Yes sir, can't get off them! LOL. A plum bob probably would have worked very good, didn't really think about it honestly and I don't have one...LMAO. I'm completely fine with guys taking their shirts off, I'm all about my guys being comfortable on the job site. The people who disagree with it are ridiculous in my opinion. But most keep them on just so they don't get burned up really... ✌
@TheChristianHardscaper thats whats up i didnt think u would allow it, thats whats up bro, that makes me like your channel even more, i usually just tell the guys if u r covered in tattoos, keep a wife beater on min. u r killing it bro
Thanks man, yea I really don’t mind much about stuff like that. This work is tough, your guys need to be as comfortable as possible. Some companies here in Massachusetts make their guys wear polos while landscaping and Hardscaping. That’s ridiculous in my opinion.
I wish guys did work like you around here. The standard is rca and sand for base. Some guys do concrete and than sand. I will say my uncle has concrete and sand around his pool for 25+ years with zero issues. On long island
Yea those are definitely more traditional ways of laying pavers. They work good and are tested and true methods. The only problem with those 2 methods is when they are installed in areas that are constantly wet. The water is absorbed by the gravels base / concrete and sand which makes the pavers deteriorate quicker and causes shifting / sinking when winter comes and the ground freezes / thaws. This method works excellent for well draining areas and very wet areas. I have been using this method for 4.5 years now with no issues. ✌
Love your videos! Been watching for a while and as a hardscaper of just over 5 years I'm still learning and really enjoy watching how you guys do your processes! Beauty job as always!
Thank you, I love these wall blocks! Sorry you can find anything comparable. It seems like some areas have a harder time finding materials than others. Good luck and thanks again ✌
Damn bro!!! Looking good! Thanks for the tips on how these walls work. I’ve never done one before and I never know what I might get into lol. You are a block laying fool!!! Great job! I’m sure this one came out awesome! Hope all is well bro! Peace!
Thanks brother, no problem! These block walls are quick and more affordable than natural stone for sure, very popular around here... Everything is good here, I hope the same for you man! ✌
Love the wall and color combination. You really inspired me -- I can give it a shot. I am trying to build a sitting wall (freestanding) 20" high with 2 columns/pillers. Planning on laying a geogrid with the column and wall to keep it together as you showed. But I am having a hard time finding the type you used in a smaller size (2'X2' column extending to couple of blocks in the wall). Can I use a galvanized steel fencing wire mesh instead? Or any other alternatives? Really appreciate any suggestions or recommendations. I am using techobloc 6" mini-creta
Nice, sounds like a cool project! I would not recommend any kind of metal mesh, it is probably to thick... You can get geo grid in many different sizes, Whatever size you can find can be cut down to fit what you need just fine.
How much higher are you setting the first row over the string line before hitting it down? 1/4” ? Btw this channel is about to blow up for sure. 100k subs ain’t far away
Yes, 1/4" - 3/8" higher to make sure they don't sink down the road. And thank you very much for the positive feedback, this RUclips experience has been awesome so far. Looking forward to what the future brings!
How do you figure out how to cut the blocks that are next to the pillar? Do you just cut off that one small end to make it flush and alternate half and full as you go up?
So those are actually solid blocks, they are not upside down. These wall blocks come with a few solids mixed in so you can make your own corners if you have a block splitter.
@@TheChristianHardscaper thanks a lot for answering. That makes sense. So if you don’t use all then for corner making, you can just put them in anywhere?
Question: I’m in the process of laying pavers in an 8’ square area. On one side is a palm tree which is just over a foot away from the base gravel and it has roots growing out that I cut. Would it be helpful to bury some 6” wide concrete blocks at grade level along that side and fill with gravel to divert the roots? Or is the base gravel alone sufficient? Thanks
@@TheChristianHardscaper thanks for the response. I actually bought these 12” polyethylene root barriers. Digging 12” trench 20’ long with a mattock through roots every inch of the way really sucked. 😡
This man should have way more than 18k subs. Great content
✌
Nice work, this is a good reminder of the heat being just around the corner. Time to sweat.
It sure is, going to come quick.... 🔥😂
13:16 Ben the block dropper. Good job! I like how you locked the wall and pillar together with that geogrid, too.
😂 Yea buddy! That geo grid is very useful, it will really help hold all that together✌
Looking good, you all have way too much fun working together.😎
Thanks, we certainly try! 😂✌
Love these videos, and the neat landscapes you do and the gentle demeanor you show!! Love it! Hope you prosper and bloom!!
Thank you very much for the feedback and I'm glad you are enjoying the videos! God Bless ✌
Looks great. Techo is the best. Love that Semma wall block, so easy to use
Thanks man, They make awesome products. Semma is definitely my favorite split faced block out there. 👌
Great work boys.👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Nice work. God Bless your company.
Thank you very much! ✌
I really like how those pillar units have the rough partial inside pieces to help with alignment. I’ll have to try them sometime
Yea man, they are very nice block. One of the best pillar designs out there in my opinion. ✌
Great job as always guys.
Thanks man!
them suger free red bulls, i had 1 today, usually a suger free monster guys myself
where is your plum bob? jk could have used one off that corner of that over hang huh? they actually get used alot in commercial layout work
do u let the guys take their shirts off? jw it gets really hot. i dont really care tbh but i guess on certain jobs i wouldnt

Very good looking Technobloc sitting wall. I can't seem to find such beefy looking double sided blocks here near Seattle.

Such a nice build there. We need to see also how the blocks are made? It that possible
Thank you very much. You can probably find some videos on RUclips about how they make (Split Faced Concrete Wall Block)
Great work likes your jobs 💪💪👍👍
Thanks 👍
Kyle: I'm going to put that into slow-mo
Benny: Really?! It can't get much slower than that!
Kyle: Hold my beer
😆
🤣🤣 I could not help myself! LOL ✌
Looks amazing! Is the first course of the pillar and sitting wall half buried or fully buried?
Thank you! The first course is half buried. I only bury a full course when I build a retaining wall that is holding back a lot of pressure. ✌
Thank you sir for the quick response! Your passion for your work is admirable. Take care!
No problem at all, God Bless!

Do you recommend building sitting wall first, then lay the patio? or lay the patio and put the sitting wall on top of the pavers?
I never build sitting walls on top of pavers nor would I recommend it. Any wall should always be built on the base stone.
Why are the end blocks “upside” down, meaning flat part on top? Is this something that is some on first and last blocks only?
So those are actually solid blocks, they are not upside down. These wall blocks come with a few solids mixed in so you can make your own corners if you have a block splitter.
@@TheChristianHardscaper thanks a lot for answering. That makes sense. So if you don’t use all then for corner making, you can just put them in anywhere?
Kyle, what is the height you leave between the block and level that was on top of the level pipe?
1/4" - 3/8". That will let you settle it down into place nicely.

The base stone will be just fine. The roots will always find a way around things, but it should not cause problems for many, many years.

where do you get your orange dead blows ????
I get them from a local masonry supply store called (Camosse Masonry) but they are manufactured by (ABC Hammers)
