That nervous little grunt gets me every time! LOL I've never seen anyone in any comedy film ever do that. It is so unique to Woody Allen, and is so perfect, because it is what happens to your voice sometimes when you are a very shy person and are extremely nervous, your voice kind of closes up and you can barely talk. Brilliant scene.
Hysterical - and the face he pulls just after he's said it because he's really pleased with himself. His demonstration of how to authentically eat rice kills me. 'And it's kinda like a shoveling movement'
This was the first Woody Allen movie I ever saw. The year was 1972 and I was 16. I fell madly in love with him after that. This movie still brings belly laughs.
You know the moment when Sharon mentions that she has a terrible headache early on as they’re getting drinks at Woody’s apartment, that it’s already over for Woody. Hilarious scene.
I was ill at home on a wet Tuesday afternoon in the UK, sitting on the couch in 1995 when this movie came on. I swear to this day that is the funniest movie scene I have ever seen and I laughed so much I thought I was going to be sick. When he accidentally kicks over the furniture at the end nearly finished me off. The guy is a blinking genius.
I have seen this movie by accident about 10 years ago. shortly after my gf has left me and woody perfectly reflected all my feelings in that time and it was also funny.
The word genius is over used but up to the early 80s his books and films were the funniest and most insightful comment of the era at that time and have withstood the test of time. He faded after that for me though as he tended to repeat himself.
It restates the negativeness of the universe…the hideous, lonely emptiness of existence…nothingness…the predicament of man forced to live in a barren, godless eternity like a tiny flame flickering in an immense void with nothing but waste, horror, and degradation forming a useless, bleak straitjacket in a black, absurd cosmos
The white, rusty on the edges, GM van just passed by ...makes me nervous ...white rusty vans, with no windows but 3 ...be cautious ...don't say hello 🥸
You guys are crazy... it’s not about great acting - it’s about him being Woody. Woody is Woody, in all his films. He’s the everyman/neurotic in all of us, or at least how we were in the 70’s. This is a classic film showing insecurities and dating life in this era.
Everyone knows he's one of the best comedy writers there ever was, but Woody is tremendously underrated as a slapstick/physical comedian.
“Oh - a Bourbon man....” “I’m putting away a quart a day”.... Brilliant dialogue. 😂

"I love the rain. It washes memories off the sidewalks of life." Genius!
I say that every time it rains. Chicks think I'm really deep,.
Hysterical - and the face he pulls just after he's said it because he's really pleased with himself. His demonstration of how to authentically eat rice kills me. 'And it's kinda like a shoveling movement'
One of the absolute most funniest scene ever made for cinema😄 I still laugh..even if I have seen it hundreds of times now..
me too!
Love the slapstick he's funny.
So have I. Thousand times
Just clipped the scene before the brilliantly awkward flick of his tie though.....
Agreed there I just remembered it
Woody allen is a genius

Perfect in every way. The slapstick is some of the best you’ll ever see.
Peace and Love
The grunt-Hello is a scream...
I love the grunt.
this is one of the funniest, rolling-on-the-floor hilarious scene i've ever seen.
The chair!! Leaning on the chair is the best, that and winging the record across the room. 😅
the song is is specifically composed by Oscar Peterson for the film and is entitled "Blues for Allan Felix".
Wow! I never knew that! It's a nice piece of music.
As comedy scenes go. Definitely up there with the best. Brilliant !
Has to be one of THEEEEEE Funniest scenes . Woody, i salute you.
The funniest film I have ever seen
sylvie bertran me too!
You know the moment when Sharon mentions that she has a terrible headache early on as they’re getting drinks at Woody’s apartment, that it’s already over for Woody. Hilarious scene.
Watching Tony Roberts trying to hide his laughter after Woody flip the chair is absolute gold.
Love the "suicidal" woman. Beautiful and well delivered.....................How about thursday?
Classic!
Friday
I was laughing out loud watching the blind date scene:) Hilarious!!!

saw it when it came out at the cinema and it is still one of the funniest movies of all time.......

Tremendous poise.
I'm an absolute master. LOL
I love the genuine laugh where they break character at 3:29.
How do you know that's a character break? If that were to happen in real life I'm sure some people would respond with a laugh.
Ron Howard I don't really. But it looks so genuine
I agree....there's another part later when he gets beat up by the gang and he tells Diane Keaton about it. I swear she's really laughing.
@@ronhoward9292 If you watch the scene carefully, the actress puts her head down and starts to laugh right before the physical comedy.
A gem.
Diane Keaton in her prime!
"Ohhh, a bourbon mannn" 😅

Lol brilliant so funny classic woody.
Just Love this movie!
This may be funnier than some like it 🔥.
"You should have 'em drained."
Press '1' over and over...
*tears*
"what did she say?" "She would rather not....."
I so much thank you...
Funniest comedy scene ever
This scene is no less cringeworthy (and hilarious), even after all these years! 😄
Who are you setting me up with, General Motors?
Very funny.
Gunna see Miss Liza-Goin to Mississippi
The white, rusty on the edges, GM van just passed by ...makes me nervous ...white rusty vans, with no windows but 3 ...be cautious ...don't say hello 🥸
The funniest comedy Woody did not direct.
The idea of Bogie helping Woody try to seduce Diane Keaton was ingenious. The rest of the movie was only brilliant.
Love woody allen
Woody Genius Allan.
What about Friday?
What’s the name of the song playing in the last scene?
Excellent, but how can I get the soundtrack to this film???
The song? Anyone? Please?
So funny
Woody is returning to San Francisco for his next film!
Yeah Kramer ruined it with "These Pretzels are making me thirsty"
"I love the rain. It washes memories off the sidewalk of life." That's a great pickup line...NOT! Lol.
Museum pick up!!! What about fri. night?
What other films of his are set in San Francisco?
One scene was filmed in Sausalito Horizons my old place
Blue Jasmine and I think Take the Money and Run as well
The nerd strikes again
@4:35 Did he just admit to being into necrophilia?
His films would have been better if he had been a good actor, which he was not.
garrison 68 that and the accusations
