A very nice project but unsafe for eggs and chicks. Always put a predator block over the access hole, cut 3-4 shallow kerf cuts under the acess hole out side and inside so chicks can climb out when they fledge, there is no access door for cleaning or checking chicks, there is no floor drainage. It's good not to paint or stain as they can be toxic and I like that you didn't put in a perch which predators use to reach into the box.

Thanks for the pointers...I'll be sure to incorporate these into the next build.

Cool build. Did you seal the wood with anything to protect it?

Thanks! I ended up putting a tan wood stain on it and then clear varnish on the roof. Next project I'll include that in the video.

    So cool
Where did you buy this table from?

Glad you liked the video! I really like this Parkside table...it is so useful and folds up really small. I picked it up at Lidl for 25 Euros. There are a bunch of tables out there that you can get from most major tool stores.

What type of glue did you use for the roof?

I used a waterproof outdoor wood glue. The brand was Pattex with a D3 rating, but any glue with these characteristics would do just fine. There are 4 levels of water and weather resistance, D1, D2, D3 and D4. D3 has a good all round water resistance and is very common. Good luck!

I've been making these out of cedar fence pickets for the last two weeks and I cannot make enough to sell at the flea market.
