The irony that there's a tutorial on RUclips explaining how to violate their terms while RUclips is trying to enforce them.
even more the fact that most of the time the reason you'd want to watch is is because you're getting the message
A testimony to how big YT is.
It isn't like a Restaurant where 1 out of 50 customers dines and dashes.
It is more like imagining a restaurant that serves 5,000,000 customers and 1,000 customers dine and dash.
Believe it or not, guys, we are the minority of people who have had the privilege to use YT ad free for years, simply because we have known the concept of an adblock much longer than the majority.
The only reason, YT even implemented this new anti-adblock, is because too many people became aware of it.
Biggest irony was that i had to disable my Adblock so i can watch the video about getting an Adblock that won't get blocked.
@@BestFilmproducer if the system is broken by exercising free will, then its a fucked system from the start. dont bootlick them, they are ungodly amounts of rich and do not care about end users. there are other less aggressive means that could be taken to achieve the same effect. but strangling your consumers and blocking them from all content unless they do exactly as you say to their detriment does not exactly constitute a positive environment. it creates disdain for the company. hell i may have just allowlisted youtube if it werent for how hostile their recent bullshit is. now i refuse to completely out of spite. i hope we as a collective can come together and migrate to another video sharing platform because youtube is a burning garbage fire of a platform

i never wanted an adblocked but it has become a necessity if your dont want to watch more ads then videos, not to mention the god awfull quality of aformentioned ads.
if youtube reduces its ad amount i would be willing to disable adblock again but for now i dont see that happening.

There are ads in this world, which are okay... and then there are two minye ads and the 4+ minute ads. Had a 22 minute ad once play, inserted into a friggin podcast I was listening to. Took me a while but eventually I was like 'huh? the hell am I listening to?' Ads that are too lone are beyond the pale and the reason folks use ad blockers.

Corporate Greed!
RUclips is literally free-to-use software, they're in full right to disable ad-blockers if that's the main source of their income. Although of course I understand it is very inconvenient to us, I think we're taking this service for granted.

@@nish3003 I sort of agree very much with you, it's just that advertising is incredibly obnoxious, and I have zero interest in ANYTHING I've ever seen in a youtube ad. They drive you insane with repetition, as if to insist I'm interested at all. (A common technique to cement something in your brain, incredibly annoying)
I don't think the price on yt premium is completely outrageous perse, but to suddenly charge to let me continue using the platform I'm already invested in, it doesn't feel like the best terms to be on, I'd go for 5 bucks a month because of that.
it'd be great if they focused on giving us ads we don't mind, as well as giving us a default volume slider for ads, going down to at least 20%, it's otherwise dysfunctional for listening to music passively. I'd also like a buffer, let's say I wanna listen to an album without interruptions, you can give me extra ads later to compensate.
If they actually make the ad experience user-friendly, I'm ALL for it. Well, advertising reliance has huge issues of it's own, but they gotta make money, patreon etc. will patch up holes as best as it can. Give us a like/dislike for ads, right above the skip button, don't rely on your ''genius'' algorithm to show me ads pls.
But nope, we're effectively back to the stoneage just like tv.

@@nish3003 Back like 10 years ago YT had simple ads that are just around the page, but they never interfered with videos or anything. The only thing those ads would do is sit there in plain sight as you are watching your videos without them being interrupted every 2 minutes. Nowadays you have to skip or watch unskippable ads every 3 minutes or so on longer videos. Hence the rising need for adblockers since they are using every possible opportunity to squeeze as many ads as possible on any video they can.

If it was commercials that lasted some 5-10 seconds once, then that would be fine. However when it's multiple times in a video of 10 minutes, whilst the adds lasts 40 seconds, then fuck them.

NOBODY wins when showing me all those ads. I will NEVER be tempted to buy any of their products. It's wasting MY time, it's wasting the company's money to show me that ad, and it's increasing the chance that the video creator will lose me a viewer. Everyone loses

I despise ads, and those on the side of the screen are within my limits, but, if you interrupt whatever I'm watching to waste my time I'll despise you. I hate TV for it, I wont have any sympathy for YT in that regard.
I know it's going to fall in deaf ears, but I can only hope they notice how averse people are reacting to this bullshit enforcement.
It wouldn't even be that bad if I got decent ads, but every time it's the same shit about some game that does not exist, with idiotic graphics made purely for the ad, and they all just lead to the evony website.
They get paid with ads and ask us to pay to remove the ads , what a world we live in !

I did this on the last video youtube was going to let me watch. If you don't know it does a 3-video countdown after repeated warnings saying "You have 3/2/1 videos remaining before playback will be disabled".

Just did it after Ublock Origin was not working, and my RUclips video just stayed Black. Seemed like the Purge all Caches and Update Now got it working again! Thank you
For those like me who couldn't watch cause they had been block lmao here's what I did:
install ublock origin and uninstall any other adblocker you may have because it can cause issues.
go to filter list and purge all catches then hit 'update all'
should work perfectly after that (hopefully, it did for me)

What's the catch? This video is a week old now, is this fix still usable? Thanks in advance... I'm sick of all the adds.
I watched 6 ads with only about 30 seconds of actual content watchtime,then I clicked off of the video altogether. 6 fucking ads.
March 21st, 2024 - ublock's 'update now' button is greyed out and I cannot update to the latest version? Does this mean I am on the latest version? ublock is only working sometimes, and the ad doesn't immediately "register" as an ad when I click on a video (as in the video progress bar is initially red then turns yellow as is customary for ads when the ad is playing). Not sure if that fact helps, just trying to not watch ads... at all.
