Since the rest of the comments address pretty much everything else I'd like to point out they also put the horse in an ear twitch so that the guy could mount the poor babe. While a nose twitch has been shown to cause a horse to relax, so long as it's not used for more than 3-8 minutes(I forget the time stated in the report but it was between then) an ear twitch was shown to not only cause nerve damage to the horse but cause the animal to freeze out of pain and fear and was considered cruel to use for any length of time. It was also shown that horses remember the abuse and even after one use of less than a minute the horse became ear shy and was afraid to let anyone touch their ears. Do not use an ear twitch on your horse. Use sedation or a lip twitch for medical care if needed. If you're using it for training purposes you're moving way too fast if you need to employ such methods. The methods these people are using are clear abuse and should not be legal.
while breaking a horse you don't command the horse to walk forward and they asked the horse to stop when you just ask to walk forward. The first thing you should have done was be led around by another experienced person instead of right away asking the horse to move it's feet. Clearly you have no idea what you are doing. Your girth/cinch is way too loose, lucky the saddle didn't slide back to the horses flank and get crushed. The horse flipped out and started rearing because you emediatly yanked on the bit, therefore the horses first instinct was to rear

Poor horse. I'm not saying that I did everything right but i know that trying to "break" a horse is horrible. Torturing a terrifying horse until it feels there is no choice but to give up is disgusting. No animal should be treated this way and if i was the horse, i could never trust thus human again.

When the horse is in pain or is uncomfortable since they cannot talk they will buck, rear, kick. Horses are NOT aggressive animals, it is the humans that do stupid things that terrify the animal and make it afraid of them, and then people want to go say that the animal is aggressive and needs to be put down. First of all there are a lot of things that were very wrong in the "training" of this horse this is not the correct way of training and I don't care if this is how he choose to train his horse if you don't know what your doing then don't try to do it your self. Its not a DIY project you can fix in a day. And when you tell a horse to go then tell him to stop that is one of the things that made the problem even bigger.
It is not the fast horse breaking cause you want the horse to trust you be for you get on and he was pulling on the mouth when asking him to go forward therefore the horse does not know what to do but bolt
The reason she doesn’t want to move forward is because when she does she gets torn in her mouth. It is not positive for her when she moves forward so she is trying to protect herself in standing still. I understand the need to hold her back, but at some point you need to release her mouth even a bit so she calm into what is happening to her. Mongolian traditional horse breaking is something similar to this, where you just get on the horse and go together for as long as you can until the horse accepts the rider. But the difference is that the Mongolian way allows the horse to move forward more, so the horse can feel better connected to the rider, the rider stays on until the horse calms itself. Just horse and rider, no person with ropes etc. If the horse doesn’t calm with a rider holding on then the horse is set free to be wild. But if the horse eventually submits to the rider sticking to its back its kept and further trained... You will have problems with this horse because her will/spirit is not being respected.
I can’t even watch a video about animals without somebody saying it’s abuse and the fact that half the people here claiming this is abuse has never rode a horse

That is not a wild horse you broke him to saddle and bridle first and a wild horse you could not walk up to who do you think you fooling plus you are breaking a horse by white man's way Natives real natives do not break a horse they become one with the horse and it takes breathwork You are trying to fool someone maybe yourselves that is nowhere near Native Horse training
I don't agree with bits see how he's biting on it try a bit less bridle the horse will respond better in it cus it works on my horse very well and he trusts me more
First ride can be uneventful if you do not use the ol' cowboy way of man handling the horse. I have heard that some Native American tribes are noted for gentling the horse not breaking them.
have seen people bust broncs in Texas plenty of times, but they would never do it like this. From the bit to the gear and how it's rigged to the method... I'm sure there is someone who would be willing to share some knowledge so these guys could be more successful (in person not via keyboard).
Just foolish. Your pulling to hard on the horses mouth!! It’s making him not want to move because he knows it’s going to get yanked on. U should not break horses like that u idiots!!
You guys are crazy I'm native this is how we do it and if you don't like it go somewhere else and watch my lil pony because you sure don't know how to train a horse right
I know how to train a horse right, and if you are putting a shank bit in a inexperienced horses mouth then beating the horse to go and then as soon as the horse takes a step you start yanking on the bit then YOU need to learn to train a horse right because this isn't right at all! This "training method" is a pure lack of knowledge and understanding
Erin Rodda they should've used a halter, these are inexperienced hobos. And if they use a bridle, at least a neck rope is better to hold onto then it's mouth.
