I remember meeting shroud in Toronto at a faceit lan. He’s just the most laid back casual guy and I think that translated to his gameplay like you mentioned. Successful players have a drive to be the best in the world and shroud never seemed to show those qualities. I haven’t watched or played csgo in years but I’ll never forget how disgusting shrouds aim/movement was. Great video brought back a lot of good memories.
Every time someone brings up Shroud's pro career, I just imagine the cloud9 roster being at a boot camp or practice environment, where everyone is focused and going through drills or tactics or whatever, and then shrouds just sitting there running dailies in wow in between rounds. Imagine being his teammate.
If it doesn’t impact the practice at all, I don’t see a problem.
If it does, then it is a problem.

Thorin is surely the historian, great asset for the game, as a recommendation, I think adding clips of the events/historical moments that are part of the video would make it such an amazing way to relate to the events etc. Otherwise, top tier, keep at it Thorin
I hate the narrative of Shroud somehow being the greatest in NA CS. People have no idea what they're talking about with regards to the history. All it takes is a look at his stats over the years. He got most of the views for pugstomping, not for his pro performance.but He is the perfect example of missed potential to me. Respect for the streaming grind, but he clearly does not have what it takes to become and remain a high level competitor. Thanks for the content, Thorin.
That's just it, he had the skill to actually be the best, but he spent that talent in other ways instead of competitive success.

All top players are in CS..if t1 cs player start to move to valorent ,would be bad news for lots of valorent players.
I absolutely shit on everyone in valorant in any rank until I lost track of new characters and stopped playing.
But I can’t break A+ in ESEA.
@@cr3amy479 not true bro, when it comes down to it theyre completely different games. CS is about perfecting an execute, where as valorant is much more unpredictable. some T1 CS players cant adapt to that as well as the ex CS T2 pro's who switched. CS is very straight forward compared to valorant, meaning val demands more iq. the only thing holding valorant back is the maturity of the community, everyones a troll or an edge lord
@@kieran2260 i think any T1 CS pro can be one of the best in pro val if they choose to grind it, which means backing out of the pro CS scene. Valorant, to me, is too random, too many angles, maps dont make sense, casual friendly spray/recoil, and somehow players with bad mechanics can get away often compared to CS where bad mechanics are definitely punished. I'd still prefer CS tho, discovering and perfecting nade spots, performing execs, and honing your mechanics to perfection is just sounds better and rewarding.
@Thooorin it might help your voice to sound better if you turn down your mic recording volume in Windows. It seems to be clipping/distorting sometimes. Idk if you care, just putting that out there

I don’t believe that is up for debate.
What could be up for debate is whether he deserved his celebrity. Scream is similar, he was infamous for is ed shots and every gold nova player in the world with a HS rate about 20% wanted to emulate him, but he’s just an amazing aimer, but not a great CS player.
Shroud is in a similar position, all his pugstomp clips on client come off to players that don’t know any better as a more important match than it is. Majority of his clips are just esea pug or mm stomps.

Extremely well put. He is one of the most overrated players because of his habit to go and stream a MM game or some other game full of noobs and shit on everyone.
Shroud was a star for a short while, but at the end of the day he’s far better at streaming/entertainment. People seem to forget that he had numbers close to ninja for a good while back in the pubg days. And also, one of the best pubg players to exist back in those days.

I have no nostalgia for shroud at all, I barley watched CSGO during his time, nor do I miss him in competitive CS, but I am grateful. It was because of him many people began to play FPS games in general in NA, and strive to gain aim like the one they saw on their monitors screen, glued to shrouds stream. I’m grateful for all the memories he gave.

thorin, please tell me how can u call 2015 fnatic the best cs team ever when 2018 astralis existed?? 2018 astralis was the best team in any esport or sport regardless, of all time with no questions asked. never ever has there been a strech of time where the same team DESTROYED EVERYONE ELSE like Astralis did. Fnatic 2015 u could argue that VP always was just around the corner to be the new n1 team. not with astralis tho the gap between 2018 astralis and the 2nd ranked team in 2018 were galaxies apart. srsly, astralis smoked them 16-5, 16-3 every game...

Aren't there clips of shroud cheating while streaming? I remember watching those super sus clips and not understanding why anyone took him seriously ever since. Did enough time pass to where people forgot or is him snapping onto people speedhacking and onto teammates, let alone enemy players not sus anymore?
