There's a studied levity and richness of sound, which I believe is one of the best ways to play Dvorak,. In an age where crass, garish, overdone, and self-glorifying, self-indulging orchestra playing is rampant in an over-commercialised age of music consumption, this is really quite satisfying. Especially notable in the opening, the adagio, and in themiddle section of the fourth movement, this is really quite well done; not to mention the studied bombastic ending! . A great congratulations to the FRS for a great performance. Capturing the almost pastoral feel of this symphony amidst its dark, sonorous, and melodically remarkable themes throughout this symphony is really quite something to hear. Wish I was there.
This is the first time in about 7 years that I´ve been watching the Frankfurt Orchestra on RUclips that I've seen a different oboe player. After about 5 years I really made it a point to see if he was still there, Never missed a beat until this time. I hope nothing happend to him. His replacement seemed really good. Life goes on.
Neal Baker The first oboists, Nicolas Cock-Vassiliou and José Luís García Vegara, are still with the orchestra. They just didn’t perform in this concert.
@@puccininesko I wouldn't try to compare this to the Honeck performance. That one was probably the best Dvorak 8th I have ever heard. Better than my beloved Kertesz.
@@elishnaps5670 I was thinking of the fanfare...Then I realised I heard it probably in the 6 symphony, listening before few times...I thought the fanfare is in last movement then I couldnt find it.....Then I thought the fanfare was in another piece...but it was in 6 symphony at the end of last movement....It reminds me the fanfare of 9 symphony in last movement....but played backwards....of course the fanfare in 9 symphony is longer, but its similar style...and number 6 is actually number 9 but backwards. :)
0:23 I. Allegro con brio
10:46 II. Adagio
21:53 III. Allegretto grazioso - Molto vivace
28:01 IV. Allegro, ma non troppo

"genialer Dirigent"???
Merci Ben Gernon, merci aux musiciens - Frankfurt Radio Symphony.👏👏
Outstanding Outstanding great to every hr symphony orchestra artists, regards to them.
!!!! Bravooo!!!❤🎉
Большое спасибо очень живому Франкфуртскому оркестру!

@@suzannenoel3610 Thanks for the info. Sure is strange to see the FSO without them.

Elegant. Eloquent. Excellent.
Excellent, Spirited !
¡Excelente interpretación! La orquesta está cada día mejor...
What a beautiful, nuanced performance. Bravissimo!
Спасибо большое. Великолепно.
Wonderful performance as always, though it can't quite match their recording of this symphony with Honeck :) Thanks a lot for uploading!
The performance with Honeck was so much better! Great performance from the orchestra with a rather boring uninspired conducting!

@@Quotenwagnerianer Honeck`s performance is the best ever!
@@dvorakslavenskiples So where can we hear that performance? Is it available on YT?
@@madaboutvoice ruclips.net/video/QXAv-NGppFw/видео.html here is the performance with Honeck
Sublime....as usual!
Dankeschön.
Espléndido!!
So amazing
Magnificent
So pretty, a typical scene to close the eyes and to dream. The Allegretto.Brahms was as great sponsor of Dvorak. He discovered his great talent.
I preffer Dvorak's 8th symphony over his 9th
Eli Shnaps and perhaps the seventh over the eighth?
8th is my favorite then 9 then 6 then 7

New World is so over performed that I agree wholheartedly.
WARNING ; If you are like me many of the melodies in this Symphony will get stuck in your head !

Sorry, but I still find the Karajan WPO recording from the 80s to be better than this.
