yes yes yes love that you didn't put in music when you were jumping zo because I could hear what your instructor was saying! love your videos Jill, keep up the good work!
gah i love your trainer and i am so impressed with how beautiful zo is going. seeing her landing all happy and doing her baby bucks is the best thing ever.
Having to re watch your old videos because I never get to see your face anymore!! Tragic. :( we miss you. I know Zo is on stall rest, but will you please vlog for us? WE MISS YOU!
baby birds always fall out of their nests in our barn so we make little nests for them and their mom's take care of them in their new nest . great video btw
two days ago at where I ride, there was a very tiny featherless baby bird on the arena floor, and we couldn't reach the rafters where the nest was, so we brought it to a nature center and they put it in a active swallow nest.
Thank you guys! Also, I just want to say how much I love your channel and I attempted to start my own eventing channel kind of similiar to yours and Claire's, but it is still a work in progress haha. Thanks for the inspiration!
My instructor tells me, Heels down, Toes in.... idk who is right or wrong or if they are both right but its funny. Love your channel and all your lil' Beans
Hey Jill! Love rewatching these videos. So i was hoping you could help me out a bit. Theres a girth that reminds me of an anatomic girth at 3:33 of the video. Do you remember where you got that or the brand of it? If you dont, do you have any nice inexpensive girths that work well with jumping horses? I figured you have way more experience with different brands and I want my tack to give full movemtn to my girl so that she is comfortable with everything. Tysm!
Having trouble fitting a english saddle for a thoroughbred. He has narrow withers and his back needs more fat on his top line. Do you know any saddles that are good for that type? I love your videos!😊
Awesome video! Love hearing your trainer's comments. You are very brave coming that ladder. My fear of heights is real. Question what brand are your breeches? Cute cut and color.
Yay for baby bird rescue! They looked like fledglings which is why they were on the ground. We rescue baby birds often (thanks to our cats) and the whole thing about touching a baby animal will make the parents reject it is beyond false. The smell of their baby is a lot stronger than your hands touching it. People just say that so other people won't go around "saving" every baby animal they see
Do you have any advice for a horse who hates fly spray? Like she will not stand still for the life of her, its like she was tortured with fly spray or hoses or something that sprays.I honestly don't know how to make her okay with it.
Lady Bug Spray it onto a sponge and rub her down with it to get the spray on. Then to desensitise her, get a spray bottle with water in it and start to spray it around her, everyday bring it closer to her feet then work up from the legs xx Hope it helps ❤️
My new horse is exactly like Zoe ( only from what I saw so I don't know if it was just me it was only that she looked quite strong sorry if i offended you )in this only much more strong because she doesn't like to trot into poles or jumps and is constantly not able to stop do you have any tips I've only got her so I'm still not that strong but it will build she's only 5 so quite young I only jump her twice a week is that enough? And I haven't jumped her over 80cm yet
riding isn't about strength and you shouldn't have to be pulling to get through the exercises! I would only jump 2x a week if I were running upper levels and really needed to but other than that flat work and conditioning is where you build the horses strength and hind end for jumping; id just take it slow and try to relax and give, holding and bracing only make the horse feel trapped and like they need to bolt. so try trot poles on as loose a rein as you can and give your hands forward until you both realize its not something to fret over. for zo her issue with getting "hot" was because she couldn't breathe properly (see "hair analysis" parts one and two for details there) and after resolving that, she's so quiet and calm no more panicking!
check out the description (; also to add onto what I had already said, i turn mine in really bad so thinking turn them out keeps my leg on as zo is very narrow. if you watch my leg my toes are never extremely out. just thinking turn them out keeps them straight and my lower leg on not curling my ankle in!
I recently got some used tack that's pretty beat up, (It was free so obviously I took it lol) the owner didn't take care of it at all so I was wondering you had any tips on refurbishing it?
why is your trainer saying toes out, I have always been taught to keep my toes in to keep riding neat. When you turn your toes out you rest on the heavier part of your thigh, is it an encouragement to keep you leg on while jumping?
Does anyone have any advice? I have started riding one of my instructor' s new horses and whenever I post the inside of my knee, under my kneecap keeps hitting the hard part above the knee roll and I have a large reddish purplish bruise. I am going to get some new riding pants tomorrow since I have been riding in leggings. It is mostly on my left one so I am aware that it could be how I sit but I only get to ride once a week
Natalie Kelley yeah! You could both work on new things and learn together! It could also be not having knee patches as well but idk! I hope that helped!!
Also, (could be the way I sit) there is one area in the arena where she tends to get wiggly and try to turn to the outside while going counterclockwise...
The moms of the baby birds where I live will force the babies out of their nests. The moms take care of them from the ground. They almost always survive unless one the horses squishes them. We learned to stop putting them back in their nests. I don't know if theyre the same type of birds, but just thought I'd let you know that COULD be why.
abigail milne hey I'm English to and the trainer said toes out if I did that I would be told to get off because toes in is beginner riding like sitting up straight
I just started lessons 2 months ago and I have them every thurs and I do them with my best friend and I ride a 15.2 hh quarter horse and my friend rides a 14.1 hh paint horse she’s been riding for a year more than me I think that is hilarious I literally love my trainer so much 😂😂😂
Just wondering the reason your trainer is asking you to get your toes out? I really struggle with my leg position and have been working for years to get my toes pointing forward and not out. No hate, just wondering 😊also love your channel!!!
Your such a good rider!!!! I wish I could ride like you!!! I ride aswell but I don't own my own horse I ride 2 hoses max and jigsaw max is a skewbaled and jigsaw is a piebald I really want jigsaw but my parents won't let me get him :( btw Zoe's so pretty!!!! Your so lucky you have a horse like her!!!!
I explained a lot of what was happening in the description, she's just a hot little mare she's seen vets, chiros, and anything else(: she's just got spunk and an opinion haha she actually started the play bucks after we put her on some new supplements. she changed to where she was so relaxed and light in the bridle, and then she started crow hopping after fences haha
Your jumping position slays my entire life 😍😫
*when riding instructors yell*
Normal people: OMG SHE/HE IS BEING SO HARSH!!
Riders: *laughs*
Love how you "Normal People" so true
yes yes yes love that you didn't put in music when you were jumping zo because I could hear what your instructor was saying! love your videos Jill, keep up the good work!