They shouldn’t use a halter because they are trying to break the horse in a let it get used to it. They are doing such a crappy job but if they don’t put a bit in the horses mouth it wont be able to take one later on because it will be so new. Good to start early.
Good job guy's that how I break mine let'm know who boss. 😂😂 an for the people saying this is cruelty don't know shit about horses 😂😂 bet that horse is free roaming an is only used when needed not penned up his or her whole life.
Yeah you know sooo much about horse if you think it's appropriate to kick a horse hard to go and then violently pull back when the horse does go. There's no good job about this the horse didn't learn anything from this. Basically go go GO! Oh shit don't go, the horse learns that the rider is unsure of what he wants and in turn the horse becomes uninsured horse
KING LUCCI ur right they did a good job and if that's how u do it then I'm ok with that cus this is only the start after this he will be treated well and loved and the other people do know about horses but they have a different way of doing it ☺☺☺
KING LUCCI what?!?! No.....anyone in the right mind would never do that to a horse the horse is obviously giving signs to them saying "Stop, I dont like this, leave me alone." Amd yet they still continued riding a wild horse, and if that's how you break your horse/horses then your one.of the dumbest people I know, and if you think that's not animal abuse you obviously either 1:don't care about animals. Or 2:just simply not using your head. And for someone to just say that that's not animal abuse doesn't need any animals. I have been riding and training horses and people on horses from little 3 year olds to 40 something year old people and that's defiantly not the way to break ESPECIALLY A WILD HORSE.

Ellie Hensey I have plenty animals and they love me I didn’t use this technique to break my horse but this technique may be forceful but it works
Brings back memories growing up on the Rez I loved it we would throw them down first then saddle up and get on and the people talking about this horse is going to be ruined obviously never rode a real broke Rez horse lol
Yeah...sounds like quality...like everything else on "The Rez". Ignorant.
Melanie Hubbard well some of us do work for a living on the Rez and have nice stuff so that comment is ignorant
Yupp deffinly I miss riding out there with my cheii
You should get arrested for animal cruelty
Your crazy all of these comments non of you probably know hot to ride a horse I
+Juan El proud owner of a rescue thank you very much and yes I do ride quite competently
damn! poor horse
of course it hurts there abusing the 🏇
The wind says hello
That is not a wild horse you broke him to saddle and bridle first and a wild horse you could not walk up to who do you think you fooling plus you are breaking a horse by white man's way Natives real natives do not break a horse they become one with the horse and it takes breathwork You are trying to fool someone maybe yourselves that is nowhere near Native Horse training
I don't agree with bits see how he's biting on it try a bit less bridle the horse will respond better in it cus it works on my horse very well and he trusts me more
I aint got any problem with what, how or why you do it like you do. to hell with the hater's and anybody else for that matter! stay safe
Disgusting
Natives doing it the fast cowboy way. Do it the Indian way and build that horse up with ground work and trust.
Just RUINED the poor guy! It's funny as shit when I see horse roaming free...with the saddle still on around Cameron.
GET OFF OF THAT POOR HORSE AND STOP YANKING ON HIS MOUTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did he just put a shanked bit in a horses mouth that hasn't been ridden before?
My gosh... Terrible
guess ppl do things differently right? get used to it
Staticon there might be different ways, but this is wrong, this is harmful
Why this is the baby horse
An uncluttered round pen works better
well done; another example of ignorants abusing an animal
You broke it cowman!
Yes the poor horse will be terrified for the rest of its fucking life
@@parkerloudermilk1756 many horses are trained like this and they have a happy life.i want to train horses and breed them when I grow up
@@parkerloudermilk1756 lmao horse is fine
Dang all bad real cowboy 🤠
omg, this is sooo wrong. poor, poor horse, i feel so sorry for her😢
First ride can be uneventful if you do not use the ol' cowboy way of man handling the horse. I have heard that some Native American tribes are noted for gentling the horse not breaking them.
Gerry Coleman you don’t fucking do that you do t manhandle a horse that’s how u ruin them
That’s not a good way todo that it’s horse abuse
Aren't they supposed to be wild
There are too many ropes in the horses mouth make them less and then the horse will move and do not hit the horse
looks like you riding one them horse's in front of the grocery store.
wooooow
very good
idiot
Starr Rosseter Have you ever seen good natural breaking horse? It never fucking looks like dressage. This person is doing nothing wrong.
