I believe we are gaining in biblical authority and gathering together again because of the calm gentle wisdom of men like Hugh Ross. More people in my circle are willing to look at the Bible now because of physics. I appreciate Ken Ham, but his approach isn’t what college educated adults are willing to subscribe to....the goal is to save....so we need to trust that God brings each of his lost sheep ( I was one) back however they can hear him. Good Bless!

Gods not calm and gentle towards men , read the Old Testament! ,he told us not to trust men over and over again,
The Bible is written in parables, only a few are revealed, the rest are revealed to his servants who believe his words and do them , reading the Bible like a workman, those who don’t believe Gods words and do them are not believers, God calls them liars?
Don’t Ye know the father and son are one?
      1 Timothy 6:3
“If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;”
      2 John 1:9
“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.”
      Psalms 37:3
“Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”
      Mark 7:7
“Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”
      1 John 2:4
“He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”
Read his words and hope that he comes to you, so You needeth not any man teach you?
      1 John 2:27
“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”

      Romans 3:4
“God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.”

      Colossians 2:22
“Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?”

Imagine what it’s like to be eternal? BELIEVE GOD!

      *Genesis 1:30;*
*And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.*

The sun was created on day 1 , the atmosphere was too thick for light to reach the surface . That’s why the text is specific to say darkness was on the SURFACE of the deep . Even science backs up that the earths atmosphere was so thick in its beginning stages that light couldn’t penetrate to the surface. Day 2 notice God transforming the atmosphere. Day 3 now there is vegetation growing adding oxygen thin out the atmosphere. Day 4 the sun moon and stars now become distinct objects, getting ready for Gods creatures who need visibility of the lights in heaven to regulate there biological clocks.

Dr. Bloom is the smartest man in the room, and is thoughtful and nuanced. He was one of my professors. I wish we had heard more from him. Ken Ham did the most talking, more than his fair share, and was the least convincing in some respects.
Having said all that, from my studies, I agree with Ham's position--both biblical and scientific. I just don't like his approach. But the evidence for a recent global, worldwide flood is tremendous. Secular geology can tell us very little about how we got the landscape we see today. And fossilization takes very special conditions. Do some reading on that. I would recommend Michael Oord's books--very thoughtful and based on extensive research. And do some reading on genetics--John Sanford and Douglas Axe. I think their work is well founded on evidence and is a slam dunk for young earth creationism.

For me the most important thing is in the beginning God created that seems to be the sweet agreement between old Earth creationist and younger. I do not believe the Bible teaches a local flood I believe Ken Ham is correct on a global flood since the geological evidence points to that and the New Testament writings of the Apostle Peter. I enjoyed this great debate between the two brother's in Christ. I think both guys know how to present their cases and I think they both have the same agenda and that is to share the love of Jesus with a broken world that has the need for the truth and that is that Jesus died for our sins and was raised for our justification. Dr. Ross's position is that God gave two books, the Bible and the Book of Nature. First of all where in the Bible does God speak of the Book of Nature? Second if the two disagree which do we choose? For example the Bible gives the date of the creation of Adam as being ~ 4,000 BC. (The date can be calculated from the genealogies, and events. I did it. There are no gaps.) Dr. Ross comes up with the date for Adam being 50,000 to 90,000 years ago based on "the Book of Nature". Also, who interprets the Book of Nature? Is it Dr. Ross and fellow scientists? They don't agree among themselves. A typical sign of a Sect is that they have additional "sources" beside the Bible. They consider their Book (Pearl of Great Price, Book of Mormon, Koran, etc.) as being superior to the Bible. This position is very dangerous.

The Earth, the Universe were created much earlier. The genealogy of Adam starts with the creation of Adam not the creation of Earth. Big difference!
By the way, I believe that both Ken Ham and Dr Ross are wrong in their interpretation of Genesis 1. The "Six Days" are neither 24 hrs long or millions of years long. The six days are a prophecy of the next six thousand years history of men. You can see the covenant of God with Adam, Noah, Abraham, and David, and the Church at the start of each thousand year history. The seventh thousand year, the "day of rest", is the millennial reign of Christ with no ending. The phrase, "and the evening and the morning was the seventh day" is missing for a reason. Cause it was obvious that an old earth model makes sense and Ken ham looked pretty bad in this. TBN still has its theology and will shut down what doesn’t line up with it. It’s basically Christian media with an agenda. Think fox or cnn.

Perspective is an interesting thing. I thought that Ken Ham was the only sane one in the room.

Both Ham and Ross are wrong. The 6 days are obviously literal days because each day has evening and morning. But there is an obvious gap between Gen 1:1 and 1:2. God did not create the world in chaos and confusion. So the Bible allows for billions of years between the original creation and the re-creation of Gen. 1:3.

this is called the gap theory and if this really did happen then why would God recreate the Earth bc if there was no sin, there is no death so the earth could not have been destroyed bc thats death.

Jesus prayed in Matt 6, "Our Father...lead us not into temptation.." Yet scripture is clear that God does not tempt us. Does Jesus contradict the Bible? Of course not! An "historical" interpretation as Ken Ham claims to follow is the wrong interpretation. The correct interpretation is..."do not let us be lead into temptation..." so it is with Genesis chapter 1. God did NOT "make" the sun and moon on the forth day but "exposed" the sun and moon clearly unto the surface of earth on the forth day. It is time for us Christians to use common sense and recognize that the Bible will not contradict God's created world and physics see Romans 1:20. Because that situation just pushes truth seeking scientists further away from God. However Christians can genuinely confront "speculative" science such as the theory of evolution which has weaker and less evidence. Come on man, you don't have to be a dogmatic believer like Ham to believe the Bible is absolutely true!

      @Hadloc411 Год назад

No, you just believe God lied. In Genesis He lays out a historical narrative, yet you say that was not what He actually did, therefore you call God a liar.

I’m going to assume that you can read Hebrew since you’re talking with authority. In genesis 1:2, it says formless. That word tohu in the strongs exhaustive means desolation as it was laid to waste, destroyed. Did God create a destroyed earth or was there time between genesis 1:1 and genesis 1:2?

Ken Ham is precisely that - a ham. Or, to put it differently, "un salame". If you don't know what that means, look it up in an Italian dictionary.
The mistake these chaps are making is the bible. The bible is a Stone Age book that has nothing whatever to say about science. Get real.
