The word Deku is an abbreviation of DEKUNOBO, which means “good for nothing” in Japanese. Or it can be an abbreviation of Dekiru which means “to be able to do, can do.”
Actually Deku means puppet but it’s commonly used in Japanese culture as an insult to describe someone as useless I’m pretty sure. When Uraraka says that Deku reminds her of you can do it she’s referring to the term Dekiru which means “to do”. What she’s saying is Deku sounds like Dekiru=To do/can do it
I feel like it's gonna be his father, his father is gone like, lead him to something else I have like this deep, dark feeling, and if it's not true I'm gonna cry
Overall, the word deku is a Japanese word that refers to a wooden doll or puppet. Traditionally, these dolls had no arms or legs. The word deku is also used as a teasing insult in Japanese to refer to a blockhead or dummy. The phrase implies that the person is as useless as a legless, armless wooden doll.
It would be cool to get something like this but the only thing with it is that dekus character is a person whole puts others before himself and really cares about others even if he doesn't know them, so it doesn't really fit his character all to well sure there's aus with him being a villain but in the actual series I don't see it happening.
@@foxco83well that is the culmination of his selfless attitude, deku leaves UA because him being there put’s everyone’s life’s at risk, and him leaving is him giving up himself, sacrificing himself, so then the heroes and civilians can live in peace. Also i see this common idea that when deku went out and started being a vigilante (but at the time he does i don’t really think he could be called that because the government has all but fallen but eh) he did suddenly become all tough and edgy etc., he looked the way he did because of his lack of self care, his physical and mental wellbeing was all but forgotten by him and so he looked like a monster, now to be fair he did become more focused/ driven/ intense because he realized just how important this was, but then again he always got this way in fights but it’s just more exemplified starting with the Villain Hunt Arc and continues into whatever the current arc is going to be called.
でくのぼう(“Deku no bou”) just means wooden doll, also seen as a puppet. Those two meanings are often looked as “useless” in Japan, so Bakugou took advantage of that. Meanwhile, できる (“De ki ru”) means “You can do it”. You see, in Japan, they shorten plenty of phrases, so Uraraka could see “Deku” being a shortened version of that. And not really- I believe that he just had a good heart and followed alongside of his ‘friend’ Bakugou, but theories are theories, so
OF COURSE HE CAN, where we LITERALLY GET small "Dark" moments BEFORE his "dark" episodes, where ONE BIG hint was against Gentle Criminal where Gentle puts him down the we get THAT look when he glares at Gentle from the ground, JUST like when he looked like he was ABOUT TO SNAP at Bakugo at the very beginning.
Although it would be fucking awesome if that happened, I don't think it will. BNHA or MHA, however you call it, it's a superhero manga/anime, and honestly it's all it's ever going to be. I like bnha, it has some really great character development and character backstory, the story in general is also pretty good, but the whole "Good perfect MC that can only be a good guy and has perfect morals" trope gets boring REALLY fast. I'm tired of seeing hero MCs that are good people with perfect morals, I want flawed characters, characters that do shit and hurt others, characters that sometimes doubt if they're doing good or not, characters that sometimes give up to temptation and idk kill an enemy or smth. We don't see Deku doing any of this things. Ofc, recently we got "emo" Deku that was way too harsh on villains etc etc, but that just lasted for a few chapters and them he got back to being goody-goody guy that he's again. Anyways, Deku becoming a villain, even if for a short while will never fucking happen. Why? Because I doubt the writer has the balls to do it, it's one thing to make Midoriya get edgy but for him to become an actual villain? Oh no! That can't happen, he's such a good guy, right? If Kōhei Horikoshi actually made Deku into a villain I would fucking worship her for the rest of my life for doing something that most creators nowadays can't do, but I know she won't. Honestly, Midoriya does have a lot of potential to become a bad guy. Just look at his past bro, he got bullied merciless, and with him being just a kid I don't think it would take much manipulation from a villain to convince him that society is rotten and that he's on the wrong side. It would be such an interesting arc, but oh well, that will never happen. So I think me and the rest of the fandom should stop dreaming about it and just keep creating AUs ;v
In an alternate universe. Evil Deku said, "Uraraka. I've never considered you an ally. Not even for a second. Not you. Not Iida. Not Kacchan. Not Todoroki. Not anyone. People are nothing but tools to me, all of them. I don't care what I have to do to win. I don't care what I have to sacrifice. In this world, winning is everything. And, in the end I'm going to win. That's all that matters."
Actually when Bakugo calls Izuku Deku he is using it in both ways the first being useless and the second being puppet, because Bakugo sees deku as a puppet or a punching bag he can toy with
@@tusy233 idk if deku is easily manipulated tbh but i think that all for one kinda pulled his strings once or twice because when deku turned rogue for a moment all for one (why did i write all might wtf?) taunted him and deku kinda fell for it. his friends woke him up out of it tho
Idk why this gonna be like his father is reveald to be ago deku listens to him bc afo knows how to pull his strings and in the end we have villain deku and dead bakugo propably
If you actually Google it, it says "In its origin, deku would have been a word used to describe the kind of wooden puppets that were produced for the masses, rather than the arts. The more modern use of the word deku is a term to imply that someone is “a good for nothing”, has a “block head”, or is a “useless, boring person”."
Yah but this has already been addressed. During his vigilante Deku arc, he realized that vilains exist because the world is grey, and bad shit can lead people down dark paths. But his line “that’s why I have to reach my hand out.” Says it all about him. He’s not “indoctrinated” like many other hero’s are. His heroism comes from a place of wanting to understand and help everyone. He’s not striving to be the top hero because he was led to desire it, he’s striving for it because that’s WHO HE IS. This was all even commented on in the very first line of the show, “when i was little, I learned that not all men are created equal.” He knows all too well that there are people who exploit their power over others, that’s why he fights to protect everyone, because everyone has weakness inside of them, and everyone can grow like Bakugo did. For christs sake, he saved overhaul. That wasn’t just because he was told that a hero has to save everyone. It came from a deep understanding that overhaul could change and grow into a better person, WHICH HE FUCKING DID
Till now izuku hold is anger and forgave. With bakugo, with shigaraki, with ayoiama and also gave a chance to overhaul to see his father. Banjo(black whip) told him the quirks will respond to his anger but what if he uses the anger he hold up for so long, making it act differently from his berserk mode? Maybe that will wake up his urge to destroy and get him in a villain state. (Sorry, every day i make this kind of scenarios about mha😅)
i want deku to be a villain the civilians keep getting angry at deku just because he couldn't defeat shigaraki and they kept saying bad things to the hero's he should become a villain after they defeat shigaraki he deserve to be a villain
Tbh I just can't see Deku ever being a villain which is why I always avoid villain Deku content but I guess if he got manipulated when he was young (kinda like Shigaraki) then I could see it but at this point in the story there's just no way Deku could turn into a villain imo
I WANNA BE JUST LIKE DEKU!!!!!! Let me tell you a story, people in my class always call me weak and useless SO I WANNA BE JUST LIKE DEKU. MY DAD AND MY MOM GO DIVORCED SO I DONT HAVE A FATHER FIGURE AT ALL!!¡!!!!!!!