baby birds always fall out of their nests in our barn so we make little nests for them and their mom's take care of them in their new nest . great video btw
FIRSTTTT! Love you jill! Zoe is looking soooo good!! Awesome video
The way Zoe like jumps into her changes is so cute
two days ago at where I ride, there was a very tiny featherless baby bird on the arena floor, and we couldn't reach the rafters where the nest was, so we brought it to a nature center and they put it in a active swallow nest.
Love the video Jill! Zo has such a powerful hind end ahhh i'm jealous! What brand of breeches are those?!
Christie Eventing I'm pretty sure her breeches are Ghodo, hope that helps :)
Jaime Elizabeth they are!

Thank you guys! Also, I just want to say how much I love your channel and I attempted to start my own eventing channel kind of similiar to yours and Claire's, but it is still a work in progress haha. Thanks for the inspiration!

In the start it sounds like your camera is farting😂
its mary sliding her glove to zoom haha
maybe mary was farting hm?

“Hands up! More leg! Where is your leg?!” -my life 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omg what brand is your English saddle. It is so pretty
stackhouse thank you!
I struggle with unlearning the same things! No burying the hands, but it feels so counter intuitive! I know this is an old vid, but still relevant.
Having trouble fitting a english saddle for a thoroughbred. He has narrow withers and his back needs more fat on his top line. Do you know any saddles that are good for that type? I love your videos!😊
I really love ur trainer she is straight forward to the T and Zo bird was awesome 😆❤️
Awww so sweet! Little baby bird💜
Jell, what is the name of the product that you use on Daisy on her nouse? thank you!!
Awesome video! Love hearing your trainer's comments. You are very brave coming that ladder. My fear of heights is real. Question what brand are your breeches? Cute cut and color.
Johanna Lilly Ghodho, Linked in description haha
Sorry to ask but what song is used in the beginning? I didn't see it In the description :p
please fill me in, so you own zo and bo, and what happened to ghosty? please I'm so confused
rainbow unicorn Pretty sure she sold Beau, I know she still owns Zoë, and she rode and worked with Ghosty for the owner, I believe.
What do you use to clean your tack? O:
What type of saddle cleanser is that? I love the convenience of the sprays but I feel like they always make my saddle dry.
Maura Mare it's linked in my how I clean my saddle video, I don't remember the name!