TheHamadanners r u dumb
have seen people bust broncs in Texas plenty of times, but they would never do it like this. From the bit to the gear and how it's rigged to the method... I'm sure there is someone who would be willing to share some knowledge so these guys could be more successful (in person not via keyboard).
Was he twisting the horses ear?....
Laura Starling he was twisting the horses ear to keep it still
Shay shay still wrong and he shouldn't be doing it. Breaking a horse in properly is a hell of a lot less effort and won't traumatize the poor animal
Shut up thats how you tame a horse show him whos boss
Horselover278 that’s how you hurts and abuse it, and I tame and rehabilitate horses
Gabriella Papavero that is cool that you help horses
Horselover278 you don’t truly know horses
@@parkerloudermilk1756 pov your 20 year old city girl who hasnt seen county in ur life this is the world deal with it
I like Clinton Anderson's method much better.
Why the hell they have to ropes around the horse and a bit. This can be highly abusive and can damage the horses body. Never do this again
Everyone thinks natives are good with horses. NOT!!! This is bad.
Animal abuse and they are laughing, sick shit.
Ok this just makes me sick why do people do this not proper teaching
I can’t believe you’re actually proud of the way you guys train horses. I’m ashamed for you now. You show no patience or respect for the animal.
Absolutely no respect for the horse, it’s you crazy people that think this is right! I tame and rehabilitate horses, and their is so wrong
I hand trained my horse and she learned better through baby steps than torture if you don’t like that then don’t get horses
@@astamasnow that's what you do for a living you can spend all day and every day with the horses these people dont have all the time in the world
what rez
More rez than you.. shut the fuck up
This isn't funny this is Abuse That report button is 100% nice today
This is so sad. Poor horse :'(
Very cruel...
🐴🐴🐴
There is no trust here, just submission. Poor horse. A crude and cruel tradition
Well the camera work totally sucked but this was an excellent vid, thanks for posting it
Shaun White excellent? It’s bullshit!
Shaun White do you even know horse behavior because if watching a terrified horse is excellent then you need help
Hell yeah
@@knwslayer866 hell yeah my ass.
@@roofie629 you probably just some white person that spend a whole year training a horse that has been raised in captivity
im 12 and i can even break in a horse better then that. so abusive!!!
This is horrible!
This is horrible
USE A HALTER!!!!!!!
Erin Rodda its called a bridle..
g u c c i a v a read my comment a little more careful.
Erin Rodda they should've used a halter, these are inexperienced hobos. And if they use a bridle, at least a neck rope is better to hold onto then it's mouth.
Lucia Oakgarden yes thank you!!!!!🙌
They shouldn’t use a halter because they are trying to break the horse in a let it get used to it. They are doing such a crappy job but if they don’t put a bit in the horses mouth it wont be able to take one later on because it will be so new. Good to start early.
I have a humongous problem with this he asked the horse to walk forward and immediately pulled back on the rains like who does that
Poor horse
this is how God breaks the sinners will and brings it into subjection with his own will
Need more videos like this from N.M and AZ
Fucking brutal… and to think how many other horses these clowns have messed with before and since this vid..
Come run!! ground work works best..
I'll ride this horse and I'm 300 lb and I'll make that horse obey
That horse is way to young no way it is over 3
A tad windy haha
I’m not impressed at all😡
Good job guy's that how I break mine let'm know who boss.
Haylee Persall
From the first part of you're comment I knew u were dumb
" Yea you must know so much about horse" it should be horse's haha dumb troll.
Haylee Persall he was watching he’s not dumb he saw the horse start to take off that’s why he pulled the reins back
Pure abuse and just stupid, they just thought a horse what to do to get a rider off....
this is fucked up
Sad
You shouldnt be breaking a horse if you dont know how to ride. That poor horse. Learn how to ride.
Natives are the best horsemen they grow up riding they are horse people always have bin modern horse trainers are scared that's why they take so long to get on a colt fucking scared
Theirs a little town full of huge cattle ranches in new mexico called hernandez mostly spanierds they all still use this method and have rode since they could walk
of course it hurts there abusing the horse
