instant flowers in many colors! So much fun!
Hi Pam ! Boy, these type of videos definitely provides the confidence in us that we can all be an artist in some way, shape or form! So very cool on both sides of the page ❤️ Thank you !
Thank you so much for this. I have a set of watercolor pencils that have never been opened that I've had for years. Well, now I have the courage to try them. You're the greatest.😍
As a non-recovering non-conformist I wholeheartedly endorse and recommend this video--nay, nay, your whole channel, Ms. Pam from the Paper Outpost! LOL! Love your channel and your style. Count me among the number of those who would also love to see a video on how you made that wondrous cover!
Hi Pam, I love watching your videos! I describe you as the “Mad scientist of Junk Journals!” This video exemplifies this to a tee. I love watching you go with the flow, literally, with the ‘flows’ in this case. You give me permission to do the same! Thanks for inspiring me! You make such a good impact on the creative community!
I enjoyed this very much because I want to paint original things in my journals, but as you say, it's the drawing that gets me. I don't think it would ever have occurred to me to use a stencil! I'm looking forward to trying this. I liked the bleed-through page the best! The gold accent was perfect!
I love your humor! I'm an artist and my first love will always be watercolor. I've done all you've done when playing around, to include dipping the pencil (cheapie ones, not my professional ones). Enjoy it! I don't use the pencils often, but I may in my junk journals. I've been debating adding a few signed art pieces to my journals. I mean., why not, right? 😊 Love your channel!
My mom was an artist and that part of the gene skipped me. But this is something I’m going to try. And I think she’d be proud of me for trying! I really want to thank you for these types of videos. You have been so very helpful to me with all your advice about glue and this pencil sharpener, even down to how to use it. And watching your process is great too.

Hi Pam, I have been watching your videos for some time now and it's never a dull moment with you. I wanted to ask if you have a video on how you acutely putting the different papers together to make a junk journal. I would love to see how it's done. I love all your projects so far. Say hello to Sunny and Holly for me, he's cute. Thanks for sharing.... xoxoxo...
Thanks Pam. I really needed to see this video. I don't paint but I have some water colour pencils I bought when I had a bunch of women coming over for a junk journaling party. Didn't get used that night and still have never been used because I'm intimidated. Thanks for "fooling around " with water colour pencils and giving me some courage.💜
I love the way you did your flowers.. Great idea using a stencil to outline your flowers. I have to say, I love, love, love that cover.. Pam please show us how to do that. Its just beautiful. :)
Great help...adore the reverse flowers, they turned out so soft and golden!! ⭐ Never a dull moment hanging around w. you Pam! 🤣 ; how about that book cover leaf? Hello snoring Sunny...zzzzz - love from Denmark 🌸💕
Now THIS I can do! I so love my water color pencils! Those blossoms that happened when you got the coffee dyed paper wet? I do that all the time. It was a happy accident I fell into and have loved ever since. Make sure the coffee paper is dry... it could be the day after you do it or a lear later, then just put a few puddles of water down and watch it go. It's a lesson in osmosis right there on your paper. Have fun! XOX, MK ♥️😁🤗🏜
At first I thought no don’t do anything to the back of the coffee paper, but then you made it look even better, then the gold just added wonderful accents
Hey Pam, that little snore from Sunshine was nothing compared to my dog Princess. I'll have to share a picture of her with you someday. But your little guy definitely has the cute puppy factor going for him. Thanks for sharing your world with us. I have one of those pencil cases too, supposed to hold 72 pencils, but you'd have to put 3 pencils per loop, and I've found 2 per loop is tight enough. Take care and God bless you and yours. I love the gold added to the pink flowers! Beautiful... You could also maybe try covering up the bleed through with gesso or an image? Just some other possibilities..
Thank you, Pam, for sharing. Love this. I will definitely try it. I also love the cover of your journal. Not sure if you have showed us this process. Would be interested. Thanks for inspiring us with your talent and keeping us entertained. 😁Love and Blessings ❤️😘🤗💕
I love that junk journaling combines so many other crafts and art like painting and sewing.
Yes, yes, please do a tutorial n that beautiful leaf journal cover.
I love your quest to explore the reason why, about rules we are not to break. That's me all the way! Never in boundary land!

To help with bleed through you can just paint on a separate paper and then glue in your designs like ephemera 🤗⚘ Love this idea! So cute
