    Oh, Harry. This video meant so much and brought a lot of relevant ideas I would like to consider further on my own. But, seeing you smiling all the way through the video made it even way more beautiful and entertaining. May you always have a company that appreciates your genius and able to share theirs with you.

    Harry, ask Michelle what I think of people Fe/Ti-ing everything. Don't get me going again 😂
    Despite me not believing people can change type, I really did enjoy this conversation! I definitely believe people can improve their lesser functions though, and adapt to situations unfamiliar and/or uncomfortable to them. I view this more as development of type though, and that you still have one.
    What she said about Ti in the first couple of minutes here, honestly that is the only way I can improve mine at all. I have to draw upon my dominant Fi and then try to draw a parallel to Ti from there. If I don't, the concept of Ti doesn't jive inside my head too well. I also could not separate a person from the idea or information they imparted to me. I can't imagine it the way you described it, just info floating around not attached to anything. I was like...what? Lol.
    I am definitely on a try to improve my Se and Ti mission right now. The struggle is real 😬

      I'm a big believer in type development - we can definitely develop our stack to access a function of our choosing, though this will so often remain centered around a natural cognitive predisposition to that of our 'type'.
      Indeed, Fi dominants and authorities often develop Ti 'through' their Fe, and vice versa for the more Ti-centric types :)
      Ahaha! It's so interesting how strange another person's cognition can seem to us isn't it!
      I hear that - I think it's worth it though :D

    I didn't notice that you 2 made this video 😃, I want to confirm what Michelle are saying at 38:00 - 41:00 😅. As a ENFP, the methode that is more telling of the meaning of life/ people and the more informations that I can get and learn from it for me is to let myself be fluid and not objective because my value and the analytical part of mine will keep the good and leave the bad of any situation I'm in... Is just really important to be aware of our own security , thing that I learn 😆
    And Michelle will relate with this I think but some time is so "soaking" that we are good for 2 week of analytical feelings/fact/paturn and so on 🤣. Before doing that, make sure you are stable and that you knows how deal with negatives émotions first 🙂.

    I've been working the most on my Ti demon, I believe. Fi comes so naturally to me as an INFP, and it guides me a lot. However, as I've gotten older, I find myself using Ti quite often these days, especially during times of stress or crisis. It gets me out of it, keeps me grounded.
    I also find myself utilizing my Te inferior as well, moreso in an aspirational aspect.
    I still neglect my Se quite a lot, I think. Trickster functions are quite difficult to get a grip on. I've been trying to utilize that function more, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about it.

    • @CognitivePersonality
      @CognitivePersonality  4 года назад +2

      You can often tell when an INFP has developed their Ti as they are so often gifted and original thinkers! Interesting to hear how Ti takes the burden off your dominant function :)
      It sounds like you're on an excellent path. Yes indeed, for myself I am definitely enjoying the challenge of my Te development, as it is so integral to the type development programs I'm hoping to roll out later this year!
      The function can be, generally, most easily accessed from the position of your oppositional function - in your case, engaging Se as an auxiliary to Te.

    • @cylestine
      @cylestine 4 года назад +1

      @@CognitivePersonality Yeah, it kinda helps with keeping my rather deep and turbulent emotions in check, that way I don't get lost in them or consumed by them. It's pretty easy fall into that as an INFP, and I've been doing my best to no longer allow that to happen.
      Looking at things from a moreso logical sense really helps me out. I've actually been told I have an "original" and unique way of thinking by quite a few people, so that's pretty nice. ♡ Thank you!
      How exactly would Se manifest or show? I know it can happen in various ways, but out of all the functions, Se confuses me the most. Do you have a video on it, by chance?

    • @CognitivePersonality
      @CognitivePersonality  4 года назад +2

      @@cylestine I do have a functions video coming up, but in the meantime I'll say you'll experience Se as an intense a directed external focus, forming a tangible connection to concrete reality at the expense of the abstract bigger picture :)

    • @cylestine
      @cylestine 4 года назад +1

      @@CognitivePersonality Oh, okay. ♡ I see. Thank you for clarifying! I guess I do utilize Se every now and again, but definitely not that often. I definitely have an inclination to look at the bigger picture a majority of the time. xD

    the part about development its cool and all... this complicated personality equation seems exausting. But Jung himself suggested the integration of the Shadow, of the animus/anima and the expression of your inner desires into reality( that last part I'm guessing what jung meant). It lookslike cpt lacks those ultimate goals. What do you think?

    • @guernica5413

      I think they very much share the same goal, CPT just don't use the same vocabulary.

      I'm so sorry I missed this! Thank you :)
      I'm not a huge fan of the enneagram as I believe there are more core-drives/fears than it presents and, furthermore, that people inhabit all of them to some extent.
      However, generally speaking I am a 4w5/4-5-8 :)

    • @emmytherose

      Cognitive Personality Theory no problem, I’m grateful you even answered. :). I see why that could be, I don’t understand the people who believe the numbers are personality types. I think it’s truly about energy and psychological types is about well...the mind. I try to consider both, because how we use our energy can contribute to how much we do or think. Thinking can take up a lot of our energy, while others rather use their energy to contribute something else. So we kind of have to go around the circle and that’s when we do contribute our energy in different ways. I didn’t mean to go on but anyways, Thanks for telling!

    • @CognitivePersonality
      @CognitivePersonality  4 года назад

      @@emmytherose I like this notion a lot! Yes, the idea that energy is directed more in one fashion than another, while remaining both, is something I have an easier time getting on board with :)

    I'm infj but my dad may have been an intp, I learned sort of how to interview ppl because I knew nothing about engineering and having a company and yet that was all he talked about if it wasn't something bad about my mum or nan or brother or myself or sister it seems.. I had to learn to act interested in what he was interested in because that was the only way I knew how to connect with him.. although he was overall, fantastic at answering my non stop, random questions.. but I wasn't able to maintain interest the whole way through on all of his explanations.

  • @Mart-Bro

    You talked about trying to lean into your Ti more to guard against being overly Fe. I think you are actually overdoing your Ti in how you present your videos, and it's extra obvious to me in this chat. Sorry to say, just trying to give constructive criticism.
    I found you would very easily dive into a very Ni+Ti download of info and not be paying much attention to Fe-ing Michelle's energy etc and matching her vibe/staying emotionally in sync with her. Sometimes 'active listening' too much and not just letting her speak totally freely. I think your insights are great but you seem have to developed almost an INTP-esque obliviousness to the Feeling world, and it makes your energy much more Grey and socially distant than it optimally could be
    Learning a lot from your content tho :)
