The whole episode was amazing with the expressions, especially with Gui Jinki's, along with the dread and tension that kept hanging over the air. There is just one thing that I can't help but notice and gave me a chuckle: they had to skip turn 4 and 5 because they couldn't figure out a way that Grypho could have won no matter what plot armor they gave it so they just went right to turn 6
This is probably the best first episode of any Will+Dress Season so far. Understandable since this episode had 2 Seasons of buildup to support it. Man What an episode: - The eerie feeling the entire fight, Gui's warped facial expression to match his warped perception of himself as the Vanguard for the entire world. - Throughout the episode you can feel Yuyu's dread, that gutwrenching feeling he gets everytime his attacks don't go through. All this while Gui demeans Yuyu's ideals. - The glimmer of hope you see with Yuyu smiling when Gui confirms there'll be a place for his kind of fighters after the "ultimate match" ensues ... Only to tell him it'll be as Uniformers that they'll be accepted. Really giving a cult-like aspect to Uniformers. And immediately you see his slight hopeful smile turn into frustration. - I was genuinely shocked when Yuyu said "Kuso". In my mind, I think we never saw Yuyu utter a single swear (or informal phrasing) in the entire series. - The ultimate show of disrespect is the use of Yuyu's former Ace Esperaridea to finish him off right after crushing his Partner Trickstar with Griphogila. The Screen writers and Animators did a Superb job on this Season. I Can't Say it enough

While I wholeheartedly agree they skipped parts of the fight, it was still a very solid performance, I’d expected YuYu to lose given the cardfight played out but wasn’t expecting to lose his former grade four. Yes, what YuYu did was very messed up but at the same time Gui was demeaning YuYu’s ideologies for Vanguard and I felt YuYu’s dread and his gut-wrenching feelings throughout the episode. 🫢😮😰 There are very little problems but like you said, what a way to kickoff Season Three!!! 💛💖🌟
Jeez that was a mean fight. Seeing Yuyu being more mad and not being his excited self during the fight felt wrong, and Gui using Esperidea was a shock. Although not really, since players already use it in Griphogelia decks in real life.
Even tho its not a reverse card, man, i feel hurt seeing Esperaridea was used like that. When Valiente and Bram Vairina standing side by side, its so cool. Then Esperaridea appear in front of Gripho with evil looking, knowing it was YuYu's, well we can say strongest card and lore wise Vairina's strongest form. Its sad to see Trickstar/Nirvana got defeated by Esperaridea. Looking forward at the lore of this scene/moment.
Glad I’m not the only one who felt hurt by this because when I saw Esperaridea being used like “that”, my jaw dropped instantly and went saying “WTF just happened there?!!!”, sure parts of the fight were skipped (Which I didn’t like.), it was still very entertaining to watch but ouch, this was indescribable in which made me teary-eyed at that moment!!! 😭🥶😰

And my bro Trickstar crushed like an ant and Jheva obliterated, my feelings and thoughts all over place😫😭 Well on a good note I love how Raika, Yuyu and Urara's reasonings are all over place but they share the same goal. I love how this episode makes it more believable that the Uniformers are actual antagonist to stop beyond them just being "basically a cult centered around a card game they are really into it". Especially by showing what they did To Zakusa and how tha'ts what they basically wantt for everyone

Well, we know what the closing argument against Gui will be: “Your fight is boring.” If everyone is just a clone of the same fighter, then the outcome is decided all the time. Gui’s “Utopia” is simply a way to induce widespread apathy towards a game. In essence, the fun will be stripped away.
You know i saw someone use double varina esperiedea in griphogelia… it was brutal. 8 attacks in all. 2 of them with over trigger boosted. And the opponent had 3 damage.
This is just Episode 1 and I'm already slammed with a lot of emotional whiplash Spoilers! The feeling of eeriness is stagnant throughout this episode it literally gave me chills down my spine, I never felt this uneasy and nervous for a Vanguard episode in a very long time, I knew that Yuyu was gonna lose this one since it's episode 1 but man this fight was just... I can't even describe this beat-down, I'm at a loss of words as I was writing this. I might be assuming this too soon but this season might take Overdress season 2's spot in being my best Vanguard season, in my opinion. So "Shirogane" VS Haruka is the next fight, yeah I'ts obvious that Haruka's losing this, and we might see Orfist Masques next episode, but one thing I pray is that I hope this isn't a fight where if Haruka loses she has to join Uniformers with Mirei, because Mirei joining Uniformers is the last thing I want this series to pull, I'm aware that in the previous season Zakusa joined Uniformers so that Masanori will stay away from Mirei but I can't help but feel that Uniformers still want fighters like Mirei to join them.

Good episode and a decent fight. My only complaint is that they pulled a G and skipped straight to grade 3 ignoring grade 2 and they skipped the turn after Gui guarded Yu-Yus attacks. I wanted to see what happened in those turns. This better not be a sign that they are rushing this season. Overall- 7.9/10 :/
I really want them to do more of what Buddyfight constantly did with alternate what-if forms not shown in the anime, like Lostified Garga/Cross/Agito. This would be the perfect opportunity and Bushiroad is not taking it. They took forever to release V-exclusive Яeverse units so I wonder how long it'll take for the Masques.
Except with new blitz order it is very dangerous now. You get 4-5 Dragon Tree markers in no time. If the opponent deck's draw engine is weak then they can't pgs Griphogila attack all the time.
Meh they skipped 2 turns making it seem like dragon tree player was able to get back resources easily from that attack And making it seem like yuyu lost a lot of resources even tho he drew a lot from arcs and g1 prayer dragon The only way dragon tree player was able to pull that off is if he healed and draw triggered a lot og times
Not counting the 3 new decks Bushi is planing to release i think 5 new booster set till the end of the year, so who knows what we will see in those next months.
Just when you thought it couldn't get better, the very first episode of the new season is proving you wrong. I think I have never been this excited for a Vanguard Anime (even though I watched them all and liked them all) it really gets you hyped up to play a few cardfights yourself.

I just wish we got something new for dragon tree, I was hoping a card that removed a calamity from the ride deck so it takes 1 turn less for OT, or a card for early game that lets you place a second calamity from ride deck into your soul if you went second
The main reason why they didnt show a complete fight and skips around is cause there was no way the fight was gonna reached the overtrigger turn in a normal fight.
Why do they always make our boy Yu-yu lost in every early episode.... He lost against raika in s1, lost against danji in s2, lost against jinki in s3 Poor Yu-yu, just labeled MC in disguise

Not holding back ep1 is great. It sets expectations for how strong Yu-yu has to get. In any other season 6 attacks would have beat almost anyone.
