  • Bond (Roger Moore) ski’s down the mountain pursued by assassins on motorbikes in FOR YOUR EYES ONLY (1981). Filmed in Cortina, Italy, the motorbikes’ wheels were fitted with special spike-laden tyres to ensure they could grip the snowy ground while travelling at 50mph.

0:35 - the 'twang' sound from those flags as Bond goes through 😆
1:57 - the guy who gets the cake thrown in his face
3:17 - Bond waves to the bobsleigh crew
3:21 - Bond signals to the crew to go faster (pure Roger Moore) 😆
3:38 - the "wheee" sound effect and cow as Bond flies out of the bobsleigh run 😆
3:49 - the chicken sound effects as Kriegler goes through the barn and then hits the log in a comical crash
I watched this scene over and over as a kid, probably one of my favorites.

@@GuineaPigEveryday I believe it all comes down to crafting the action scene from muliple set-pieces (tension moment in the forest + the ski jump + the chase in the forest zone + the bobsled chase) and the dynamic of the scene. Not like in Spectre for example (driving in the city + ton of exposition during driving in the city + driving near the river). My favourite Bond with Roger Moore, the only one I hade on VHS as the family was away when it was broadcasted on Swedish TV, so my parents had to buy the VHS. Love the music, the action, the locations, the carchase (oh my the 2CV) and the intro with Blofeld :)

The skier going down the bobsleigh run is incredible. After the rather ridiculous Moonraker, this Bond was high on action, less gadgets and a rather more plausible plot. I loved Topol in the film especially when he talks to Bond on the boat to convince him that he is not the villain. Also, still the only Bond film to actually feature the singer of the title song in the credits.

Very exciting chase scene, this. I get the impression that this is what For Your Eyes Only was trying to achieve as Bond tussled with Blofeld, but it just works so much better here. But I also love how it concludes with Kriegler unable to chase Bond further. I find it HILARIOUS how the music builds up as he's struggling to lift his motorbike to throw at Bond, and then can't throw it far! 🤣

    • @adamlea6339

    • @ryanodonovan9497

@@adamlea6339 I don’t doubt that. I’m just saying that the music makes it look like he’s going to throw the motorbike with superhuman strength and come within inches of crushing Bond, only for him to barely throw it any distance. It just comes off as unintentionally funny.
