grsace if this was a Fleetwood Mac song sadly it’d be changed too much to fit the bands sound. Christine would have changed the piano keys and Lindsey would have a different idea on how stevie should sound and then mick would come in with drum beats and it would take away from the simplicity of this song :(

Because she recorded many of the demos for TISL 3 to 4 years before the final recordings were done. This was written in 1995, and probably demoed then. By, 2000, a bad menopause had hit Stevie, and her voice aged and naturally dropped a couple of octaves, altering that great timbre she had got back by 1995, and had been on full display on Fleetwood Mac's The Dance and its 1997 Tour, along with her Enchanted (Box Set) Tour in 1998...if she had recorded the entire album in 1998, it would have all sounded like this. If I had been Stevie, in 2000, I would have just taken the excellent, classic vocals from the 1995-1999 sessions and just made them the masters. At least those great performances would have been locked, kept in posterity, and would have generated even bigger record, single, and album sales for that comeback LP/CD in Spring 2001.
