I loved the hydrofoil. It fought countless battles against the WHALE, my two favorite vehicles of all time. I wish I would have still kept them but I think my Mother either sold them at a garage sale when I was in college. Love your channel to revisit all these great GI Joe and Cobra toys from being a kid.
This was the one vehicle that I wanted as a kid but didn't get. It's awesome! I would love to see a modern re-release of this. It may even get me to start collecting figures again!
This was a great review video. Very thorough, and that's a nice detail about the Lampreys being EEL officers. The Joe scuba pack is a nice coincidence- maybe get one and some spare Cobra decals so it can be used as an "official" accessory for the Hydrofoil. Thanks!
I had one when I was a kid and loved it ... Mainly as the bigger sets were almost impossible to get where I grew up ... And I agree with you about the 11 figures .. Now regretting giving it away when I was younger >.
I love this vehicle. I received for Christmas when I was a kid. My mom was taking night classes and I played with this in the university fountain. it floated very well, and the hydrofoils worked great. lifted the hull off the water like it was designed to do. The G. I. Joe Moray Toys R Us exclusive, didn't float very well. It slowly sank.
I ordered the Cobra Hydrofoil off of eBay a week ago. It can accommodate the more modern-day G.I. Joe figures as well. I will be buying another Cobra Hydrofoil in a couple of months.
With respect, while true, with the Army, Marines, and Airforce O-3 is Captain. However, Navy, and Coast Guard O-3's are Lieutenants. Also, with the Navy, and Coast Guard, E-4 is a Third Class Petty Officer. I only mention this as a bit of information to the tune of these guys are operating on a boat. On the flip side of the coin, it wasn't uncommon during the Korean/Vietnam war eras to have Army personnel operating/manning PT boats which is what the Moray is, so....
Ah...my first vehicle I ever got from the line....the first of many. I still have my original one but it's for parts mostly. I got another one 100% complete nm with a nm lampreys off ebay. That's my display piece
+Impossible Pie I would actually suggest looping some wire through the holes and tying it to something inside the hull (like the part that holds the front hydrofoils to the hull bottom).
The Lamprey v. 4, which has a Python Patrol color scheme, actually matches up quite well color-wise with the Moray. www.yojoe.com/images/resize/w/MAX/action/03/allgearedup/lamprey4.jpg
The one on the left side used to fall out, put I put some floor polish in the hole to tighten it up. The right side was perfectly fine, though. Seems this toy was prone to warping over time.
I think g I joe had one of the best toy lines of all time it's to bad that most of the vehicle and play sets are so fragile and made of really cheap plastic
I never realized how loaded for bear this thing is! The detail is staggering.

It's a shame that they broke the molds. They made so many toys that I as a kid was not able to get but would definitely purchase today.
Do you know if that was something done intentionally or was it accidental ?
I like the stop motion after the review ;)
I always loved those kind of toys
It's also worth noting that the Eels blue equipment from the battlefield accessory pack looks good with Lampreys too.

I had the 2nd version. Awesome detail. Incredible toy.
How could someone give this a thumbs down?
Jarpie Bot probably some American Defense or Corps! collectors, lmao

I bought this item and I collected from the mail office, not new! but with ALL the accesories :D so happy!
This thing would've been great as a re issue 25 th anniversary vehicle

great videos, i was a big action force collector as a kid
Got this for my birthday in about 1987. I can't remember Lamprey at all - must have lost him.

I played with this in bathtub and omg it floated like a champ!

It's beautiful. Kevin you really know your stuff. Really awesome reviews.
Awesome review.
18:45 - pretty sure there's a dark gray or black whip antenna that's supposed to fit over that post.
No there isn't. But it would look cool.

That box tho
Well done!
My clips on mine are broken off any tips on how to keep the top to stay on the haul? Glue, tape?

Great job! Do you have problems with your torpedoes falling off? They do with mine.
