That was dope af! Hated Ivar at first, but there at the end he grew to become probably the best character. Even with him being a cripple he became of the most feared, and famous Vikings in history.

In the historic registers from France and UK, Ivar The Boneless is described as the "berserker king". Some sources lead historians to think he was buried in Ireland where a king Ivar founded a dynasty after the viking raids on Europe's shores. In the tomb, they found more than 200 warriors buried with even more swords and ancient weapons.
Historians have several hypothesis on why they called him "boneless", one of the hypothesis was in the series : some think he had a disease. But another one would be interesting : "boneless" can also be interpreted as someone very flexible. Historians aren't sure, so in fiction we can imagine one or the other : imagine this berserker but capable of torsions that could terrify the ennemies, making them believe they have a real demon in front of them, not even human, turning his arms behind is back and moving his weapons in circles, making is head go so far back that it reappears between is legs, screaming at ennemies.
We are inconfortable when we see acrobats doing this on TV in Talents shows, 1200 years after the northmen attacked Europe. Imagine being at war with someone who do that kind of things, screaming at you with heavy weapons. I would love to see this on screen.

@@TeenWolfLore Because even though the show is based on real historical figures and is accurate in some accounts it is still just a TV show. Rollo for example did become the Duke of France and married the kings daughter, fending off the attacks of other invading vikings, keeping his word to the king but was in fact no way related to Ragnar Lodbrock and actually did not even live in the same time period as him. There is a statue of him in France still in tact. As for Ivar, he was actually the oldest of all the brothers and the most well respected. They all came to him for council when they needed advice, but contrary to what is shown in the show Lagertha was not the mother of Bjorn Ironside. Aslaug was the mother of all of Ragnar’s sons.