Why is Daisy's lip yellow??
The birds is basically my barn in spring. We have 5 nests of em!
You must be very very proud now and you will now have 2 new birdie friends👭😂
Do you have any advice for a horse who hates fly spray? Like she will not stand still for the life of her, its like she was tortured with fly spray or hoses or something that sprays.I honestly don't know how to make her okay with it.

that ladder looks so stable.😂 is that cuz its in a stable?
Loved this video and would be awesome if we could maybe get updates on the 🐥 ❤️❤️❤️ you're so inspiring

does anyone know what she uses to clean her tack?
pleaseibegineeditthanks
I actually have video called how I clean my saddle and have everything linked in the description!!
yeah i checked the desc and im confused how i never saw the tack cleaning video w h a t
okay thanks
im probably going to
buy that now
and yeah
Toe out? I was always taught not to do that. What is your coaches reason if I may ask?
check out the description (; also to add onto what I had already said, i turn mine in really bad so thinking turn them out keeps my leg on as zo is very narrow. if you watch my leg my toes are never extremely out. just thinking turn them out keeps them straight and my lower leg on not curling my ankle in!
That makes sense. 😊
Zo is looking so good!
You take good care of your tack!!😍
I recently got some used tack that's pretty beat up, (It was free so obviously I took it lol) the owner didn't take care of it at all so I was wondering you had any tips on refurbishing it?
Oil the leather a lot with neatsfoot oil and try to keep it clean.
Lilly Magno yeah neatsfood oil
that was such a good video please do more barn vlogs!
why is your trainer saying toes out, I have always been taught to keep my toes in to keep riding neat. When you turn your toes out you rest on the heavier part of your thigh, is it an encouragement to keep you leg on while jumping?
I have a problem of turning mine in so telling me to turn them out keeps mine straight, I believe I detailed that a bit in the description!
Does anyone have any advice? I have started riding one of my instructor' s new horses and whenever I post the inside of my knee, under my kneecap keeps hitting the hard part above the knee roll and I have a large reddish purplish bruise. By the way, I love your videos!
Natalie Kelley yeah! You could both work on new things and learn together! It could also be not having knee patches as well but idk! I hope that helped!!
Natalie Kelley definitely ask your coach about it. it sounds like the saddle just doesnt fit you
Also, (could be the way I sit) there is one area in the arena where she tends to get wiggly and try to turn to the outside while going counterclockwise...
Natalie Kelley your instinct is right if she's drifting, it's probably you're opening a door on accident!
Aye the western work you did was A+
your horse has a beautiful jump!!
Do you clean your tack like that after every ride?
Riley McDaniel I do unless I'm in a hurry!
What's the spray you used to clean your girth?
remy w its linked in my "How I Clean My Saddle" video!! I can't remember its name
thanks!
Please do more of these
Did u know that you can put a normal half pad over you gel half pad you should try it some time 😊😊 also I love u

Zoey Jensen no I'm pretty sure she goes out at night and comes in during the day or something like that
Zoë-

not hate I'm just wondering is it an American thing to lean forward all the time whilst riding in the uk we get yelled at if we lean forward
abigail milne I think so. usually in the US we practice half-seat a lot especially in jumping
it's cool to watch how different it is in different places
same in the netherlands tho we have to sit like we are candles on a horse.
abigail milne hey I'm English to and the trainer said toes out if I did that I would be told to get off because toes in is beginner riding like sitting up straight
Same
I just started lessons 2 months ago and I have them every thurs and I do them with my best friend and I ride a 15.2 hh quarter horse and my friend rides a 14.1 hh paint horse she’s been riding for a year more than me I think that is hilarious I literally love my trainer so much 😂😂😂
Love your videos!! so much! ,ur awesome!
Just wondering the reason your trainer is asking you to get your toes out? I really struggle with my leg position and have been working for years to get my toes pointing forward and not out. No hate, just wondering 😊also love your channel!!!
yeah haha I actually roll mine in, so by thinking turn them out, they become straight!
Do you clean your tack like that after every ride, or is it more of a weekly thing?
Jillian Rose everyday unless im in a hurry😄
Your such a good rider!!!! I wish I could ride like you!!! I ride aswell but I don't own my own horse I ride 2 hoses max and jigsaw max is a skewbaled and jigsaw is a piebald I really want jigsaw but my parents won't let me get him :( btw Zoe's so pretty!!!! Your so lucky you have a horse like her!!!!
wait but why did you put the white stuff on her nose?
Id assume its sort of like sunblock. White horses have sensitive skin thats more prone to sunburning, especially on their noses.
Love you ❤️ and Zoe ❤️ do you have sc? 💓
Zoe looked a little uncomfortable while you were jumping her, does she have an old injury from being on the track? Or was she just being bratty?
I explained a lot of what was happening in the description, she's just a hot little mare she's seen vets, chiros, and anything else(: she's just got spunk and an opinion haha she actually started the play bucks after we put her on some new supplements. she changed to where she was so relaxed and light in the bridle, and then she started crow hopping after fences haha
