    The door with the "DOORS" symbol on it is room 103 in the Oceanview hotel, and in the Elderwood Lodge, room 103 is the door that an NPC continuously knocks on throughout the game, eventually pounding and slamming into it near the end. And if I remember correctly, you could hear knocking from outside one of the Oceanview Motel doors in Control.

    • @KimmyQueen

      Supposedly the hotel is somewhere where every now and then a motorist does come and knock to see if it is opened. I understood that is what happened on Control ... Late Goodbye by Poets of the Fall from Max Payne 2 foreshadows the events of Bright Falls - the official prequel movie for Alan Wake. The song is first heard in MP2 whistled by a janitor wearing headphones. The song's official music video features a middle-of-nowhere motel and the band can be seen performing inside, with some truly ghastly orange wallpaper. This exact same wallpaper is found inside the Oceanview Hotel in Alan Wake 2.

    I know it's more obvious but Tim's board mentioning a red headed woman while he talked about dreaming of other realities involving him made me squeal. Good on Shawn Ashmore for coming back. Also, Tim Breaker just said Sarah "Joined the Feds." I bet she's in Control 2. Her father was FBC after all. Alice and Barry both have Blessing stuff tied to them (Alice's boxes and Barry's email though I know you mentioned you weren't going to talk about them) but honestly some of the stuff involving Alex Casey is what's most mysterious to me. Casey feels like the center of the spiral. There is FBI!Casey, Book!Casey, Dark Place!Casey, Film (hollywood)!Casey and Film(Zane)! Casey. On some level I worry it's Sam Lake doing some ego stroking, related but separate... is this all Max Payne's dying dream?

    About the White Triangle: I think it's OUR reality.
    Dylan implies not only that he knows that he is in a game, but that there is a specific reality in which they are a game or are experienced through a game.
    I would connect this to the White Triangle door not only because it's the only one we don't know anything about, but also because the Koskella Book Club having the same triangle could be a reference to that (the book club = a place where people read and discuss books/stories = our world)

      Oh God, what a great idea! Paul became a full-blown Shifter like Hatch after being defeated in Quantum Break and becomes Chester Bless after learning about the existence of Objects of Power and Altered World Events. Maybe even his abilities as a Shifter are what allows him to be such a talented paracriminal that he can manufacture OoP’s outright.
      After all, he has experience with both. What is the Countermeasure if not an OoP, and what is the End of Time if not an Altered World Event? 👀👀

    • @ContrastCopy
      @ContrastCopy 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@xCarnageV1I don’t think the countermeasure or end of time fit Control’s logic very well. An altered world event is an effect of an altered item, which are linked to collective unconscious, or a threshold of a world bleeding into ours. The countermeasure is also not an OOP or an altered item as it isn’t affected or created by the collective unconscious or can be bound to anyone. Also an OOP specifically have to be under the reigns of the Board or The Former to be bound to anyone or even classified as an OOP.

    • @xCarnageV1
      @xCarnageV1 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@ContrastCopy I generally agree, but Hatch explains finding a ‘natural’ Time Machine in a cave. That’s how he became a Shifter. The powers that the Countermeasure tap into could be, at the very least, something beyond the understandings of our reality.
      Time is talked about and played with extensively in Alan Wake 2, where Tim Breaker also appears with egregious connections to Jack Joyce and Mr. Door, so I’m just trying to contextualize the events of QB with the story threads Remedy has given us in AW2.

    • @xCarnageV1
      @xCarnageV1 6 месяцев назад

      @@ContrastCopy And to expound on this: The Countermeasure was only created as a means of tapping into Time as we understand it, or the collective unconscious belief in how Time works, and how it can be held together in the event that it breaks down. The End of Time can be considered a Threshold as it irrevocably alters the reality it intrudes upon and is host to the presence of the Shifters, who for all intents and purposes exist beyond our reality and yet within it, behind the veil.
      The concept of Time itself is just that: a concept, an archetype to describe the motion of reality. The Fracture only occurs because Wilder, Joyce, and Serene go back into the past to obtain the Countermeasure, in an attempt to fix the Fracture. The End of Time only occurs because of their meddling in the past and their belief in how time works. It was a device that was only created for the express purpose of stopping the thing that it ultimately ends up being the cause of, activated by the very same people who were so desperate to stop it in the first place: an ouruboros of creation, not unlike Alan’s journey.

