    This microphone has a cool look, a perfect size, and a very pleasant sound. Thanks for showing the side rejection trick, it's an amazing thing. I have been using my LCT 441 FLEX for a year and I have not yet exploited its full potential. I must admit it is my favorite for recording vocals. Excellent work Lewitt!

    I've bought LCT 441 Flex fiew weeks ago, and it is my first condenser mike. I've chose it because I wanted to be sure that I will not be disappointed by the sound and quality, and that I will be able to use it for any purpose for a long time. I'm very impressed with it's noise suppression and clear sound. I can't wait to record my next vocal for a song with it.

    A wonderful microphone that has a really smooth high end, and also a very controlled low frequence response that doesn't sound "boomy" in the low-mid area.
    The omni-pattern i simply perfect for me when recording strumming acoustic guitar or backing vocals, when a neutral sound is prefered.
    It's quiet, looks inspiring, shock mount is included, and a pop-filter that accually lets you see the lyrics in front of you.
    -You've nailed it!

    🤯The rejection from figure of 8 is amazing...
    You should try to do a "comparison" or more like a one source samples based test between base mic models like the lct 240, lct 440, lct 441 cardiod, maybe up to some "midrange" mic models. Some people don't care about the really subtle differences in sound when they use gear for stuff not related to music.

    Hello, I have problems with the LEWITT LCT 441 FLEX microphone that I acquired a little over 3 months ago, I have tried to find an answer all over the internet but I have not found anything related other than an ignored reddit post, my microphone is constantly changing the gain, this is very annoying when recording since the signal suddenly drops a lot. I'm looking at affordable condenser mics. I never heard of Lewitt till a few minutes ago while researching. I had a Carvin CTM100 [Alctron HST-11A] rig some years ago and although it was a good sounding mic I wound up selling it because it was too heavy and bulky especially with the extra cables and big switching box. The 441 Flex seems like a great mic and and the compact self contained design is a better fit for my planned bedroom studio.

    I'd like to know if there were any special Pre-Amps you used in your examples when recording those vocals. Does it need a cloud lifter (like the SM7B). Or can you hook directly to a board or interface and gain from there?

    • @LEWITT-audio
      @LEWITT-audio  15 дней назад +1

      Just the preamps in our Metric Halo interface. You don't need a cloudlifter for LCT 441 FLEX. Most condensers don't since they have much higher sensitivity than dynamic mics (like SM7b). Any standard preamp should work fine!

      It is basically the same capsule--it's just the multi-pattern version. The sound is very similar in cardioid mode--I used them interchangeably. However different polar patterns always have slightly different frequency responses. You can check our website for a detailed graph for each pattern.

    Another great innovative mic design from Lewitt.
    Questions -
    1) Stereo matched pairs available ? (is lewitt's quality control/tolerances so precise that 2 singles should be be close enough to stereo match ?)
    2) Is the Cardioid on the 441 Flex the same sound/specs as the 440 Pure Cardiod ?
    3) Will Lewitt ever develop an affordable ultra low noise (under 10db self noise) pressure gradient small diaphragm omnidirectional condenser mic ?
    Thank you, and keep up the great work.

    • @LEWITT-audio
      @LEWITT-audio  2 года назад +1

      Hello Thomas: 1.) No matched pairs are needed!
      2.) They are very very close, but not exactly the same. They work great together for M/S.
      3.) Unfortunately this seems rather unlikely. SDC's always have a higher self-noise than LDC's. Also, why would you want it to be a pressure gradient?

    • @LEWITT-audio
      @LEWITT-audio  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the kind words!
      Unfortunately, the LCT441 Flex is not available in Stereo pairs. We still occasionally record in stereo pairs with it, and it works very well as our tolerances are quite low.
      Our true match technology starts at our LCT540S.
      I can't really disclose our future developments, but we try to stay in close contact with our customers and try to develop our products for our community, so we are always happy about new ideas!

    Hi. I was wondering if you could say something about the design differences between the capsule in the LCT 441 FLEX and the LCT 640 TS. I noticed that the figure-8 polar pattern for the 441 is asymmetrical whereas the one for the 640 is symmetrical. Thanks!

    • @LEWITT-audio
      @LEWITT-audio  2 года назад

      Hi Iain,
      thanks for your comment. Since both microphones are equipped with the same capsule, the polar pattern should be the same with both those microphones. We have a feature video like this, but the short version is that LCT 640 TS is more feature packed. LCT 640 TS has pads, low cut filters, dual-output mode for easy stereo recording and the ability to change the polar pattern after the fact, and clipping history which indicates if you need to engage the pad. It also uses our perfect match tech which ensures any two will form a matched pair.

      Some more questions, dear@@LEWITT-audio : is the capsule the same in the LCT 441 Flex and LCT 640 TS? LCT 441 Flex also has multiple polar patterns, missing the stereo mode. But for the price of a 640, I can buy 2 441's, so I have stereo...I also can combine the 441 with other mics to get stereo. I understand that the polar pattern can be changed in post only with the 640 TS. Would you add this feature in the future to the 441 Flex?

    • @LEWITT-audio
      @LEWITT-audio  6 месяцев назад +1

      The capsule is basically the same in both so they have a very similar sound. However, the circuitry is very different and there would be no way to enable the LCT 441 FLEX to do what the LCT 640 TS can do in terms of the dual output. If it's more important to have 2 mics for stereo rather than have the extra features of the LCT 640 TS, then I would go for it! You won't be disappointed.

  • @annekedebruyn7797
    @annekedebruyn7797 2 года назад

    I have a technical question regarding the frequency of the FLEX.
    It dips a bit from 200 down to 20hz compared to the 440 pure and the 540 subzero.
    Is this an effect due to having two capsules close to each other or was it a deliberate feature?
    Because to me, the FLEX does sound like the 440 pure despite having wildly different curves in the lower frequencies.

    • @LEWITT-audio
      @LEWITT-audio  2 года назад +1

      Hello, this is due to the multi-pattern capabilities of the LCT 441 FLEX. Also, keep in mind, that those graphs are standardised "free field" measurements, done at around 1,3 meters. In real life, you are usually much closer to the microphone and will benefit from the proximity effect. Which is why it sounds much fuller than you would expect after seeing the graph.

      The difference in the frequency responses of the microphones result in a slightly different tuning of the capsules. Hey, guys! I've noticed, you reply the comments, so I've decided to try. I can't choose between 441 and 540S. I am about to record male and female vocals in a not very well treated (quite reverby) room and at the same time I will need to do foley recording for sound design (gaming and video). I consider buying a multifunctional mic for all scenarios simultaneously. I have a feeling that 441 is better as a multi-functional mic, but at the same time I am afraid that 540S is much more detailed for foley sounds, and I'm afraid to make a mistake. Keeping in mind my point about not very well treated room, which one will you advice: 441 or 540S?
