Many people don’t deserve to be parents. Many people should NOT be parents. It is one of the most alarming issues in our Country. It is not nearly given the degree of planning and education that should be involved. We currently have over 1 million kids homeless and yet we continue to legislate and encourage child birth. When the calamity of legislation shows the result in suffering maybe people will start realizing it takes intelligence, financial ability, family support, caring individuals to raise a family. We need to stop telling young people having children is easy. Stop it now.

She is not a mother. She is someone that gave birth to a child. My dad's first wife had five kids when they married. They had four together. When they divorced, she wanted none of the children. A couple by then were over 18 and had moved out, but the majority of children went with my dad, and when he met my mom, she treated them all like her children. So did my maternal grandparents and aunts and uncles. At times we get somewhat strange looks because I was the only child my parents had together, and I am much much younger than the oldest kids. Recently, one of my sisters and one of my nieces went someplace, and they ask if we were all together. My sister said yes, with my niece and with my sister. She introduced us, but my niece is about 10 years older than I am, and the woman kept looking back in forth between all of us. My mom also almost got accused of cheating on my dad because one of the oldest boys (biologically Dad's first wife's son, but Dad legally adopted him so it's his son) stopped in to have lunch with his wife at the hospital where she worked. My mom worked in the cafeteria and was only a few years older than him. He said I love you when he started to walk away, and her boss came running over to her asking what she thought she was doing? The funny thing is I was standing right there too because I had off work and had come in to have lunch with my mother. When my mother said that's my son, her boss just glared at her. I confirmed it and she just kind of shook her head. As you can imagine, having all those kids was expensive and my mom would make their clothes. So being a mother is not just giving birth, it's taking responsibility and caring for a life wholeheartedly, not just when you want to.

So true. The fact is statistics show a huge % of prisoners come from abusive homes. This might’ve screwed them up to commit crime but it doesn’t mean they don’t still have some morals. Ironically, these people may well represent what was done to them, hence why their prison justice is extremely malevolent.

American jails are different, because there are a lot of child abusers in prison. Third world prisons are what you’re thinking about. @orionefx a lot of convicts don't take kindly to crimes against children. For instance, there's numerous cases of child predators getting attacked or killed once the other inmates find out what they did. Once the inmates find out what this lady did, it's over for her.

You're right. No remorse. Ever, at all. During the trial, she looked irritated, and then during sentencing....as we see...just ANGRY that the judge DARES to admonish her. ALL her family supported her. The only people who spoke for the murdered child: the police officers who found her. Not a single relative.

That's not justice, that's the easy way out. Justice is forcing her to spend the rest of her life in prison, remembering what she did to her daughter. Living day after day with her actions and no way out.
My daughter is in her mid-thirties. There wasn't ever a time that I left her alone for even 10 minutes. I can't even wrap my head around leaving her for 10 days. I never understood why people would take their kids to an NC17 movie. If you can't afford a sitter, you can't afford to go out to do anything... No movies, no dinner out, no traveling, etc. Why would anyone think this is ok? I don't get it...

When I see women out shopping or in a restaurant with screaming babies, I'm angry at the mother not the child. But I do wonder if anyone in her life noticed her struggling, even a friend or neighbor? American jails are different, because there are a lot of child abusers in prison. Third world prisons are what you’re thinking about. Had she stayed in the country that she came from, she would probably have gotten severely beaten in prison. She’s probably glad to spend the rest of her life in an American prison.

My daughter is in her mid-thirties. There wasn't ever a time that I left her alone for even 10 minutes. I can't even wrap my head around leaving her for 10 days. I never understood why people would take their kids to an NC17 movie. If you can't afford a sitter, you can't afford to go out to do anything...

My son as well. I was home alone with a baby in a new town with no friends or family and a husband who worked 12 hr days. When I see women out shopping or in a restaurant with screaming babies, I'm angry at the mother not the child. But I do wonder if anyone in her life noticed her struggling, even a friend or neighbor? What about the father?? And I'm terrified with so many states forcing women to have children...

Unless there is some medical reason that makes it not a viable pregnancy or in some way is medically a risk to the mother, then a 28 week old foetus is highly likely to be able to survive with medical assistance outside of the womb. There is very little debate by 28 weeks and very few terminations after that time. Being pro-life and being anti-abortion, are not the same thing.