    Your channel is quickly becoming one of my favorites!
    I have thoughts on film Zane vs poet Zane as one being his Scratch. When Alan in is the Dark Place, his Scratch is borne of his inner feelings of rage and the public perception of him. When Saga enters, her "scratch", whom she tries to profile, is made of her fears and perceived failures.
    I think that when Zane went into the Dark Place, he wrote himself and Barbara out of reality, and his Scratch was left behind for us to interact with.
    The Dark Presence creates a version of a creative/parautilitarians "bad parts," the things about us that eat away at our true selves. Alan's was his anger, Saga's, her fear. For Zane, it was his vices.

    • @ContrastCopy
      @ContrastCopy 6 месяцев назад +1

      Checks out. It also makes sense that this one is running amuck given that Zane just made a pocket dimension for him and Barbara. Zane never faced his demons like Alan did, so his scratch is just left free.

    The neon signage that shows up in some room permutations in Alan's side if you add Cult keywords doesn't always form triangles for the cult logo, but V-signs, like Valkyr graffiti scattered across Max Payne.
    (One set shows up in the subway tunnels, another in the rehearsal space, IIRC).
    You also seem to skip over how the Cult of the Word has a logo made out of the same triangles but laid out into a W shape, and that appears among the actual doodles Ilmo made you can find in the Cult's headquarters at the Kalevala Knights workshop.
    (You also talked about the True Tom Rhymer connection on one of the Hidden Machine podcasts, but I don't think you put it in a lore video yet?)

      @@GamingUniversityUoG yeah, I was more so thinking if him putting those cut out words into the shoebox first has any significance or if it's just a random phrase really. If it could, for example, have an effect on the hiss chant in the sense that it would prevent it from being influenced by the dark place and straying away from Alan's original intent. I don't really have the evidence to back this up though lol

    With this connected universe come so many possibilities; we could have games of a great variety of themes and tones. I have a few ideas myself for Project Condor. When I first heard that it was going to be a multiplayer game, I was a little disappointed because I don't like multiplayer games that much. In my mind, those games are not that story-driven. But then I started thinking of ways that the game could appeal to people like me. So, this is how I see it.
    In Alan Wake 2, Agent Estevez mentions that the FBC has containment facilities after the dark presence leaves Alan's body. For all we know, there could be hundreds of these facilities all over the country. So, I think that Project Condor should take place in one of these facilities. We would play as a group of Rangers in charge of making sure that the paranatural entities and altered items in the facility don't escape.
    The game could be played as a four-player "A Way Out," in which each player would be part of the same story. This would make the game a coop PvE, but it would be very story-driven. In terms of the story, we could have a massive containment breach in which a handful of paranatural entities escape. We have to recontain them before they escape the facility. At some point, we could learn that the containment breach was caused by a blessed organization operative that infiltrated the facility, setting up control 2 along the way.
    That's just my idea on how this game could further build this world.

    The dodecahedron and dog thing could also be a reference to faster than light travel of information via QUANTUM entanglement as a reference to, you know, QUANTUM break.
    They could be trying to say that the platonic shapes hold special power and are existing in the ideal (platonic) world and not just our real world.
    In a sense those shapes allow you to mess with the fabric of the "Ocean" such as the board being a pyramid and having its own branch in space, and the items in quantum break and sterling also allowing people to tap into the "Ocean" without being part of the special family of "Door" people that can do that at will.

    I might be going out on a limb here but i think that the oldest house's counterpart is the dark place. Not in an absolute way but id like to think that both locations have some form of will and they might be at odds with each other. One is clearly more stable and formed for order while the other is a mess of dreams and chaos.

I also noticed in your video with hidden machine and someone else that you guys said Tom might be Alan’s father. ALAN WAS BORN 7 YEARS AFTER TOM DISAPPEARED ALMOST AS IF HE CAME OUT LIKE RHYMER DID. I fully believe for now that he is Alan’s dad and that Tom and Alan have more control/connection to the dark place than everyone else

Each one over the other and seemingly protected the other, smaller ones. I've already wondered if the "someone close to me" being threatened by Wake's writing was not Saga, but Logan (or both of course is possible).

    But wouldn't it be cool to have something like the game "A Way Out" buy playing the Anderson Brothers in their "Origin Story" back in the 70s?
    2 player co-op, pick your Anderson Brother and let's get to the bottom of this. Battle the Dark presence, get an awesome soundtrack, the dark one, lose one eye (the wrong one)... all while getting drunk on moonshine. Now that's a great game right there!
